yes they do want a return but they have had it for free this year , the viewing figures are far in excess of what you get for free, i was just making the objective point anyway , if/ when they pay speedway then I think they have a right to be peaved about streaming , I dont subscribe to bt or sky as both are not value for money ,I subscribe to polish NC+ I get all the GPs SWC , Polish extraleague and 1st division + all the magazine programmes and speedway documentaries and now get british league too on 11 sport , not that i watch it but all uk premier football too and films , the only draw back is its in polish (some say thats better than what BT have 😉) all that for £17 a month , now thats VFM -

you could say that bt got a healthy viewing public for free this season , they didnt pay for it so why should we pay to watch it , be different if they paid speedway for it -

I just read that all the top riders have not signed contracts yet , they had a meeting and wont sign until what ?? Google translate is totally useless -
the national league has a different person so stoke wouldnt pay but it ideally has to be someone not universally liked because he is firm , like a john berry type person , speedways problem is it always appoints yes men, who are nice people but have no backbone when it comes to standing up against promoters Im not really sure what the salary should be , thats for the person to negotiate but like the airfences the money needs to be found there is a couple of promoters who want it but some of the major players dont

i was thinking more speedway itself

there were no winners in that saga but there was a big loser

I think Torun has made a good signing in rune holta , the guy has some amazing speed but I just think holder and pawel p are not reliable enough point scorers but I would imagine they will be challenging the top 4 -
Im my conversation last week with a promotor he said this is what the sport needs , 1 man who has ultimate say , no conection to any club but has a good knowledge of speedway and its a full time position that has a salary to match the responsibility that the job has but he says this is not universally wanted across the bspa and one member is very vocally against it
-
the word jolly was said to me last week by a current promoter when referring to the bash in London and it wasting money that could be used elsewhere
-
if that makes you happy , you dont see me being negative about polish speedway do you ? it has its faults but it is a totally entertaining night out , value for money , speedway that is worth traveling 1000s of miles to see and quite frankly I love it
-
what is there to be positive about ?we are witnessing the slow death of british speedway, Me and my family and most of my friends have all but stopped going to British speedway along with 1000s of others , Ive have been to more meetings in Poland than I have in England but it doesnt seem to register with the bspa or you , the sport is damaged and its been damaged by successive decisions made at AGMs , you can call me negative if you like I couldnt care less but doesnt mean Im wrong
-
they get 5 months to take a holiday , I run a buisness when do I get to take a holiday ? And if they wont turn up in the uk fine them , no wonder the sport is a mess , its not just riders who cant be arsed to turn up, its promotors too , Im gonsmacked at your reply , I expected you to give a good reason why its abroad ,the bspa need to take a real good look at themselves because its just a social club
-
Ban Richard Hall , he shouldnt get a licence anyway if the SCB has some balls and stood up for the suppliers to speedway who are owed money
-
politicians are brought and sold like cotton and if you think having one as a friend in politics is in any way more benificial than money then Im not the one who is way off , this has been proven many times with now housing estates that used to be stadiums where the was considerable lobbying to save them , politicians will say anything for a vote and do pretty much anything for money and that includes stabbing speedway in the back, next you will be saying the AGM should be held abroad because the winter sun helps the members to come up with better ideas , actually while on the subject where is the AGM this year ?
-
add that money to the chairman's salary(which isn't substantial)and a couple of other money wasters and your half way to the salary of the chief executive to independently run the sport instead of the usual "who is going to pay for it " line that keeps getting trotted out , the absolute first thing the sport has got to get sorted is a chief executive with absolute power and be totally independent , without it we might aswell shut the sport down now and no sucking up to any MP is going to change that Another thing I would like to see next season is before every meeting machine examiners check every fuel tank and both fuel taps opened , then the fuel for that meeting is supplied like it is in Poland from one 45 gallon and tanks are filled before the race , its not difficult to impliment and not expensive either but it makes it harder for the cheats.
-
the jolly and a considerable waste of money was one of the bspa members description not mine although thats what it is , is nick brown going to form the independent body to save the sport from oblivion ? If not who cares ,low level politicians are in politics for one reason , themselves ,quite frankly the bspa should be locked in ACU house and not let out until they can form some sort of plan for the future of the sport , you can try to justify this jolly up all you like but its costs could be better used elsewhere
-
I see its the annual jolly up at parliament to celebrate the continual and growing failure of British speedway , apart from a couple of NL teams what us there to celebrate ? it is a big waste of time and money , even some of the members think its a waste , one promoter told me last week they waste lots of money on it that could be better spent elsewhere like contributing to an independent body to run the sport , every time I see this jolly up I just feel like we the fans are being kicked in the teeth and laughed at behind our back 😡
-
because riders and tuners dictate the sport and are not interested in the sports well being but you can still adjust cam timing in a sealed engine ok I will spell it out for you , if every rider used the GTR and it was sealed no one would have an advantage or disadvange , they would all work and costs would be cut more than half , happy now, you should be head of the bspa you are such a self proclaimed genius, instead of rubbishing the GTR put an alternative forward
-
im not flogging any horse , makes no difference to me what engines are used, but I can see the potential an engine like the GTR could have for the future of the sport , in case you missed it Freddie led the world on one and was Number 1 for his british team and polish team on them and has been no better since changing back to GM ,they do work, its just no tuners are trying to get the best out of them like they are with GM ,nobody has lost money on one, as one senior person involved with them told me you have to look at the rider more than the engine , half of them spend needless £1000s on engine tuning and go nowhere but dont ever look at themselves,, had we known all along you had the answers to speedways ever increasing costs we could of just given you the job and not been in this mess now
-
to point yes but with GTR you can just put it in the bike and go you wont do that with a GM, most GMs come in kit form and are then ported etc , a GTR comes as an engine ready to use and they are all the same, you could buy Freddies actual engine from him and find it still didnt feel any good
-
im not missing the point , you can buy the same engine as Freddie was using all the same parts but its how you set your timings thats different ,its the same parts , same engine, its just how those parts are timed and set is where the difference is, double over head cam engines are notoriously hard to set to work well and this was proved with the GTR, Freddie was obviously experimenting with different cam timing and maybe compression but he had Gerhard by his side and when he found that set up he kept it too himself and thats where the problem was for others, to buy any engine and expect the same performance for you wont happen , you would have to be the same weight same height and have exactly the same riding style as freddie and use exactly the same chassis and that just wont happen, the engine is off the shelf but its a hundred different factors that make it different and some like jetting are not even on the engine
