  1. HEATHENS IN FAN PLEA Saturday October 10, 2015 CRADLEY Heathens Speedway chiefs are urging fans to turn out in force at Perry Barr this Wednesday - to help convince potential buyers there is a future for the club. The three-man consortium, who revived the Heathens in 2010 after a 15-year gap in league racing, cannot continue running the club at Perry Barr in 2016 and are looking for new owners. Heathens face King's Lynn in the second leg of their Knockout Cup semi-final with a handy 51-39 lead from the first leg in Norfolk last Wednesday. Club Director Nigel Pearson said: "All three of us totally understand this is a worrying time for the club and we don't want to be remembered as the three people who brought the Heathens back - but then closed them down again. "A combination of issues means there is no alternative but to stand down and as a consortium we are desperate to see the Heathens continue in league racing in 2016. The best chance we have of achieving that is for the wonderful band of loyal fans to get across to Perry Barr on Wednesday, get right behind the boys and show what this club means to everyone. "The fan base is the reason why we carried on this year after losing the use of Wolverhampton. That was the only reason. Now it's time for us to move on and, personally, I hope there is a Heathens team on track next year for me to go and support when my diary allows. We cannot offer any guarantees, but that is our hope. "We look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday for what should be a big night with a cup final spot on the line."

  4. From Birminghams main site BIRMINGHAM Speedway have just been notified of the statement issued by the Cradley Heathens regarding the future of their club. Their statement has come as a complete surprise to us and we’re disappointed that we found out about this matter through their press release and that nobody from Cradley Speedway contacted us about the situation. However, we would like to emphasise categorically that their decision to look for new management for next year has no bearing whatsoever on the future of Birmingham Speedway. Throughout the season there has been plenty of rumour that the only reason Birmingham were running in 2015 was because of the track sharing agreement between the two clubs. This has not once been the case in any way, shape or form. While a decision is still yet to be made on which league it will be, Birmingham Speedway will without question be back at the tapes in 2016.
  5. That's a good idea Alex Bet Drury has 'not thought of that
  6. Maybe you should have a word with Ellis Perks & tell him punching a brick wall in the Coventry pits thru frustration & breaking his hard in the process will not help his depleted team mates.
