So the site proposed by Cradley is green belt?

"Oxford's decision to focus on the championship" Today's Star
-
If there's anything in the Northampton speculation it's even harder to see how that could work with no tv deal
-
The article with PS in the speedway star said... Team manager Peter Schroeck revealed the news on Wednesday, confirming the speculation of recent weeks that the plug would be pulled on the club’s top-flight operation. The Spires’ outstanding ROWE Motor Oil Premiership fixture against Leicester has provisionally been rearranged for Thursday, September 25 and will be the team’s final meeting. Schroeck confirmed that Oxford will concentrate on the Cheetahs and Chargers teams in 2026.

What about Northampton?
noaksey replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
They'd need someone to hang it on from the sport itself Tai perhaps? -

Hey lads welcome we'll give you no help whatsoever in building a competitive team but Oxford and Birmingham aren't running this year! Good luck! The rest -
There's a huge difference between a stadium and derelict industrial land. 1 they will probably have other plans for it 2 if they were prepared to entertain the idea they'd want full commercial rates (see Perry Barr offer to Tolley to rent the whole stadium once the dogs were going) 3 there's no guarantee of the speedway being able to obtain planning consent which could tie the site up for many months with no guarantee of success

My money is on Leicester
-
I'd guess at Lawrence Rodgers being behind the Buxton thing
-
I suppose the salient question is does Sheffield Speedway in its current state stand on its own two feet
-
Are there any more Tolley's out there? Guess we will find out soon enough

SGP New promotor from 2026
noaksey replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Presumably until they can get costs under control they won't be sanctioning anything that will potentially cost money. Not very exciting but it might save the series in the long term -
Interview with Schroek in the Star calling time on their premiership experiment and backing 1 league in 26
-
You never know I suppose but I'd be amazed if CVS were interested in promoting elsewhere. He's getting on a bit now and I wouldn't even be sure he'd come back as Wolves promoter

Why would anyone buy a speedway club? Run possibly or lease but not buy surely
-
Sheffield now up for sale

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
noaksey replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Presumably they can't prempt an official statement from the BSPL either.. -

If you take Oxford's statement at face value then there's an "exciting new era" for British Speedway about to kick off That most certainly won't be a continuation of the existing set up whichever way it might try to be dressed up -
Presumably now Oxford have made a statement of sorts we'll get something from the BSPL shortly regarding this "exciting new era" for British Speedway
-
Harry's in tray just got bigger...
-
No surprise whatsoever What now for the premier league?
-
Acquired the rights from who? The BSPL?
-
I've never known Redknapp to mention speedway, I've never seen him at Poole or any other track for that matter Perhaps he's introducing Bet Victor as the new League sponsors... Triffic

What about Northampton?
noaksey replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes agreed, I meant more backing the project rather than running it per se. I wouldn't try and open Northampton whilst Brandon is still up in the air A large proportion of expected fans would surely come from Coventry way? -
