  1. That's the reason I drive over 40 miles to Peterborough. Absolutely brilliant race, along with many others equally as good so it's always worth the journey. You get no sun breaks at the Showground either, even in the middle of the afternoon 'cos it's always bloody freezing there.
  2. Perhaps he was passing something himself at the time?
  3. Still doesn't excuse not joining his team mates on the victory parade though. He didn't have to ride his bike then ~ he was getting a lift.
  4. Yes it's a shame about Lambert because at Peterborough in the afternoon he rode brilliantly to score 15 + 1 points. I know it's Premier League but he just looked so confident on that track. Leicester obviously doesn't suit him.
  5. Is it ever? As soon as you get out of the car there's usually a gale force wind.
  6. Afraid I wouldn't be interested in Pairs or Individual meetings. With regard to a new home for Coventry the answer is no news and I can't see it happening either.
  7. I'll recognise you this time Star Lady. Now what are my chances of seeing two speedway meetings in one day? Hope the referee gets his/her finger on the two minutes button to keep things moving along because I'm hoping to be at Peterborough, go home afterwards and then drive to Coventry for their match against Kings Lynn.
  8. It will be interesting to see which mug of a club decides to use Darcy, if any, knowing he will just be dropping his average ready for a return to Poole next season.
  9. I'm sure speedibee will answer this himself in his own style, but the Storm team this season is obviously weaker because the points limit dropped.
  10. Ah....but this is the BSF, not Facebook. Anything goes on here.
  11. I agree it is wrong. Cheats should not be in inverted commas.
  12. Looks like it. Either way I'm cheesed off because I'll be away on that Monday, whereas before I wasn't going to miss any matches.
  13. I didn't realise there was a NL match planned for that Sunday but perhaps it has something to do with the Bees riding the next day? Not many people would go to both and the attendances for The Storm matches seem to be down on last season so probably not a good idea to ride the day before an E.L. meeting.
  14. Then the riders would be moaning they can't see going into the 3rd/4th bend instead of the 1st/2nd. Did we have all these sun breaks years ago? I don't recall them. I know you are replying to the person who started the thread but I'm afraid I couldn't put up with a 40 minute delay every time the sun shines so they must be a patient lot at Kings Lynn. When we went a couple of weeks ago this is what happened, but although the sun was shining it was still cold hanging around due to the wind and the delay was enough to put me off going again. If this is a regular thing ~ and with Summer coming up it probably is ~ why not start at 8pm instead of 7.30pm? Also would it not be possible to put some sort of hoarding up on the bend that is affected so there isn't such a long delay?
  15. Is this morse code? If so can you translate for me as I'm not really fluent in that.
  16. Yes, well done Kent......and Coventry. Very impressed with Conor Dwyer in particular ~ he has improved a lot lately. Unusual match with 13 races all ending in a 3-3, plus a 5-1 each. All done and dusted by 9.20pm with no interval. See it can be done and the track staff can obviously manage two hours without a wee afterall. Bit of a scare in heat 13 when James Shanes fell on the 4th bend and was struggling to get up and remove his bike from the track. No red lights came on but luckily he managed to get off the track just in time. I know they're not allowed to help these days but it does seem a bit stupid that no-one can assist a fallen rider, especially when James had previously had a heavy fall in heat 9 so couldn't have been feeling 100%.
  17. As long as they give him their new addresses and he has a choice whether to live with Mummy or Daddy then I don't see what the problem is.
  18. I don't think that makes any difference really. I think a lot of Bees fans won't even give NL racing a chance because they're got the idea it's inferior and riders are falling off all over the place, which of course isn't true. Well, not unless Nathan Grieves is riding.
  19. Agree. Doubt if there's much chance of catching up that 14 point lead without Dan Greenwood. I watch both Bees and Storm but it's a pity there are not more of us as the racing last season was as good as the E.L. Decent enough crowd, although for the 1st match this year it was very poor. Can't really judge though because it was just a challenge so hopefully there will be a lot more attending tonight.
  20. The Stars fans must be a patient lot because one visit to Kings Lynn is going to be enough for me this season. I couldn't stand all this hanging around every time the sun is shining. Most fans arrive about 15/20 minutes before a match starts so it's an hour or more before watching a race. It's the same at Leicester, although their sun must be a bit different because there's usually a few races before a break. Like you say, surely they could sort something out that wouldn't cost the earth to block the low sun?
  21. I was surprised how poor Hansen was as I was expecting him to do much better than that. I don't know anything about Barrett so can't comment but Nathan Grieves did seem out of his depth at this level and he does tend to fall off in at least one race whenever I've seen him ride.
  22. Feel very sorry for the Glasgow fans who had made plans to be there. I'm also wondering what will happen to the fixture due on July 12th against Scunthorpe and whether this will be called off nearer the date being as there will be dogs all over the place. Just Dogs Live is at The Showground on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and I'm hoping to attend on the Sunday so I don't have to make two journeys on consecutive days.
  23. Very good. Okay fair enough. Must admit so far my Sunday visits have been very enjoyable but excessive track grading during a match is one of my pet hates and it seemed this time there were more laps by the tractors than bikes.
  24. Now I didn't want to moan but being as you've mentioned it first. Why did we see more laps by the tractors than riders and what good did they do? First time I've seen a raker abandon his rake and attempt to kick the piles of shale to one side. I just can't understand all this track grading and it drives me mad. Apparently there was a Truckfest or something last weekend but there didn't seem to be much of a problem with the track at the start of the match to warrant the continual grading which seemed to make things worse anyway. Hope there were no newcomers to the sport there today.
