  1. I'd say a Leicester win too by around 10 points. The most important thing though is for all the riders to get through the meeting with no injuries.
  2. BEL £17 = League match. ELRC £25 = Individual meeting. Total........Still couldn't give a monkeys about the ELRC.
  3. No wonder Mads got cheesed off at Leicester then. Captain of the team but Doyle took over the role with the other riders looking up to him not Mads and not even being able to give the after match talk to the fans. Don't think so. It's only a challenge match to blow off the cobwebs. I think I'm going to save my money for a trip to Peterborough on the following Sunday as Leicester and Coventry meet again in the E.L. two weeks after the EMB.
  4. I know nothing but just dislike injustices. Okay so the first time apparently he left Peterborough in a precarious position but I don't think he can be blamed for the last time. Heart ruled head to keep the Panthers going in 2014 when it's pretty clear they always struggle to get enough people through the gates to break even. I don't blame him for not wanting to continue this season and I hope the new lot are more successful.
  5. Great photo Lioness. I wonder what happens at tracks where dogs aren't allowed like Swindon, Wolverhampton, Belle Vue, whether an exception is made when it is a riders dog who is just sitting in the van? I wish I could put photos on here like Facebook as I have some lovely ones of Molly's first meeting at Coventry when she was 9 weeks old. Bit boring though as she was curled up asleep. Lucy too when she was introduced to speedway at 9 weeks - she just went to sleep. That's the time when you find out if they're going to be okay or not - any signs of distress and they don't get taken again. Fortunately I've never had that problem with any of my dogs though.
  6. Hasn't it worn off the key yet? My E T and A have disappeared, with D on its way out too.
  7. That might be easier said than done because no doubt each rider has their own idea of how they like the track. Hans Andersen = slick? Chris Harris = more dirt & grippy? So we might have to go back to the Colin Pratt method 'It's the same for everyone - get on with it.'
  8. Yes, that is brilliant news and even more important than the last signing. Getting the track right is the number one priority as it was embarrassing at times last season. Welcome back Terry.
  9. So what is your opinion now that it's Jakub Jamrog? Do we nip in above Leicester now?
  10. Welcome to Coventry Jakub. Can't say I've heard of him but that doesn't mean much. The majority of fans didn't seem to want Klindt in the team so they should be happy with this choice. It's nice to see a fresh face.
  11. Thank you. Obviously not a relative then.
  12. Interesting. Yes, he could very well be, or possibly his son being as he is 38? I give up on that one as I'm still trying to work out if it's feasible.
  13. March 1st......some "breaking news" will come out on middle to end of next week regarding my near future.
  14. Service his ban? Journalism these days is shocking.
  15. I keep seeing double tonight. Think I'd better book myself in for an eye test.
  16. Oh don't tempt me to reply to that. I'm still on a zero warning since I joined in 2001. Regarding dogs at speedway though I get seriously irritated by people who generalize but really have no idea....or they form an opinion because they've got a dog that's not well behaved so they're judging all of them by their own dog. Lucy just goes to sleep. Next time you're at Coventry come and wake her up and meet her. You can also see another cruelly treated dog Edward on the second bend. Thank goodness Rory isn't having his testimonial at Brandon because his dog would be there as well. Shame on you Rory's family for being so horrible to Taffy.
  17. Thanks Fliss. Judging by what Robert72 is like with his posts I won't even bother to reply.
  18. Thank goodness for that. I can sleep tonight now.
  19. Blimey there must be some old people on here besides me with all this talk of Fred Perkins. I can remember him riding for Leicester way back. Too true. The English version of Darcy Ward.
  20. Who says they can't afford to make a loan? They just probably think, like the majority of Coventry fans do, that Bridger has got a damn cheek asking. No equipment and no van because he's spent all his money on other things. He obviously wasn't seriously intending to ride so tough. Perhaps he can get a job shelf stacking and actually work for a living.
  21. Coventry's track length is 301 metres, from 2006 onwards. Prior to that it was 303 metres. Poole's is 299.1 metres. I'm certainly not going to argue with flagrag but I wouldn't class either as a 'smaller track.' I'd say Belle Vue, Lakeside, Wolverhampton and Eastbourne fit that description but I'm not checking as it's my bedtime.
  22. I've never thought of Poole and Coventry as 'smaller tracks' but I'm sure you are right. What is Leicester's track length because I can't find it on their website, although it's no doubt right in front of my nose.
  23. I nearly added another sentence but was very restrained in view of my zero warning status.
