  1. The weight of titanium rod and valves and any other other part used is only goin to be a small difference from the steel ones but it is claimed that it will produce an extra 1.5bhp which is nothing really but in a riders mind it will feel like a lap. An extra 1.5 bhp is useless unless it it can be put on to the track . It definatly wont be any use at a track like lakeside where 1.5bhp less is better but riders will still want titanium and they will have it and sadly the fans are the ones at the end of the chain who will end up paying for something they couldnt care less about and does nothing to enhance the sport
  2. and didnt antonio lindback ride one of rickardsson's special frames and say it was the worst handling bike he had ever ridden
  3. yes what you are saying is correct in theory , but with speedway being mostly in the head ,riders will look for any advantage whatsoever and buy whatever the latest trick bit is ,if it works or not dosent matter , if chris holder came out in next years gp with a rubber glove over his front mudgaurd and says its a new design and wins the gp every rider will believe this is fact and buy one ,a few years ago they came out with adjustable headstocks on the frames ,half the riders hate them ,half dont even know how to use them but they all got them because a few riders like them , this placebo effect is not just in speedway its in all motorsport , they will see the guys at the top have got titanium and straight away they believe they are at a disadvantage ,its already in their head that they are beat ,and when that happen you wont beat them and thats why everyone will want it ,it dosent matter if it actually better performance or not ,its just believing that you are on the same level i am told the rev limiter will not be in till next season
  4. I have questioned before why its still not banned for league matches and just let the gp riders use it
  5. There future of speedway has got to be a level playing field and this is going the opposite way and just adding extra cost that is not needed Speedway is littered with parts that are no better than the basic ones but riders at all levels buy them cause of the "gp riders use it" and titanium will be no different. All this is doing is making speedway more and more about the engine and less about the rider and that will be the end of speedway
  6. But if everyone was driving a ford fiesta its a level playing field because its not litterd with faster ferraris . And it would be a better sport for it. I know they buy these parts for the look, im one of them
  7. This decision should of been based on how many extra people titanium will pull through the turnstiles. The answer is none. Ban it. It has no benifit for speedway at all. Nobody wants ity
  8. I agree it wont make a difference but both pl and nl riders will want and will get these titanium parts. Why do they use straight back ends instead of loops. No difference in performance but double in price. Why do riders insist on straight pull wheels with fancy anadised rims?. They dont spin any faster than a standard jawa ones ,they will buy these bits. This decision is insanity with no benifits apart from the manufacturers
  9. the introduction of titanium benefets nobody in speedway , the riders are losing out the pockets and the most important people of all in speedway the fans (remember them) it isnt going to improve speedway one bit so why is it being allowed ?, imo its either the people who allow it are really really stupid and cant see the wood for the trees in which case they shouldnt be allowed to make decisions or they are accepting sweetners to push for it to be allowed , there can be no other reason for it , its just plain madness and another example of the killing of speedway . i heard a quote from one member of the bspa say "but a titanium con rod will never snap " well let me tell you when a piston breaks and they do, it usually takes a rod with it and it wouldnt matter if it was made of kriptonite it will still be bolloxed and need a new one ,
  10. You would think there would be a statue after all ive done for speedway in widnes.
  11. it might be all talk but that reads a lot more impressive than anything our lot have ever put out
  12. There is a bellend road in london named after ? Well i will leave you to guess who
  13. They are talking about modifying excisting silencers .they dont know what to do next they are like headless chickens. This silencer issue is a sad reflection of the way speedway in general is being run
  14. Good to see a club being proactive and keeping their fans informed and in peoples minds. Keep it up and hope you have every sucess in your venture
  15. ask "the know" on here ,he has ploughed a fair bit into sponsorship of speedway
  16. At one time i did want the job of nl boss when i quit riding but not anymore .i think to do it you have to tow the bspa line and thats not me . We would be at war within a month , im not saying i would of been considered for the post but i did for a while see this as something after racing , i have seen abit behind the scenes so to speak and i dont agree with it and would want to change things and well to put it bluntly its the bspa way or no way
  17. they are FIM approved ones therefore they are special and you must use those ones because nobody else can make anything as strong and safe as ones approved by the FIM its the law as far as i can see the fixings consist of 2 clips some washers/spacers they are carbon fibre so the shouldnt break
  18. i see the new heat shields for silencers are for sale on ebay at £57 without fittings and £80 with fittings , a bargain for all riders but not to worry because the FIM /SCB/BSPA are going to foot the bill for every rider because they created this problem with the new silencers so its only fair that they foot the bill , well i think thats how it works? ,oh no silly me some people in suits have a brainwave and riders have to foot the bill as usual
  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=j3jeXiTpWPc your video is like an advert for chain lube ,mine is bordering on porn
  20. because its not speedway. Speedway is 4 combustion engine noisey bikes being ridden 4laps round a dirt track by 4 brainless idiots, anything else is just not speedway
  21. Speedways problems are not what happens inside the safety fence. It dosent need to change , its the people who run it who need to change Not sure why it quoted that twice but if you ever need proof that battery power dosent work there it is . Bloody phones
  22. Electric speedway would be like being at a funeral , probly my funeral cause it will happen over my dead body. Its funny how noise isnt an issue in f1. Twice ad loud ad speedway and a track can apear in your town. Instead of bending over and getting shafted ,stand up for speedway and noisey sports
  23. Why don't we just put goals at the end of the track and replaced bikes with balls. It wouldn't be speedway but niether would electric bikes. I actually feel insulted that people could ever consider this. Cum on feel the noize I just had an idea, why dont we put an elastic band round the back wheel hub then the mechanics can push the riders backwards for 4laps till the elastic goes tight then get them to start and then let them go . Its just as much as an insult as the elecric idea is
  24. I think the electric could be better used plugged into a chair for all the people who think this is a good idea This is blasphemy
