  1. Imagine if the sport was motox not speedway, how much do you get paid for that ?I more than most in this sport know all about costs, time and everything else that goes with riding in the national league, I’ve ridden more meetings in the national/anatuer/conference league than any other rider ever, over the years I posted on here and numerous platforms how the league should be run, what riders should be in it, the maximum they should earn, how riders can actually make money at this level or at least break even and just about every other aspect of the 3rd tier but it always fell on deaf ears
  2. Buxton need a good team manager 😉
  3. Yes, I honestly don’t know who it is but I would think it either Louis, morris Godfrey or rob painter, all have agreed to come on at some point so I think it will be one of those
  4. There is someone of significance on the recording of 360 podcast tonight to be aired on Friday, Simon lambert and Stuart Robson are other 2 that were recruited secretly to be on it not using the usual group what’s app that’s always used
  5. I’m beginning to wonder if this 6th team talk is a smoke screen to deflect from they haven’t secured the 5th team yet and it stops people talking about the Ipswich situation until it is resolved,,if it was a done deal they would surely be able to release fixtures by now, so clearly all is not sorted
  6. Perhaps they going to introduce the 6th team in the playoff like the joker, who knows at this point ?
  7. It’s hard to go to the riders and say we need to cut your income, inflation impacts them as well, we’re going to be a lot smarter as promoters😂I haven’t gone to the riders and said this is how it’s going to be because we have lost a media contract, a rider still needs to earn a living. The words at the very top table of speedways think tank. Translated means it’s ok riders the paying public will foot the shortfall. Absolutely clueless from mike melon
  8. It was probably easier to negotiate with Germany than the current bspl
  9. In other more important speedway news, up the man cave where many speedway subjects get discussed but not solved we have got some new teabags and not just the 5000 for 50p catering ones we have previously had, oh no we have Yorkshire tea ones, I personally are beside myself with excitement at this news, this can only enhance the topics debated, which today are wolves, cradley and rider being stabbed in the back by former mechanic (not literally) and any other gossip we have
  10. The whole of speedway is top secret, the less us plebs know the better as far as the bspl is concerned, speedway futures are like the SAS, working undercover, nobody knows what they are doing
  11. That’s not how speedway works, a promotion feels they are being victimised and spits their dummy out and the rest have to compromise to stop that promotion running off home with the ball thus that promotion gets their way and the bspl calls it in the interest of the sport, add to that there are those at the top of the pecking order and there is those at the bottom
  12. Serviced an engine this week, don’t know what oil they were using but it was a dreadful smelling oil, bit like hydraulic oil type of smell, made my finger smell touching it
  13. They can’t even afford a new chair let alone a new person to sit in it
  14. They could put out a NL team and still be top 5
  15. And all that ignores the fundamental reason Birmingham wheels was set up in the first place and that should never change, I was one of those kids who it kept off the streets, not everyone likes football or athletics or any other corporate entity that is forced into our psyche,?I know the campaigners will loose but it’s not about speedway or stock cars,,it’s about corruption at council level
  16. The Black Country still has a really big speedway fan base, I was making this point to a councillor a month back, saying other than football I think speedway still has the second biggest demographic of people that follow sport in the Black Country , cricket, rugby are not big in the West Midlands at team level motox has a big participation levels but not really a fan sport, don’t think we have ice hockey in the Black Country so if they claim to pander to the electorate why is speedway not up there in their priority of sport and lesuire?
  17. On our first conversation with the stadium itself they were quick to point out it wasn’t them that kicked it out,it came from 2 Americans at entain who wouldn’t know speedway from a toilet duck so from that you can only think it’s some sort of financial decision and as documented last year those 2 people no longer work at entain, I was hoping that monmore was just a franchise of entain and make their own decisions as to what happens at the stadium but seems that isn’t the case, as long as the stadium is still there we will not give up
  18. I genuinely think I’ve become one of those people who use to go to speedway, not by choice either, with wolves closing and now Birmingham gone, my nearest track is Buxton and although I will go there a couple of times this coming season I just can’t see me going to watch speedway regularly any more, I might go to an odd match here and there but I’ve become my speedway friends, they still follow it but don’t go anymore, even having a skid myself was reduced to 2 meetings (worky IOW) in 2025, hardly worth the effort of keeping my bikes or the hours of driving to do it
  19. A long read but the Birmingham wheels project campaigners talk about the council and Perry Barr and Birmingham speedway https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1AMragEP5u/?mibextid=wwXIfr
