  1. Good performance from the Prowlers in both meeting, with a little bit of help from Redcar! Obviously the conditions had an impact on the quality of racing but we did have the odd few races which we're spectacular! Have to say it's a welcomed change to see the odd National league meeting at Owlerton and I for one really hope the connection between the two clubs continue on to next season
  2. I'd be absolutely fine with it as i would have the tigers to follow week in, week out and still get a small amount of national racing. I think the main reason I'm frustrated is because there's been a perfectly good reason set out and whether we like it or lump it, they're a business first. At this time I'm just glad I've got 1 team to follow! and I'm very grateful of our own management for keeping the Tigers going I have a lot of respect for Rob Godfrey, he's built a successful speedway venue from the ground up and one of the most exciting speedway tracks. But at a time when speedway isn't as profitable as it once was and when everyone's feeling the pinch to save money then it's understandable for him to take the help from Sheffield and take some weight off his shoulders. I'm sure it's not a decision he wanted to make but it'll probably be for the best in the long run.
  3. But it's purely for financial reasons! if the club would've carried on losing money with the Saints then they may be no saints at all and i think it's unfair to expect the management to try and keep two clubs afloat. I think some of you need to realize just how lucky you are you've got your own track, training track, the scorpions and still get a bit of national league racing as well, i bet plenty of fans who're without a teams would kill to be in the position your in , but it just isn't enough is it?
  4. Well the way I'd see is would you rather have 5 National league meetings or none at all? By the sounds of it the Saints have never been financially successful and unfortunately in these times it's a difficult time to keep 2 teams running on a profit. There's obviously more positives for Sheffield rather than Scunthorpe but nevertheless there was a reason for doing so and IMO it's the right one to keep a National league team going
  5. Try looking at the Birmingham team, they're using only one of their assets as well . I agree with you about winning the league, the sides got plenty of potential with the Worrall twins and Birks in the mix but have probably the best number 1 and captain in the league, we've just got to hope he gets over his injury problems. Hopefully a good season for the Prowlers/Saints with plenty of silverware to follow. Actually what if we do win the league? who gets the trophy Maybe we'll cut it in half
  6. Best of luck Prowlers Saints Looks a very good meeting with plenty of potential in each teams. Could go either way.
  7. Excellent signing So glad that Coops has got a team place with Sheffield/Scunthrope and should be the top rider in the National league if he comes back from his injury. I wonder when the fixtures will be released I really can't wait to see what teams will be coming to Owlerton, hopefully we can have Stoke,Belle Vue,Kings Lynn and Buxton
  8. Good point I'd love to see national league racing full time at Sheffield again. I guess we'll find out more in tomorrows speedway star !
  9. Then what's the point in any meetings being at Sheffield I've already given a reason to change the name and with less tracks being available then why not give any possible chance to try and get another team going again?
  10. Why should it be the Saints if they're doing half of their meetings at Sheffield. Doesn't make much sense really. I think it'd be best if we went through a similar route to what Cradley did with Birmingham and Wolverhampton, give a team without a home another chance and see the possible revival of the Hull Vikings, maybe if they get enough Hull fans coming to the meetings then they could possibly get their own track again.
  11. Personally i don't think the team will be the Scunthorpe Saints if we take on half of the meetings this season. I hope we get the Vikings back .
  12. That gets my vote too!!! Just imagine it- the USA Oreos vs the Great British Rich teas
  13. Maybe you should make a few options then put it to a vote
  14. You could ring the ticket office - 0871 230 7155 , but i don't think it's a good idea taking a 2year old to a grand prix .
  15. Very much doubt it, as there have been complications with Tyson getting a working permit.
  16. Whatever you say Malcom, all i was saying that there was a good reason to why they didn't sign for scunthorpe in the first place!!!, but no i clearly have no idea, thanks for being so respectful.
  17. Fact is Malcom, i've been told in confidence why, and frankly i don't want to abuse that system. Just wanted people to stop saying that the Scunthorpe riders we're poached away from the club.
  18., he was never "poached" away from Scunthorpe, there was a perfectly good reason why most of the youngster in the Scunthorpe team moved on.
  19. Was in the second half at Sheffield last night, looked really fast!
