Could go either way i reckon. He was very well liked at Sheffield and was one of the few of that team that actually put some effort in. As long as he's got his machinery sorted, then he'll do alright for Plymouth.

And she answered. What's the problem?

WHAT!?!

As said, my 'investment' is paying to watch the side all season long, so I think it's fair that I should at least have an opinion on what I'm paying to watch. Fair enough, maybe the club hasn't got the financial backing to put out a competitive side. But I've got every right to worry, especially when the clubs putting out articles like this- http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/speedway/speedway-tigers-future-in-doubt-1-5155300 Either way my opinion shouldn't really matter to the club, I'll be going whatever crap side they decide to put out! It's the not so loyal that they need to get back to the club. And if this really is the make or break season for Sheffield, where we need to get the fans back that we've lost, then this isn't the team to do it IMO and could well result in a similar season to last where were fighting at the bottom of the league and suffering with low attendances.

Oh aye, I'm obviously talking a load of rubbish. Especially when we've wasted potentially signing someone on an 8.41 average & go on to sign Richard Hall. The team is absolutely terrible with a massive amount of pressure on Albin and Koppe to hit the ground running and to see Hall change his fortunes all of a sudden and be a solid 2nd heatleader. Fact is, the likes of Wells, Stead and Haines are a complete waste if you're going to build an incredibly weak team around it. I guess our only hope is that Plymouth put out an equally weaker side!
-
Well that teams 1.52 under the limit. I really cannot even imagine what the promotion were thinking when signing these last few riders. If this is the team to turn Sheffields fortunes around after one of the worst seasons we've ever had, then you really have to worry about our future!

Berwick Bandits 2013

Hard to tell. He looked exciting, but was only riding against national league standard riders and wasn't exactly doing that great against them either. -
And for a brief moment I genuinely thought the promotion cared about getting the fans back. Hall is without a doubt not the answer to our problems. Imagine if we sign Albin as well! Wooden spoon here we come....

three 5 point riders in 1 team, surely not!?

What makes you say Albin won't be signing? -
Yeah I agree. Whatta Knobhead! Everyone's been posting about their worries about the teams and you're the only one he picks out? Typical Spin King....

Point taken. But you could have- 1.Ashworth 2.Bellego 3.Aspegren 4.Smith 5.Grajczonek 6.Rajkowski/Edberg 7.Sarjeant I'd say that'd be a much better side with a definite second heatleader and gives Smith the chance to settle back into full time speedway. Could be a risk taking on the likes of Sarjeant or any other 3 point Brit, but would leave you with a very solid 1-6 -

That's a decent side but does lack a strong 2nd heatleader to back up Ashworth and is 1.75 under the limit. -
Claus Vissing? At Sheffield? No thank you...
-
My ideal team for next season would be- 1.Simon Stead 2.Joe Haines 3.Josh Grajczonek 4.David Bellego 5.Jordan Frampton 6.Damien Koppe 7.Stefan Nielsen Absolutely no chance of it happening, but it'd be one hell of a team to watch every Thursday- or whatever race night we'll be riding!
-
Hall would be a disaster of a signing. If Hall & Wells do sign we'll be left with 9.57 for our last 2 riders, which isn't enough to build a decent enough team.
-
So you'd leave out Roynon? Wouldn't mind Adam at Sheffield!

spin king junior replied to challenger's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
But on the upside Berwick have very little competition in sports teams. Whereas Sheffield have 2 well supported football teams, a successful hockey side and other teams in basketball. It must be very difficult to convince fans to pay £16 a week for speedway when there's the Owls within walking distance of the track! -

Actually I do understand. Difference is that I don't take everything on title of a thread. -

Sorry, didn't realise everyone had to read every topic and post on here. For Christ sake, he's only asked a question. It doesn't exactly take that long to open up a thread. Bloody drama queens!- 79 replies

The crowds didn't drop just because Ashworth left. He was a small factor of a bigger problem at Sheffield. Fact is, Ricky would hardly be an exciting signing. No doubt he'd fit the bill as a good and consistent number, but I just can't see that many people coming back for a rider who's left for one season but was here for 10.
-
Yeah because Ashworth will really get the fans rushing back to Owlerton!
