  1. A massive hat tip to the Bandits promotion and to Mr Dickson for getting us out of a sticky situation after it appeared Rory was unable to return. Cook and Kildemand are rivals to any top 2 in the league and in Borke, Hagon and Kemp we have some exciting talent which is sure to improve. An exciting season to look forward to for sure and I for one think this team is the business.
  2. Regarding Jye, Berwick’s loss is most certainly Workingtons gain and he is a far better rider than his 4.98 average suggests. I’d fancy him to put at least a point on that and prove any doubters wrong. Those who “bagged” on Jye at Berwick were a vocal minority and I know that the large majority of Bandits faithful are disappointed he has left and will be sure to give him a rousing reception on his return to Sheilfield Park, I have no doubt he will “haunt” Berwick with a number of strong scores against not only us but every team in the league. He was a fantastic servant to the club and I can only wish him well for his season at Workington.
  3. If we hadn’t had bad luck this season we may not have had any at all. We have however enjoyed some great meetings and racing, I’m still catching my breath from the Superheat against Oxford a couple of weeks ago. As for next season it would be great to retain the core for next season. Kerr, Hume, Kemp, Etheridge and Hodder. Question marks will be hanging over Rory and Bastian with there injuries and whether they will be fit/willing to return. Would be happy to see Connor Coles return as he gave us fantastic effort as a guest the last couple of weeks. Rory would be extremely tough to replace but I’m confident the right man for the job will be found. Excited for the final meeting of the season on September 7th as we watch the next generation of superstars.
  4. What a weekend for the might Bandits, every single one them proving why they were signed as we dispatched the Comics and collected the Border Trophy. Racing was first class at both venues and a great season opener to wet the whistle before next weeks clash with the Tigers of Glasgow. Workington certainly seem like they could ruffle some feathers over the course of the season with Zischke and Vuolas certainly looking like hot prospects this afternoon and of course super Claus Vissing proving just how brilliant he is once again. This season is sure to be an absolute cracker.
  5. Here we go again, the mighty Bandits season starts on Saturday night against some returning foes Jewson Bandits Lewis Kerr Danyon Hume Jye Etheridge Drew Kemp Rory Schlein Freddy Hodder Bastian Borke GTS Comets Craig Cook Claus Vissing Tate Zischke Antti Vuolas Troy Batchelor Sam McGurk Celina Liebmann The Comics have pulled out all the stops in signing 3 bonafide superstars in Cook, Vissing and Batchelor and a superstar in the making in Celina Liebmann and the Bandits will have there work cut out to be lifting the Border Trophy aloft come Sunday night. The mighty Bandits however are looking extra tough this season with 3 proven heat leaders in Kerr, Schlein and Etheridge and a quartet of young and up and coming superstars to back them up. Tickets are available on the night at £20 or at the discounted price of £18 at berwickspeedway.com/tickets What a way to start the season, you won’t want to miss this.
  6. Does that mean you’ll be at Shielfield cheering on the lads for the first time since we signed Etheridge?
  7. I’m sure you did Tiger59, do you think you have enough of a lead so you can celebrate a league title?
  8. Glasgow are allowed to go well around their own track I believe, it was always going to be a tough task going up against one of the perennial contenders.
  9. Couldn’t agree more, fantastic meeting and just a shame the result didn’t go our way. Some Bandits “fans” may not agree but then again what will they complain about if we were unfortunate enough to be in the position of Newcastle, Eastbourne or so many other fan bases.
  10. Very agreeable there, another shrewd move by the management to use R/R at home, Jye, Leon and TJ will cover this fantastically I imagine. I foresee some tough opposition from messrs Pickering and Cook but nothing our Bandits can’t handle. Not to mention a certain Mr Entertainer - Lee Complin, wow. You wouldn’t want to miss this one.
  11. Real shame the weather looks against us for this one, looks like a cracker of a double header on paper. Bandits are looking a much improved side the last couple of meetings pushing both Oxford and Poole as hard as anyone else in the league has so far, not to mention some exciting opposition especially Ben Barker. The Bullets with Steve Boxall, wow now that is something to get excited about. The National League meetings at Berwick never disappoint. Excellent idea by the promotion to give you a free programme with your e ticket, that coupled with the free car park and the discount really means it’s a fantastic night out at the speedway. Come on weather, do us a favour and keep the rain away.
  12. A great fighting effort from the Bandits, everyone apart from Jye and Jonas seemed to have the speed. It’s unfortunate neither of those pair could find the setup but I’m confident they’ll be back firing soon enough. Poole are the champions elect currently and to keep it relatively tight for most of the meeting is a top effort from the lads.
