  1. Chris 3rd, Scott 2nd in heat 3. Chris 4th, Scott 3rd in heat 13 so no. Someone is going to be pleased. Not according to my Birmingham friend as he said Danny would come last and he was right. He's a bit like Rory - don't use him in heat 15.
  2. Same as Sunday then with all the speakers off except the grandstand. I hope Mick has got a reduction in the rent. Didn't anyone else notice the tactical thinking going on in heat 10? If Danny hadn't come last in that heat Belle Vue would have had the chance to use Scotty with a Badger hat (as my friend calls it) on the best gate in heat 11. I guess what is done is done and we still got our 4 points. 3 points...... mdmc82.
  3. No start line girls? I hadn't actually noticed they weren't there. Agree with everything you've said though and well done to the referee for keeping the meeting running smoothly. The only downside was the tannoy playing up again and wasn't working for half of the match on the 3rd/4th bend. Enjoyable match with some good racing so well done to both teams.
  4. Hans off. Hopefully he is happy at Coventry as he has come back for a second season.
  5. Thanks. He should have a good career in Speedway if he stays level headed.
  6. He's not so bad these days as he doesn't commentate on the last lap (or two) of races. I've got quite used to him at Coventry this season with David Hammond in the commentary box. Well, he's given his views now and agrees with the meeting being stopped, but he would say that wouldn't he?
  7. That's the problem and what racers & royals is pointing out. It should say 25th.
  8. Not sure but I did spot Steve Shovlar and Starman. Greg Hancock looks more like Norman Wisdom every time I see him on T.V. lately.
  9. Bloody Poole again. Is there nothing they're not good at?
  10. Blimey I thought I was slow walking back but at least I've got the excuse of two dodgy knees. Spoilsport - you've edited the time on your post now.
  11. Yes, me too. Simon has always been one of my favourite riders so I hope he gets well soon.
  12. If that's the case I hope they will also look into how many are treated for smoking and alcohol related illnesses.
  13. Yes it was, apart from the Ipswich match which wasn't so good as the track looked overwatered and their riders weren't too keen, with the exception of Danny King and Cameron Heeps who got stuck in. Got me worried for a minute when I read 'No more Sunday afternoon racing.' But scrolling past the photo I see it's now 5pm which is still okay for me but I wouldn't be so keen if it was 7.30pm as I don't really like driving on the A47 in the dark.
  14. It's a real shame about the parking at Leicester as 235 spaces is a ridiculously small amount. Yes, I know parking is available at the Shopping Centre but as Shawn has found out there is the risk of being fined for staying longer than 4 hours. I missed the second half racing recently as I was worried about this (I'm not as brave as Shawn and would have paid up so didn't want to risk getting a ticket.) It's quite a hike up to the stadium so you have to take this into account after parking the car if you're not so young anymore so with a second half it would be quite easy to go over the 4 hours.
  15. It will go away. My brother had a parking ticket when on holiday in Cornwall and is still waiting to be prosecuted 50 years later.
  16. Yes - True Grit. I still have a small one somewhere, but Nevsy had a massive size poster. Better not bring that subject up again though.
  17. I doubt it would make any difference what track the meeting was held on being there is such a gap between the top riders and the likes of Ryan Terry-Daley, Connor Coles, Josh Bailey, Tom Stokes, Oliver Greenwood, Connor Mountain etc. No disrespect to those riders but they are not in the same class at the present time.
  18. Agree. I hate the idea of a semi and final for a meeting like this when a rider can get five straight wins, but perhaps have a bad gate position in the final or get shoved out on the first bend and end up not being champion. However, after it was pointed out to me that it's Kyle's last chance whereas Robert has a few more years left I'm happy with the result. Well done to Kyle.
