  1. Honestly I think only thing that lets it down is Gappmaier. Just don't rate him if I'm honest. But if Garcia can ride to the level he was at the back end of last season then it might not even be an issue. It's just if Fernando will do the business in main body of the team.
  2. Garcia and Flint are a very good reserve pairing in this league. Could easily be a season of swapping between Gappmaier and Garcia for that number 6 spot and flint should be one of the better number 7's in this league. Interesting side built by Berwick, but one that should do the business round Shielfield
  3. I'll have to go 1 better and win it next year now!
  4. Think we've got a good team overall. Not massively convinced with Nicol, we saw glimpses last season of a good rider but not much consistency and didn't really do much when he dropped to reserve either. My only worry is that whichever rider of the bottom 3 ends up in the main body throughout the season is in for a rough time. But hopefully won't be the case. King should do his job at 1, Proctor is what he is in this league but Andersen and Howarth, they could be the big difference in the team. A fully fit Howarth will make a mockery of that average and I think we saw enough from Andersen to know we've got a rider on a bargain average. With a bit of luck, we should be fighting at the top this season.
  5. You know, I don't think sarj would be too bad of a signing really. Rode pretty well on his last visit to Owlerton. Not the most exciting rider, but could prove useful in this weakened League.
  6. Last 2 annouced tomorrow. I'm gonna go Sarjeant and Howarth.
  7. Think they could've done with it being an hour later. 5pm I think would have suited people who do work Sundays.
  8. Wouldn't be too displeased with the team. But I think we're missing out if we don't end up signing Berge, he's an absolute bargain on that average and can easily be knocking double points round owlerton at second string. Think it leaves us too vunerable at the bottom end of the team, I dont doubt any of Kemp, Kennedy or Nicol ability but I think they'd all find it tough riding in the main body of the team.
  9. Douglas last average was 6.12 from 2017. I'm working it out under the assumption that king and howarth would both get the 2.5% reduction. So it'd be King 8.68 Andersen 5.20 Douglas 6.12 Berge 5.03 Howarth 6.78 Kennedy 4 Kemp 2 37.81
  10. Glad to see Kasper back at Sheffield. Hopefully we won't have any issues with him being signed up for Poland, but should be a really solid second string in this league. Could potentially go with- 1. King 2. Andersen 3. Douglas 4. Berge 5. Howarth 6 Kennedy 7 Kemp
  11. I doubt we'd sign Shanes now with his Sunday commitments unfortunately.
  12. Has the average changed for new riders.? I was under the impression Zaine would be 5 or 5.20.
  13. Think montain will be Leicester. Look at the averages, I think the likes of Berge, Andersen and any of the up-and-coming 2 points (Flint, Brennan, Kemp, Bickley) will be big acquisitions now.
  14. Nice of Lakeside to offer £7 off the admission. I'm sure everyone will be rushing back on Wednesday...
  15. Believe me, if I could've been at any meeting tonight I'd have been at scunny! The other half is a southerner and lives near Rye House so thought I'd take the opportunity to go watch some speedway with the season ending do prematurely at Sheffield!
  16. What an absolute disgrace that was. Felt like the fans were left (literally) in the dark for far too long and then to come over the PA and announce "we're sorry, we're speedway people, not electricians" is just shoddy. Had to take an 8 year old kid home bored out of his mind for a good hour waiting around and doesn't want to go back to the speedway now. And can you blame him? Tonight was the absolute lowest I've felt about this sport in a long time and that's bloody well saying something with the amount of crap we put up with in speedway. People can shoulder the blame with Rye House and they obviously had a massive hand to play in this mess of a so called meeting. But lakeside have to as well. The lack of worthwhile communication was bad just the occasional "we're doing our best" well, it wasn't good enough. I often see the phrase any speedway is better than no speedway thrown a lot around especially on this forum, but I can safely say I'd rather have none than have to put up with the absolute dross I saw.
  17. Now then, don't knock spin King senior. He's got 3 o levels. Proper smart.
  18. What a clown. You're making an absolute baseless and frivolous accusations that riders aren't getting paid. You're clearly either 1. A troll or 2. A moron. possibly both. I'm not blind to see that something's gone wrong this season and the promotion has to shoulder some of the blame. If I'm honest, one thing I am sick of is the promotion labelling fans who have gone genuie complaints as keyboard warriors and not having the back bone to take criticism. But I sort of get it when idiots are throwing stupid accusations like this around. It's like last season when people genuinely accused the promotion of throwing the Leicester meeting. It was completely baseless and didn't make any sense whatsoever. Much like if people are seriously suggesting the riders aren't being paid, you seriously think that would be kept quiet in this day and age?
  19. Because it's an absolute load of rubbish. The promotion have always been known to pay on time and fairly. It's probably just very sad individual putting up rumours.
  20. No word of a lie. The lights came on after heat 15. Couldn't make it up...
  21. Very disappointing. Last week could be sort of excused because of the weather, obviously the track is there for both teams, but it definitely favoured Lakeside. This week we had no excuse, with the exception of Kurtz and Lawlor the entire team was massively under par. Out gated and then beaten out of the first corner. Season is now absolutely over and we're just riding for pride now to finish as high as we possibly can. I definitely can't see the promotion taking a result like that and could well see a change or 2.
  22. Yeah. Because the 3 points scored from last time we were at Newcastle were a huge loss today.
  23. That's all well and good at home, but Lasse is a massive liability away. Its still a long season to go, so to write us off already is just wrong. Anything can happen, espcially in a play off situation, if we can bring in someone who can do the job home & away then Lasse should absolutely go or there's no point in the fans showing up!
  24. Wouldn't it be case he'd be on his old championship average?
