Sheffield - for sale
THE DEAN MACHINE replied to Cue Ball's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No, it’s well prepared and on the whole smooth and except for hitting the dirt line is not hard to ride, it’s not technical and doesn’t really have straights and although it’s fast it’s not really difficult to ride at speed but it takes balls to hit the dirt line so close to the fence but as I said they could take away that dirt line but the riders want it -

The reason is business outside of speedway apparently but the dire situation speedway is in won’t of helped -

No more than any other track that has dirt on it -

It’s easy to race too. Passing is only on outside if they let the dirt build up, they could easily grade it away but that’s what the riders want, they want the dirt line -

Sheffields track is no more dangerous than any other, it’s faster for sure but its pretty easy to ride and only seems dangerous when dirt builds up on outside, jack holder- so what the sport needs villains, team manager, knows his stuff and winds up opposing fans, that’s his job, fans at least they create atmosphere especially the 2nd bend barmy army -

Tolley is waiting for something else to come along but with that venture stuck he might take the Sheffield gig as a stop gap, his right hand man has already gone elsewhere -
What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
THE DEAN MACHINE replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Is British speedway about to become a franchise, speedway futures Ltd is the brand, each track is a franchise and pay a % to the brand ? -
There is a meeting of the great minds scheduled this week, maybe it’s to discuss to top secret plan that is so big that nobody will say what it is or maybe it’s to tell them all the bspl is bankrupt, who knows, we wait with great expectations

Deactivation Of Cut Outs
THE DEAN MACHINE replied to Dickie Head's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
This answer isn’t going to be pc but the reason is on the whole the riders don’t give a hoot about rules like cut outs after a race or helmets on parade, if you see them away from speedway they are in the main just having fun and doing stuff that your average Joe doesn’t do and safety doesn’t come into it -
Weather was appalling from heat 1, track held up really well, vison was a problem, around heat 14 the rain just got heavier and heavier and by heat it was too much, fair play to all riders who got on with it and at least got 18 heats in, a few of us are staying at the track tonight in the hope of riding in an amateur meeting tomorrow, it supposed to be a dry sunny day but the track at the moment is just a flooded mud bath and it’s suppose rain for the rest of the night

That bit been for years but I hear rumblings that all is not well at bspl towers, maybe that’s the reason for the speedway futures thing

Is the bspl bankrupt ?
