  1. Anyone seen any racing yet ? Buster needs to get rid of that 80% clay rubbish , been the most dire meeting i've seen for many a year.
  2. Well you aint getting any younger.......
  3. Covers are fine for light rain or the odd heavy shower. Torrential rain not so. Water has this habit of getting anywhere.
  4. Why so ? He might not be 100% fit , but from a neutral perspective , he's lost his bottle. His second ride was nothing short of embarrasing , he made the gate , but as soon as he heard a rider close behind him going into the 3rd bend he hoisted the white flag by casually moving wide to let both KL riders through.(it was in front of me, it was deliberate imo).
  5. So did Neville Tatum but only they (or pit crew) knew i guess ! Plus of course PK was always wearing glasses , perhaps a Wolves fan could let us know if he wore them while racing ? I'll ask Tony Lethbridge , if anyone knows , he might !
  6. Jimmy Squibb and Bert Harkins i believe rode wearing spectacles at times but not certain about this.
  7. Possibly. I rather think that with his talent it was a way of earning shedloads before entertaining us lot at the County Ground the following Monday But seriously , the GB riders lack horse power. The talent is there , the power is not.
  8. The big question is , will the Poles be riding the same cc bikes as the rest tonight ? I've had suspicions in the past when their bikes in the WC (at home) suddenly turns into rocket ships.
  9. This seems to have been endemic with Swindon riders over the decades
  10. Right correct thread this time ! After going to both meetings seems Poole made a slightly better effort to keep the dust down slightly. OTA was a shambles dust wise , the only time the bowser came out later on in the meeting it covered about a 6ft wide near the airfence. Next race all 4 riders stuck to the inside so more eye irritating dust. Even the kid on the bike before the meeting was kicking up dust , its hard to believe such a good track can have a curator/management that has such disregard for its preparation. Must try harder.

  12. Barry Briggs has probably been the only net recipient of changes for the last 20 years.
  13. It's still the ghastly little trick track its always been. So many great speedway tracks gone but still left with crap tracks like Monmore and Lakeside . It's a travesty.
  14. Matousek and Rob Grant from opposing riders. From a Falcons perspective , you really didnt want to be on the outside of Alan Rivett or Frank Andersen.
  15. That their business. Do you tug yourself silly most nights Sidney ? Allegedly so , but thats none of my business either
  16. As far as i'm aware the Queen is still the head of the commonwealth so it doesnt matter either way.
  17. Maybe he just enjoys it , and the record books will show him to be one of the best ever. And he wouldnt have cheated like Penhall in 1982 letting countrymen past him to qualify for the intercontinental final whilst pulling wheelies at the back. Grin has more class than he ever had.
  18. It was never a starter really and those who thought it was need a reality check. I only live 2 miles from the racecourse and even in summer you'd have meetings abandoned due to fog. Its on too high ground for evening speedway.
  19. Whilst i see where your coming from , many like myself dont like tiny tracks , the County Ground it aint. And contrary to what a few folk have said earlier , the Haldon project was more of a feasability study , and next to no legal fees were involved. There were expenses , but few legal on the scale mentioned.
  20. Fingers crossed for the lad , lets hope we get some glimmer of light from what sounds light a dreadful accident. Puts most of our dreary lives into perspective when you hear bad new like this.
  21. Anyone who says speedway is boring gate and go should be force fed heat15. Rest of the meeting was very good also , better that the wibbly wobbly stuff last night at Lakeside , last heat decider or not.
