  1. I noticed that Andreas looked very smooth and professional last night Sometimes when I watch him, he lifts the front wheel or rides the boards so close that my heart is in my mouth. Well done Andreas
  2. Looking at the incident again on video, I think Greg was lucky to stay on the bike too.
  3. I like the idea of a series of 20 heat GP rounds where each rider gets an equal number of rides. Personally I dislike the elimination system. It hardly seems fair that some riders travel long distances to ride just two races (& end up out of pocket too), and supporters of a particular rider also travelling abroad to see him in two or three races only. I'm not one of those in favour of a one-off world final, as I don't believe that the best rider in the world becomes WC with that system. Luck plays too big a part in it - a rider may not be able to compete if he's out injured at that particular time, or a rider may be riding with an injury or illness. IMO if they run a series of 20 heats each round, where every rider meets each other it would be the fairest way to find the real World Champion.
  4. Brill result Congratulations to Greg, a very worthy winner. Floppy was brilliant, battled all the way.
  5. Should have gone to Specsavers matey I'm hoarse from shouting "Come on Greg" at the telly all evening Wonderful result IMO. Just a shame that he couldn't have shared the podium with Floppy and Scott in the final, with Andreas in 4th place too. Best racing I've seen at Cardiff so far, plenty of passing. And wasn't Floppy brilliant?
  6. I have never had a problem with the Golden Double cos if a rider started 15 metres back, had a skillful team mate who sucessfully held up the opposition, and he won the race, then he deserved to get double points. But IMO this Golden Joker is just crazy Okay, maybe the rider nominated as the Joker won't necessarily win the race, but I still feel that this rule is probably more unfair on a team who are in the lead through solid 1-7 scoring than the tac-sub rule was.
  7. Like most of you on here, I'm dying to know what the rule will be if you have three heat leaders and a second string missing Surely a team can't run with one guest, 1 second string, 2 reserves and RR for the other three riders
  8. nerves getting the better of someone is called bottling it. CRUMPY BOTTLED IT. he missed the start, was easally faster than holta so maybe he should of sat back and waited but instead went for a gap that wasn't there. imagine what would have been said had nicki done that move, most people would have called him, let me think, dangerous, suicidal, reckless and of course, he's gonna kill someone. crumpy did what nicki does week in week out, ride his arse off. Bottled it is the modern term used for "chickened out". Crumpy didn't chicken out, but as you say, he was faster than Holta, and should have just had a little more patience knowing that he had four laps to make his move.
  9. I wouldn't complain at that Kevin, but don't tell the other Bees fans I've said that ;-)
  10. I'll add my congrats to Nicki too. I don't think Crumpy bottled it, but I think the nerves got the better of him. Nicki kept his cool, even after his dramatic spill.
  11. Congrats to Greg. Really pleased he won the meeting. With the big smile his face after the final, you'd have thought he'd won the title. Good on yer Greg. 8)
  12. No, Stuart was originally a Middlesborough rider I think it should have been all four back in the final, after all it was the 'final', and Nicki had already won the title. I do feel that Andreas would have got second place to Greg on the podium, which would have been a big boost to the kid. Sorry to disagree with you sazzle, but I don't think Gollob should have been excluded. I don't like the bloke, but he clearly did nothing wrong in this instance. KFC Baby certainly has the right idea. There should be three refs for GP's. We have seen so much inconsistancy in their decisions this year.
  13. I'll second that fozzie He was brilliant. Are most of the people on this forum 'Holta fans'? I'm very surprised that only one person has mentioned the incident he caused imo. I couldn't believe that Tony didn't exclude him :? Hate to disagree with my favourite rider, Sam, but I viewed the incident very differently. Sam said that AJ had his wheel in the air when Holta cut across, but the way I saw it was that AJ had his wheel down just before Holta's front wheel came up, and Holta's back wheel took AJ's front wheel. Even Nicki had to shut off quickly to avoid going into Holta as he cut across in front of him. Okay, it's a GP and everyones going for it, but imo Holta rode as though he was the only rider on the track :x  Am I wrong :?: Did anyone see it differently :?:
  14. Yeah, I'd love to know how long the ref allowed for Bo between heats 4 & 5 :?
  15. But hang on a minute, if Ole is Race Director surely it was up to him to oversee the track preparation. Was he too busy enjoying himself under the guise of entertaining sponsors etc. all week that he didn't have time to check on the track crew :?: :x
  16. Remember the old saying "if you wanna job done right, do it yourself" ;-) Maybe you should have asked her to kidnap TT instead, but then she may have taken him home herself (if I hadn't found him first ). The It Man and his Wifey were very pleased to meet you 8)
  17. Seb Ulamek has a broken bone in his hand. Not what I wanted to hear :-( , but thanks for the news beegee.
  18. I was almost afraid to watch after the first three heats. It was great to meet London Witch at last and to see Star Lady again after such a long time . Oh, and Steve Shovlar . Disappointed that Tomas didn't qualify, but Pepe deserved the win, he rode brill, and wow, Kaj really surprised me, he was in the same sort of form as he rode in the SWC, brill . Gutted for Lukas. This even puts his 2004 GP place in jeopardy if he's out for the rest of the season :-( . Anyone got any news on Seb?
  19. I've never liked Tomasz Gollob, but after that race I must admit that I'm warming to him
  20. Actually I don't like Jason Crump much, and I've amazed myself by sticking up for him, but I do believe that he was pushed to the limit when he made the retort. He had tried to find a quiet, out of the way, place to get over his anger and upset, and I believe Trees is right when she says that the Sky cameraman was just focusing on him to get such a reaction :!:
