  1. Yet again you have missed the point, it doesn’t matter what I think of the podium or belle vue or whatever it is,,it’s what potential folk who see speedway maybe for the first time, going forward I’m not the potential market and neither are you,my family is on that wall and I’ve ridden for belle vue and my Mrs and lad have a BV season ticket and I’ve worked tirelessly for 30 years trying to change the sport at different positions and habe had a go at just about every job in my he sport and literally lost £1000s doing it so yes I’m going to have my 10pence worth until the sport finally realises it’s in the wrong path and need to address the little things first like the optics
  2. Optics are the very things that form people’s perception, often they don’t even have to be real, they can just a show but when you’re trying to attract new people to the sport optics are often their first trigger leading on to their intrigue, ouch can’t seem to understand this as he is so stuck in his own world of what he does or doesn’t like about speedway
  3. Maybe we could build a podium out of the buy,a brick wall, it would give me something else to bang my head against while you continue to miss the point
  4. No point in trying to point out what I’m trying to say because your just not getting it, to a degree it doesn’t matter what your grievances are with the sport no matter how much they are valid because you’re already there,,it’s how do we move outside your little bubble and attract a new audience that is vital to the future of the sport and the world we live in is very superficial and first impressions are everything, it doesn’t matter what the podium is made of pallets or whatever but the causal viewer doesn’t need to see it because thats their perception formed before a bike is even on a track, try looking past your own nose
  5. Oh my,someone DOES need to calm down, another one that accepts and makes excuses for mediocrity and poor practices and wonders why we are where we are and because you obviously need a little help the post I made was sarcasm
  6. Bet the people of Northampton are sick to death of all this advertising of a new sport coming to their town but as it was pointed out to me on here a couple of weeks back no point in advertising it until the deal is done to run speedway 🙄
  7. We can’t even afford his cardboard cut out of him
  8. And right there is why the sport is on its arse because you justify mediocrity, it matters, the little things all add up, if you want the sport to expand to the outside world it matters,?every little thing matters no matter if you think it doesn’t, at least Phil morris understands this, first impressions matter more now than ever
  9. Well looking at her she well below average
  10. You are using your club bias to forge a debate against other clubs, be better and that goes for all clubs, it’s not acceptable anywhere, your argument is well they are crap so we can be crap too
  11. The media day will have all the riders in their race suits sat on rows of pallets at belle vue and on the end there will be 7 life size cardboard cut outs of riders like Dag Lovas, ove fundin, trond stretting lars munkerdal Glenn Doyle, Das sumner and Edgar stangerland who will be representing Brafield badgers this season only they couldn’t find the Glenn Doyle one so they got a Julie Hartley brewer one hoping nobody would notice
  12. Sometimes it’s just the little things but as usual nobody cares, people took the pee out of the pallet podium last year and it’s still used 🙄
  13. They set the whole show up pretending it’s real and film it, I had a stall right behind them at the classic off road show a few weeks back, a 2 day event, they turn up on the Sunday for a couple of hours, set a fake stall out, pretend to buy/ haggle with someone for their own stuff film it then film them buying a cup of tea and then pack up and leave, all done in a couple of hours, nothing new most tv is scripted and fake, they not inventing the wheel
  14. But not ahead of anyone else who travelled to the far corners of Europe in a vain effort to qualify
  15. The conspiracy theorist in me says woffinden was never going to ride but to put a Ukrainian straight in to the line up was a too obvious bit of virtue signalling so do it by the back door
  16. Just a quick question, if you’re just a fan, have no job or involvement in any way, you’re literally just a fan do you sometimes feel like it’s us and them ? A bit like it’s a clique and you’re not in it ?
  17. We are dealing with 3 separate councils over many sites and so far no they are not despite what they say in public, I can’t say too much in public but some of the stuff from the councils sometimes borders on a Monty python sketch.
  18. Be interesting to see the councils response to the latest cradley situation, although they not keen on the rocky lane site they say they want to help, well they have been presented with another 4 sites of which 2 of them they own, we went to see those 2 on Thursday and they are as good as perfect for a speedway location, both sites are unused and have been for a number of years, so do they want to help ??? That’s the question
  19. While these 2 and their fake tv programs should not be ignored they appeal to the old generation and they are not the future of speedway, we need to be looking to influencers, now don’t get me wrong imo they are useless twats but for some reason they appeal to the yoof and that’s where we need to be looking
  20. I’ve told this before but it is relevent about schools, back around 20 years ago when the sport had the speedway riders association we had monthly meetings where various issues/problems/ ideas were discussed, one of the ideas was to visit schools to promote the sport and we the SRA would send 2 or 3 riders to each one(whoever lived closest to the school) as there was a bit of money in the pot we would fund the travel expenses ourselves, so come the AGM me,Craig boyce and Shane Parker sat at the table with all the promoters and told them what we would like to do except we didn’t tell them how it would be paid for and all we got back was it costs too much money and not worth doing for the cost and in a nutshell went down like a lead balloon and quickly moved on too the next subject, over the years I’ve done various promotions for different teams, been to shopping centres, rugby matches, ice hockey matches and other days and even took my bikes to the scouts one night and to a car show and still do Telford off road show every year, I don’t know how much success any of them have but to me we need to be everywhere no matter how small the presence or significance is, a lot of tiny things put together make a big thing, you do nothing you get nothing
