Hans Andersen retires
THE DEAN MACHINE replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Hans has been a fantastic servant to speedway and british speedway too, it was heartbreaking to watch him struggle last season not only to score points but at times even to ride the bike, he is a far better rider than that, I can remember him having some amazing meetings round monmore green as an away rider -
Graham Drury RIP

The end of the DT500 was the reduction of the carb size to 34mm, they were thirsty engines and worked well with bigger size carbs -
Discovery need to focus there thought on what happens outside the track especially in Cardiff and Warsaw, make the events more fan oriented , the monster rig thing is just dull, think festival with the GP bring the big finish

Graham Drury RIP
THE DEAN MACHINE replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I raced for Graham at long Eaton, found him very straight to the point and hard to get on with , bumped into him at various different tracks over the years but it wasn’t until I was a mechanic at Birmingham and he was promotor that I really understood him, we had many chats about the state of the sport, he was always backing up my views privately that I was spouting on social media at the time although kept telling me not to swear on them, telling me to keep at them, I asked him if he shared these views why he never spoke out ? He said “the sport had been good to him and he didn’t want to appear ungrateful “speedway needs a Graham Drury now, thoughts with Denise and the family at this sad time.RIP Graham -
Pawlicki is still a decent rider and if anything is a lot more ruthless than he used to be, bordering on the Nicki Pedersen school of riding ,milik should do ok in this league, again another hard rider who doesn’t back out of challenges lampart is a bit of a gate and go merchant but he can gate so imo will do well around Perry Barr, I think brum will be hard to beat at home and hopefully competitive away

Lampart is a decent signing and should double figure score most meetings, he is certainly fast enough and has good equipment and does mix it in the extraleague,

Torquay United Football Club.

Osbourne is a business man nothing more nothing less and his decisions/opinions are based on money, when you get the higher up the money chain you find morals and scruples get less and less, people like him would stamp on their own Nan to get the money, if speedway was in a better financial state he would change his stance, he doesn’t break any laws he just doesn’t do or say anything in favour of speedway cause it’s not making him money -
Zmarzlik has every part of his game covered and if one part is Beaton by an opposing rider it doesn’t matter he makes up in a different part, he studies other riders, he knows what other riders will do often before even they do, every rider in the GP can beat zmarzlik regularly but that doesn’t matter because he knows when it matters he will triumph because if they have a fault he will make them do it, add to all that and has any other rider got more corner entry speed than zmarzlik? And more importantly hold it tight when they get there, the guy has the lot, talent, discipline, backroom team, bikes, track craft, ability to gate or read a first corner and a will to win that I just don’t see in many riders, an example of that is watch zmarzlik in a nothing meeting in Poland, there is no “just there for the money” attitude, it’s 100% all the time, laguta got the better of zmarzlik by not being a better rider or racer but just by doing what laguta does and that’s gate and go fast and win races, he didn’t really let zmarzlik get a chance to pin him back, any other year zmarzlik 2nd place score would of been 1st, others like Doyle spends to much time riding the riders not the race and his discipline at the start line is shocking , madsen is too equipment dependent, lindgren is there but just doesn’t have that something to get him over the line and although they all of capable of winning a GP or even being world champion I don’t see anyone toppling zmarzlik until his desire fades and gaps in his armour being to show

It’s not the first time he has had a pop at me, thing is both times he has had a go I wasn’t talking about him, i was making general points about speedway, I couldn’t care less really, I don’t retaliate, I tried to answer his points but he then just got personal so I just ended by saying enjoy you’re career I know I did,I saw the week after the British final he was chucked off speedway friends on FB for insulting some fan, reading his post after his drug ban(with a smug grin) I felt he was laughing in the face of the SCB and speedway itself -

A couple of weeks before his failed test he said some cheap remarks about me and then said I should show him some respect, you can imagine how I laughed when he got caught -

New Club for 2024?
THE DEAN MACHINE replied to PotteringAround's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I can’t see it either but it’s really the only shale track that is ready to go other than Bradford and their future is unsure, non of the other venues banded about have a shale track that would be ready in 5 months -

I’m now anti greyhound racing, I want it banned, it’s cruel for the dogs, on top of that gambling destroys millions of lives, I want that stopped too -

As I drove out of the gates last night, it really hit home, I was born within a mile of Monmore Green, my family brought me up on the terraces at Monmore Green, I raced my first laps of my career at Monmore Green, I met my Mrs on the terraces of Monmore Green, I saw my all time hero Sam Ermolenko at Monmore Green and I’ve met 1000s of people who I call friends at Monmore Green, I hope a new piece of land can be found for a new track but it will never be Monmore Green, a million memories have just been crushed by corporate greed (again) for me last night the heart of Wolverhampton as a city stopped beating and it hurts- 77 replies

Guess Who?
THE DEAN MACHINE replied to TheWellBehavedWorrall's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
It’s your son or grandson, I brought the bike off you -
Cradley’s biggest problem is an obvious one, the lack of land available in the Cradley /Dudley area, I have seen first hand the efforts to secure some land to put a track but you would be surprised how much land is owned by the church and they are not interested in putting a speedway track on any of it, there has been a few glimmers of hope over the last year or so but they have ultimately come to nothing but the search goes on, hopefully one site will be the breakthrough, the will is there

Maybe Charles and Eddie song “would I lie to you “ would be more appropriate?

Swindon Robins 2020
THE DEAN MACHINE replied to Crazy robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Why is it shocking ? How long have you been around speedway ? The bspl and it’s members dont give a damn about fans, the sport in this country is where it is because of crap like this, fans are the be all of the sport and are treated like dog dirt, the way the Swindon fans have been treated since they closed is disgusting
