Any rights to the licence expire 3 years after closure

Their statement specifically mentions the 2026 championship. Unless of course the one league is to be called the championship... If one bloke knows it should be Godfrey
-
11 point average!
-
Presumably the championship are trying to address the issue that has now blighted the Premiership where the outcome of the league is clear before a race is run If it spreads the better riders throughout the league and stops the top 3 or 4 from signing effectively 2 number 1's then I'm in favour

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?

It'll never be any different without an independent league body running the sport and that won't happen -

Nothing save for Baggpuss's post on this thread on Saturday -
There have been weekly meetings i believe The last I heard a consensus hadn't been reached but I've not heard anything after the last one
-
As it stands though it's pretty clear that Lynn would be bottom of a 5 team league Perhaps this year they'll try building the team differently
-
Again

The one I'd heard was the cross border one although I've since heard that's off again As you say it's the rumour season

Maybe Sheffield and Leicester might require lower costs especially with the loss of tv revenue?

Fricke on his way back down from "up North"?

Telford Tigers had a couple of those back in the Chuck Taylor era

Well done to the Save Panthers crew and also the Council for finally seeing sense Hopefully the land owners will now have a serious rethink

If they want big subscriber numbers its going to have to be something like £20 per month absolute maximum for say 7 months =£140, -
So the site proposed by Cradley is green belt?

If there's anything in the Northampton speculation it's even harder to see how that could work with no tv deal
-
The article with PS in the speedway star said... Team manager Peter Schroeck revealed the news on Wednesday, confirming the speculation of recent weeks that the plug would be pulled on the club’s top-flight operation. The Spires’ outstanding ROWE Motor Oil Premiership fixture against Leicester has provisionally been rearranged for Thursday, September 25 and will be the team’s final meeting. Schroeck confirmed that Oxford will concentrate on the Cheetahs and Chargers teams in 2026.

What about Northampton?
noaksey replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
They'd need someone to hang it on from the sport itself Tai perhaps? -

Hey lads welcome we'll give you no help whatsoever in building a competitive team but Oxford and Birmingham aren't running this year! Good luck! The rest -
There's a huge difference between a stadium and derelict industrial land. 1 they will probably have other plans for it 2 if they were prepared to entertain the idea they'd want full commercial rates (see Perry Barr offer to Tolley to rent the whole stadium once the dogs were going) 3 there's no guarantee of the speedway being able to obtain planning consent which could tie the site up for many months with no guarantee of success
