Was more intense and exciting and you still had the spoilers to upset the top guys. I have a large collection of old vhs and dvds, usually only rewatch the old world finals or the very early gps.

I spent about 10 seasons going to Oxford and Swindon, used to like my Friday and bank holiday trips to Cowley, of course being a Leigh Adams fan, still saw him race after Swindon dropped down a league, was also good watching Hans at the fag end of his career.

I'm old school and preferred the one off final, and rounds such as commonwealth, overseas finals etc.

I don't have Bt sport anymore, and can't say I've missed the gps, was getting boring and predictable, and reading comments from this year's series sounds like it ain't getting better, time for a revamp.

Would be great if Speedway returned, but can see another off season of empty promises.
