World Cup - Wroclaw July 2023

Havent read through this thread , but why cant we replace Ellis with Bomber ? At least if they have dirt on it , he'd battle for points. There are weak links , then there is Ellis -
When is this carnage and waste of time going to stop ? We have riders moving an inch and red lights. Riders making perfect starts and red lights. Isnt it time to stop this rubbish , and go back to red light for tape touching only (apart from 1st bend incidents). If some want to jump let them , the exclusion for touching is on them. Its really grinding my arse now to the point its hardly worth watching.

Why didn't the ref let that go when SN penalised himself ? -

Bet365 have this down as an 2030 tapes up. Is this correct ? And if so why ! -
A great loss , speedway guy through and through. Often used to jump on the County Ground tractor back in the day and do 360's with the grader. Most def Mr Eastbourne speedway. Condolences to his family and friends.

They should at least rip the starting gates up to make it a fair contest. If ya on gate 4 , you might as well forget it. Thanks for your answer though. -

Do they grade the track ? The blue groove is there every race. -

Heat 3. What part of jumping the start didnt the referee see ? Pointless having them sometimes. -
Reider Eide was also a pretty decent longtrack rider , i remember watching him win the first longtrack meeting a couple of miles up the road at Haldon in 1978 , against a damn decent field. Not sure about his results in Europe though.

Gp Riders Engine Tuners
Phlipphlopp replied to lynnboy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Personally i think riders get duped by tuners. You can stick an engine on a dinner plate. It doesnt consist of many parts , and there only so much you can do with them staying within the rules. The difference between the tuners is wafer thin , not enough to make a difference on the track. -
Poole V Swindon Semi Final 1st Leg 11/9/17

Kelvin says they've had a lot of water (rain) on the track. So why the hell did they have a hose pipe watering down the 1st and 2nd bends ? They must be bonkers. -
Just glad i had the privilege of watching him most Monday nights for several seasons. You cant compare riders from different era's , its like trying to compare Pele with Messi. Both greats but you cannot compare. Cant be bothered to check , but didnt he in one season only get beaten 7 times , 2 of those were for engine failures ? 11.8 something average . Crazy. Best in his era , no dangers.

Like the GP's , i've always said they should have some junior races before a meeting to send the shale around. Can give them the benefit tonight looking at the weather forecast.
