  1. Sissis would be a good signing, as long as we start him at reserve. I feel he'd still need his time to get back into the swing of things in speedway. And as long as bates does get a reduction, we could have- Stead Bellego Birks Poole Proctor Bates Sissis
  2. I can't see him being away from Sheffield, or at least i hope not! I think on that sort of average he's a bit of a steal. I just can't see the point in letting him leave after just signing him up as an asset.
  3. Fantastic to hear. The national league actually looks very good this year and it's good to see both the Brummies and Heathens secure their short term future.
  4. Wouldn't be surprised at all if they did make it mandatory to have Brits at reserve if I'm honest. And even though Covatti would be a trump card at reserve, i wouldn't be apposed to the idea of it at all. Something needs to change either way.
  5. http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/other-sports/speedway/sheffield-speedway-nico-covatti-wants-to-return-1-6943791 Looks like Covatti wants to return! Bit unsure on Nico, there's obviously something about him but we only saw him in glimpses. A spell at reserve should do him a world of good though and i think we'd get a lot out of him on such a low average of 4.19.
  6. I wouldn't be too concerned with regards to Stead. You can look at the flip side and say why haven't they announced Bates yet? Without a doubt in my mind, unless there's a massive in the league structure or points limit, then both will be at Sheffield.
  7. Sarjeant- 3 Facu- 3.66 Bates- 3.53 (or 3.44 if he get's a reduction) There's no chance Bates won't be at Sheffield next season though. But i think a reserve pairing of Bates with Albin would work.
  8. Very odd. They did say they were gonna announce the first signing of next season. Wonder what changed there?
  9. Sod it. Everyone else is doing it!- 1. Simon Stead 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Josh Bates Fill in the rest.
  10. Heavens forbid it's a lack of organization from the club itself. Because you know, it'd never be their fault would it? What an absolute shambles. I just can't believe there's actually fans defending their club over this when they're clearly in the wrong. But blind loyalty goes a long way i suppose. Unfortunately not every fan will put up with such amateur workings and there's no way speedway can run off die hard alone. Hopefully this will be the end of it and the promotion will put in effort so it doesn't happen again. Especially now the last thing we need is another club struggling. but stuff like this is only going to push more and more away.
  11. The situation is completely incomparable. That meeting today would have run with a bit of organization and professionalism, whereas Berwick was just unavoidable. Another day in which speedway simply looks amateur. This sort of stuff needs to be stomped out and quick. It's only going to push fans further away from the sport.
  12. I'd be happy with that, especially if he came as an asset too. Or a straight swap of Roynon for Nielsen would do nicely.
  13. If the club has any ambition whatsoever, they'll make a change with that team. No matter what way anyone wants to sugar coat it this team isn't good enough. Not at all. We're in the exact same position as last season where we're 3 points under the limit and have some real scope to make a change that will make a big difference. Even just to drop Nielsen for Hall would at least make us a lot stronger at home and would levitate the pressure from the other riders, although I'd be hoping we can make a better signing. I'm not at all concerned about letting Nielsen go, the effort without a doubt has been there, but it's no good if the score isn't. Frankly, he might be better off at Newcastle.
  14. I'd look at bringing in Rob Lambert or Mellegren if possible. They'd both make us a hell of a lot stronger! Not sure if there's any riders about that haven't rode in Britain yet though.
  15. Yet Bates outscored Nielsen last week. he's been scoring pretty much on par with Simon, mostly better all season. I feel out of all the squad, Nielsen is the most likely candidate and rightly so. He has looked better over last few week, actually going in the dirt and going for it. But his score really hasn't reflected it at all. I'd disagree to where bates is only keeping his place because his family are running the place. He's actually scored valuable points that have actually won us meetings.
  16. I was unsure to whether he could or not. I thought he could once he got his own average. Probably way off the mark though.
  17. Wonder if we could tempt Robert Lambert down to the premier league, by my thinking he'd be on 8.03 converted down from his EL average, but I'm not sure he can double down after trying with Newcastle. But we could easily swap him out for Lanham and still have plenty of room to make another move- 1. Simon Stead 9.71 2.Simon Nielsen 3.81/or replacement up to 5.91 3.Rob Lambert 8.03 4.Andre Compton/or a replacement up to 7.22 5. Ty Proctor 6.40 6. Taylor Poole 3.75 7.Josh Bates 3.58
  18. There is nothing more annoying to me than heat winning themes. And Birmingham are the absolute worst at this. Their presentation was just so irritable! Every time there's a crash, 'red light spells danger' and for about every pole they played 'Polish and your proud'. It's enough to want to drag your eardrums out! It's ok in moderation, for Sheffield we have the intro music and 5-1 which is just about enough. But at Birmingham, it's so forced and unnecessary.
