  1. Surely you dont think they'll adopt a sensible idea like that ? The powers that be will probably have a little sojourn In Gran canaria for a week in the winter to get their heads around this very difficult , complex problem
  2. As we've all seen lately , good reactions lead to refs calling all 4 back....................Some of us on here could do a better job than them , of that i'm sure !!
  3. Or just generally crap tracks like Kirky Lane . But , so he's a bad gater , i cant fall for this . Gating isnt natural , i dont buy into that . Why doesnt he employ some like the master gater , Hans N , or even Ivan M during the close season to try different techniques , set ups ? I think riders who cant gate have this perception that if keeping the status quo , things will be ok . I'm sorry , but they are wrong . Gating is an art , allied with good equipment .
  4. How can you be dual really ? You cant be born in 2 countries at the same time !!! It would be different if mummy was on holiday abroad when the sprog popped out , but apart from that it should be black or white !!! There should be a certain timescale , ie , how long you lived in the country of your birth .
  5. Thats another area that needs sorting , either your born as an Englishman , or born as an Aussie , all this 'change passport' nonsense has too stop . Even this forum has a Welshman who swears he is Australian despite being born over here and living many years here............
  6. Agreed , the Ref was a dick . He's above the tapes i presume , so surely someone in authority near the first bend area could have alerted him to the bleedin' obvious ? He could clearly see from he tv replays the gate malfunctioned , and could have re-run the heat . But then , referees and common sense are an alien concept . As concerns the meeting , the track itself was poor , and were there more than a thousand in attendance ? Running a speedway GP in Italy is a bit like awarding the footy world cup to a hotbed of football like Qatar........
  7. Many thanks.....Small point though , Great Britain is spelt wrongly !
  8. Thanks for the info guys. If anyones interested in having it when i've read it (no charge) , leave forwarding addy details in a message to me on here and i'll post it on , else it will only end up in a box in the loft !!!
  9. Just fishing for a bit of info really , but while clearing out some of my dads gear i came across a 1948 edition of Stenners Speedway Annual . I've never of this before , and wondered if some of u fellows can shed a bit of light on it . Its about the same size as a paperback book and crammed with more statistics and reviews than u can shake a stick at , plus loads of pics . One article i'm about to read is an interview with Vic Duggan , by Charles Ochiltree (ran Coventry for years didnt he ?) .Can anyone shed any light on the Stenners Annuals , how many editions , length of run etc ? Any help would be appreciated .
  10. Yes of course , i think ur missing the point that the elite league , or any league for that matter is a team compo , whereas the GP is purely an individual event . A rider , theoretically , if he so wished , could ride in only the GP's , and if he was the winner at the end of the series , he would be World Champion .
  11. Very subtle ! Not thinking of joining the fast freddie fan club then lol ??
  12. Sky supports and sponsors speedway , thats the reason i have it , plus it shows the majority of the live footy matches and most other top sporting events , Sky puts its money where its mouth is to bring us these sports , so instead of whinging you know what to subscribe to instead of trying to go to cheaper options surely ???
  13. It always rains at Vojens , should have held the final at Kings Lynn
  14. So , by your reckoning , the Millenium Stadium should not host a GP , they dont have any team at all riding there . Or is it because they have good facilities and can provide a good racing strip ? I think you're slightly hoisting yourself by your own petard . If any stadium is good enough and provides good racing , i dont care what level the hosts team rides at .
  15. Great meeting , and congrats to Holder . I thought the crowd was way down on previous years , and the top tier on start/finish line was nearly empty from where i was seated on the third bend .
  16. Agreed. Here comes another dozen or so pages of gloating , real speedway fans ? As for the crap about him never being in control , never heard such crap in my life , he's one of the most talented riders out there . No-one likes seeing any rider get hurt , so those that wanna post bile carry on so we can all laugh at your sad attitude . Rant over .
  17. She could if she asked me nicely.............
  18. Anyone know what the weather is gonna like for tonight ?
  19. I really dunno why they ever bother having a rider/ref hotline , ever seen a ref change his/her mind when a rider challenges a decision ??
  20. Best u change your sig then . If i was French , i'd consider it racist , as you proved above
  21. You really have a chip on your shoulder . Whats racist about critising a ref who in many peoples eyes made a decision that favoured his fellow countryman ?
