  1. Yes could also of been a disaster too on a serious note I have this belief that it takes a certain type of personality to get the best out of a certain job, like I know I am a very good competent quick spanner man but that doesn’t mean I’m the right mechanic for certain riders to be better riders ,I’ve been a spanner man for a few but turned down others because either I can’t stand them or I don’t think I’m what they need to be a better rider ,i know some TMs and spanner men (current and in past)that are just not right for that team or rider but do it anyway and I fit into that, I don’t think I’m a TM person , former riders don’t necessarily make good managers either ,it comes down to personality, I also turned down buxton for TM job too, I like Phil morris and get on with him, had a chat with him in a club in Toruń a couple of years back about the GP riders and the series in general and I understand how hard his job is and listening to him thinking this GP thing isn’t for me either
  2. This is great news, have they agreed a deal with the landlords for 2023 ?As a little side note regards the TM job, I was offered the team managers job at Birmingham by Graham Dury a few years ago now, I turned it down as it’s not something that interests me and he then got Phil morris in
  3. Last night was another heartbreaking nail in the coffin in my 52 year old love affair with British speedway, we had some rain and the headless chicken came out live on tv, I don’t know what I feel for the sport anymore, it has wore me down, maybe I’m living in the backtrack era looking through my rose tinted specs but what are we doing ? Where are we going as a sport ?
  4. But for a broken clip dave Jessup was very unlucky in I think it was the 81 world final so I think he deserves the wild card for cardiff, failing that I have my weslake ready for the Isle of Wight next Thursday, I’m sure I could squeeze cardiff in on the Saturday too although I might have to give practice a miss as I’m working on the Friday
  5. Get out the sawdust and get some overalls on and get on with it
  6. We have got good deals in the valleys about 15 miles north of cardiff, around £50 a room per night, we have also stopped at a youth hostel which was £10 a night and the last time we took the camper and stayed on a site 5 miles from cardiff for £25 per night
  7. Will be interesting to see, I feel there is a lack of buzz this year and in the GP in general and there is a looming financial collapse on the plus side we are in a better position on the world stage than we have been for a long time with a quarter of the field being British
  8. I suppose it does but how can (example) block A be £45 and block B be £60 when they are pretty much the same seat with same view
  9. If they can sell 1 ticket for £22 they can sell all for £22 , I paid £80 to sit a block away from my disabled son as I was told there were no more seats available to the wheelchair access only to find there were plenty and the stadium staff were more than happy to let me have one, that my friend is being ripped off
  10. With the SON failing to attract a decent crowd and Poland’s league crowds visibly down (with the exemption of Częstochowa last week) are people feeling the world financial pinch ? People picking a choosing their entertainment? Be interesting to see if cardiff crowd stands up, personally I’ve always felt a bit ripped off by some of the ticket prices at Cardiff but we will see
  11. If there was a pot of gold in the person trying to open a track, then land would appear everywhere, no matter what objections or how many houses or whatever is around it, it would happen I’ve seen this first hand on more than a few occasions now, however as it is at the moment nobody who has the pot of gold is stupid enough to blow it on our sport, on the other hand there are a few willing people who want to open a track but don’t have the finances and a few land owners who would have it but as soon as the land owners find out there is no pot of gold it becomes a no go, as with life in general it’s about money and speedway doesn’t have any
  12. As someone who spends a lot of time working all over London the answer is no
  13. Congratulations to Australia, personally would of put bewley on gate 4 but hey ho great result for GB
  14. Racing is nearly none existent but the points results are making this meeting enjoyable watching
  15. This news about woffinden could make us stronger, with him there is an expectation from us to win without him that pressure will be less, bewley and lambert are more than capable, take the expectation away and let them do their thing
  16. And that’s why he has a lot of haters, well that and he is successful of course
