  1. I hope I don't bump into him on Sunday. ..... During which Mick Horton and Chris Simpson will have a public 'kiss and make up' session, exchange Easter Eggs and everyone will enjoy the rest of the season.
  2. I wouldn't raise your hopes up too much about doing well at Leicester. I wonder if he's thinking of Peter Kildemande? (Sorry, I've forgotten how to spell his name now.)
  3. Well, if your 'car full' of friends are that fickle that they need the so called top riders before they are interested then tough. It's easy to sit behind a keyboard and moan about the line up but I bet it's been really hard for Chris to sort out. In fact he said at the last meeting that when he retires he definitely doesn't want to be on the promoting side. Stop being so bloody miserable. I dread to think what you're going to be like when you're old.
  4. Well, at least this subject has taken his mind off the Leicester track for a change.
  5. Stop moaning Shawn! I'm happy with the riders announced as I don't want to see GP riders clear off into the distance thank you. This line up has quite a balanced feel about it and Chris might even win. 33 races for £20 is not bad at all.
  6. Don't worry Norbold - I don't think it will catch up. This thread is running out of steam now......unless Darcy releases his much awaited statement of course.
  7. 2005. She will be ten years old in June. Summed up exactly and that's why it annoys me when people generalize about dogs because they are not all the same and the owner knows them best. Mine have always been taken to the speedway at 9 or 10 weeks old and have never shown any fear of the noise. If they had I wouldn't have taken them again. The hoover is another thing entirely though and is really scary. Lucy always shoots upstairs out of the way when that comes out. Strange how she can stand next to the starting gate at Buxton with bikes revving up and take no notice but she's scared of the hoover.
  8. Will they allow dogs in their super duper new stadium or will the jobsworth stewards be transferring there as well? Really miss my trips to Swindon - it's not the same just going to the Cotswold Wildlife Park without a speedway meeting afterwards.
  9. Found this photo just for you Robert - Molly at her first Speedway meeting at Coventry aged 10 weeks. Do you honestly think she is at all bothered by the noise or flying shale? I rest my case. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=78059152784&set=a.10150108832387785.305302.550797784&type=3&theater
  10. 33 heats? Blimey! I'd better take my tea as well as my dinner. It's going to be a long day.
  11. You might like to look at this as it will give you an idea what the racing was like. http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/14144/elrc-leicester-21-03-15 ftg stands for From the gate. I didn't go so have no idea what the attendance was but I'm sure someone will let you know.
  12. Blimey. Flying shale and noise. We're not really in the habit of hanging over the fence. Even though I get rather irritated by people who generalise about all dogs being the same terrified little creatures, if you are on Facebook look my name up - Janet Hambleton, Leicester - and you can see the latest photos of Lucy and Molly at Peterborough on Sunday. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153702794432785&set=pcb.10153702799197785&type=1&theater Do they look bovvered?
  13. Good grief! I can't see him being able to ride the Monmore Green track very well. Hope they've got a good strong air fence.
  14. It's okay for you 150 miles away as you won't have to watch him. No thanks! Bad decision in the first place and not a popular signing with the majority of Coventry fans. We were prepared to give him the 'benefit of the doubt' but nothing has changed - still an unreliable prat.
  15. Yes, I realise that he's a wimp and doesn't want to see me face to face after saying it's cruel taking a dog to Speedway.
  16. To be fair to Shawn now he's moved back home to Wales there aren't any tracks nearby. Plenty of Sheep but no tracks.
  17. Does Lewis Bridger fit? He might be free if the promotion provide him with a couple of bikes, a van and a map of how to get to Beaumont Park.
  18. You're right it wasn't a very good advert for speedway unfortunately but it was the first meeting so hopefully the track will settle down and the racing will get better. Although there were still a fair few amount of genuine passes, nothing compares to Peterborough on Sunday where there were passes in the majority of races. If you've never been to The Showground you want to get yourself over there sometime. Lots of Sunday afternoon meetings this year. I saw several dogs at Coventry and I also walked round with Lucy before the match started. I even stopped to talk to one strange Leicester fan, standing with all the others on the 1st bend, who had what looked like a Lion stuck on his head. Nice chap though. Afterwards, as I told you before, I'm on the 4th bend but Lucy is harder to spot then because she's usually asleep on her blanket.
  19. Yes me too. Love the Peterborough track and yet the regulars are saying it wasn't at its best due to it being an afternoon meeting. Quite happy with that thank you and looking forward to the next Sunday match. Didn't see Thomas. Doesn't he go any more? Shame I can't put photos on here as I've got a cracking photo of Molly watching the racing like Thomas, but unfortunately she obviously doesn't have his stamina because she fell asleep standing up after a few heats.
  20. Yes, he crashed in his second race and was taken to hospital. Any news how he is?
  21. Is Brady Kurtz any relation to Todd? Regarding the track it's always difficult when meetings are held in the afternoon but I thought the track staff did a decent enough job. The ones on the 3rd/4th bend were definitely bringing the shale back towards the inside line after races and I was quite impressed to actually see track rakers. Don't have them any more at Coventry or a lot of other tracks. If that's what the racing is like on a "poor" track then I'm glad I'll be able to come to all the Sunday meetings this season. Really enjoyed it, although it's a shame Panthers didn't win. Shawn....you really should get yourself to some meetings this season as you're obviously forgetting what Speedway is like. Of course a rider can cause another to crash without actually falling off himself.
  22. But still a miserable Aussie. What was wrong with him at Coventry last night? Trailed in last in heats 13 and 15 and then cleared off without joining his team to collect the East Midlands Bowl. As captain he should have been the one to receive it.
  23. Kilmakorpi is one of my favourite riders and I would have loved to see him riding for the Bees again but is he worth paying more money than Hans? Don't think so.
