Howarth and Picko announced. Great top 5, but think we'll end up exposed at reserve with more than likely Edwards and Gilkes at reserve.
-
I'm sure they'll get over it. Ipswich fans are well known on this forum for not holding grudges.
-
I'd rather have both. But if you held a gun to my head and made me choose, I'd go woffinden over Tobi. Musielak is a fantastic racer and no doubt he's always given 110% for us. But I feel like woffy gave a bit more with how he team rode and didnt just go for fresh air. And though it doesn't make a blind bit of difference to me, woffinden does bring that star treatment. Definitely seemed there was more at Owlerton after we'd signed him.

Personally think Berwick need a massive overhaul. As much as it can be tempting in a rumoured weakened league to sign up some of the riders from the season gone, there's a reason they're on that average, because they were crap. Only really Leon and Coles I reckon should be back, maybe Etheridge for his efforts in the play offs for Sheffield
-
Much worse things have been said at speedway tracks. If Woffy wants to be back, I'm sure Sheffield will more than welcome to having him back.

Could be another factor in Jack could be wanting to focus on the GPs and will also have the pressure of Lublin being in the play offs, and as we all know, if Poland say jump riders respond "how high". -

Bloody hell, I thought I'd accidently logged onto the BNP forum with all this "these bloody foreigners steelin' British jobs" rubbish. A change was needed, Adam had a lot of expectation on him this season and unfortunately it's not been met, I don't think anyone can deny that and it's hard to see a rider we all know is capable struggling. Hopefully some time off will do him some good and he can refocus and come back stronger, whether that be for Sheffield or another side. Lewi has been victim of averages. Which is a shame as he has been a constantly good performance and was forming good rides with woffy when they were paired together. Sort of Glad to see he's been immediately been picked up by Leicester, but could prove a real thorn in ours side if we meet Leicester at any point in the play offs. -

Nick Morris verdict a question
spin king junior replied to davieb1's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You lot are some some absolutely weird people, and I genuinely cannot believe I'm answering this on a speedway forum. But as someone who works in the sector I can answer this question. As anyone changing their name, whether that be through marriage or deed poll, the person can continue to use their card whilst they wait for their new card in their correct name to come through and is only usually active for a set period of time. -
Clearly no intention of trying to win back the fans this season. What a lot of hard work undone so fast by the berwick promotion.

We're over limit with holder in team. So wouldn't be possible. -

Can't see how we're going to fit in Tai, Jack and Tobi realistically. Would take dropping either picko and Ellis for tai and a 2 point rider or making 3 changes. -
Well there's your first problem. You're comparing 2 completely different levels of sport, which is completely unfair. The Ektraliga is the most professionally run league of the speedway world, because its the best paid speedway league in the world and the best attended speedway league in the world. For them racing in one league pays well enough for that to be their full time job. For a good amount of Biritish riders its either racing in multiple leagues or having it as a part time job. And these riders are massively important in the current state of speedway, there's less riders to go around so obviously the sport needs to give them some incentive to keep racing. If you keep giving less, then dont expect riders to show up and put their lives on the line. I agree to an extent guests do need to be used less, the situation with Kennett was a farce last season, but Poole using Complin is no different to whats been happening for at the very least the last 2 decades of the sport running and is far down the list of things the sport needs to fix.
-
For all the whinging about Complin guesting for Poole, there has been very little solution been given, and the majority of solutions given being an absolute load of crap. At the end of the day riders are for the most part paid for points, and at this level it isn't always the best paid job. So if Lee can earn some extra money taking a guest booking, then I can't see the problem? And its hardly something new, guests have always been part and parcel to speedway, a necessary for a dangerous sport where injuries arise. The way I see it is Poole shouldn't be punished for a rider getting injured, so the suggestion that they should have to field a lesser averaged rider because they're at reserve is ludicrous. And if a rider can earn extra money, they should also be allowed to.

Sounds like Pickering will be back soon enough. I know Kings Lynn fully intend on reintroducing him into their side, but surely if it fits then we should be offering him a place in the side to replace Bellego? -

Chucking it down. Early call off was the right call. -
I think Redcar have put a nice subtle touch on their race suits which helps with that issue. Each rider has a different colour just above their elbow to help differentiate the riders. Nothing massive, but a clever idea from whoever designed their race suits!

Surely there's got to be a point here where Holder could take out a lawsuit against Chapman? There must be some form of verbal or written agreement between himself and the promotion and unless he has signed for Ipswich, then all of his preparation for the season is going to go to waste. Once again the sport is an absolute shambles. -
I thought she did a grand job when I went to see Sheffield there. Could be 3 years of experience to where she's improved, but I found her level of interaction and talking to the fans to be spot on, which is better than 80% of announcers who absolutely love the sound of their own voice.
-
First off, i hope Rew has a speedy recovery But that track cannot be fit for purpose.I know you've gotta have a screw loose to do the sport, but surely any rider with a slight bit of common sense should have took one look at the standard and put their bikes back in the van? It just screams an accident waiting to happen, I know riders want to keep sharp over the winter but racing on that is beyond stupid.

Leicester lions 2023 (PREMIERSHIP)

Looks the weakest of the sides assembled so far. Banking on either Sedgmen or Allen to really hit the ground running. Either should be fine as a 6, but have my doubts when they'll be needed in the main body. -
Not an overly impressive team. Think it's one that'll get absolutely found out away from home and could really struggle in the reserve department. I know there was talk of Schlein coming out of his retirement, but I didn't think they were being serious! Hopefully he can carry on as he did for Poole.

I mentioned In the sheffield thread as I believed the criteria is- 1. Be under 25 or have less than 3 years experience in the top league And 2. Have a Premiership average under 5.5 or championship average under 6.5 So rightfully Flint is in
