  1. Speedway clubs are diminishing in value , hence Matt Ford wanting to sell Poole before its worth nothing.
  2. Which Speedway GP's from this year would get in the all time top ten ? None of them. I've watched 5 GP's live this year and bizarrely the best GP's have been on temporary tracks, Cardiff and Warsaw. went to Krsko and Gorzow to see very little only slightly better in Torun. Regularly watch the 2010 box set on DVD to remind me just how good it used to be.
  3. Not sure where you're watching all this great speedway in Britain or in the GP series. With the very odd exception, the speedway on TV from the UK and the GP series this year have been quite dull.
  4. Well done to Poole Pirates on winning the weakest top division title ever. The quality of the speedway in the Grand Final shows why British speedway is on its knees, the product is awful. Good luck to Matt Ford trying to sell Poole on the back of that, no wonder he can't wait to get out before his business is worth nothing.
  5. Agree its uninspiring , also agree with Phil Rising that Torun is a fitting venue for the last round. It seems like speedway in Scandinavia has finally found its level, speedway in a field miles from anywhere. How many stadia GP's have come and gone in Scandinavia, 7 by my maths I think. Was hoping to do Horsens next year but that ship seems to have sailed. Still don't know how anywhere in Australia can be viable without a major benefactor which has historically shown to be a short term arrangement,
  6. Don't forget £108 for a visa just for the privilege of stepping in the country and a visit to the Russian Embassy in either London or Edinburgh to facilitate it.
  7. Back from Torun after another good trip to Poland. Firstly well done to Tai Woffinden, a deserved World Championship. He had to work for it but unfortunately for Zmarzlik the ten point gap was a bridge too far to gap to a rider of Woffinden's class and experience. If the gap had been closer, ie 4 or 5 points we may have had a different champion , the energy of the crowd and the pressure involved may have yielded a different result. Heat 1 was fantastic, but mostly the racing was ok, it probably looked better on the TV than being there. Torun is a fantastic stadium , even on my 4th visit it still amazes, the lighting is perfect and that roof is a work of art, thankfully the weather was fine as usual. The other ingredient to a good weekend is good people and I met plenty this weekend as usual, speedway fans are some of the most balanced fair people you could ever meet.
  8. It was in the speedway star " a later date will have a positive effect on accommodation prices "
  9. With the one year to go to Cardiff 2019 having elapsed luckily more hotels have come on line with availability. Unfortunately nothing shy of 150 pounds per night on the main site I use, so much for the later date " having a positive effect" on accommodation prices !
  10. Off to Torun next week. Shame the top 2 are not a little closer. Would have loved to see a last meeting one off shootout particularly in Poland with a Polish rider involved. Unfortunately can only remember a couple of occasions in the last 10 years where the championship has really gone to the wire at the last GP.
  11. Was thinking exactly the same thing, this is the final isn't it ? Good to here the commentator honestly calling how it is "processional" , he will never work for BT will he, Where as on Monday night we had BT commentators claiming packed grandstands which clearly wasn't the case to anybody who had a set of working eyes
  12. You would be even luckier these days to get a smell of Castrol R
  13. But don't forget after all this I am available to jet in for your end of season play offs if my calendar is blank
