The lights would run off a generator just like the rest of the electric there, you could run it with 3 posts like lakeside did on the center green, at Carmarthen back in the day we run a night meeting with the lights borrowed from the roadworks on the A365 over the valleys, they worked ok,there was a load of lights brought by Ken moss back in the day but never got put up but they probably rotten now, Buxton can run on any day so clashes is easily avoided, at this point I don’t think the 30 mile rule would apply, they are desperate,, this is nby no means an ideal solution but it’s where we are as a sport and from what I hear about the costs at Northampton it’s a damn sight cheaper

Upgrades ? It needs lights which isn’t a big deal, yes it’s basic but the other options like Northampton are ridiculous money, one other option is the Isle of Wight, good track and stadium, downside they wouldn’t get the crowds especially out of summer season to sustain a top level wages

A month back I posted the only real viable option or at least the one that was going to cost the least amount of money, Buxton, it’s rent is peanuts, it has derby matches against Sheffield and belle vue and has a catchment area of former tracks like stoke and Wolverhampton, no it’s not ideal but if they insist on a 6th team then it’s the one that will cost the promoters the least amount of money

Unfortunately speedway has too many mercenary’s and hangers on for its own good, we missed a trick in 2020 to reset the sport onto a different better path and it looks like we are going to miss another chance and plod our way into 2026

But not smart enough to see that little things might seem nothing and immaterial but when added to lots of little things make a big thing, Dickson should have one job in the sport and that’s it and that goes for anyone in the sport, but typical of speedway at the moment is just money drip for too many in the sport, one thing I will praise Phil morris for is on race days he understands optics, the perception of what the general public see on the tv matches, it’s the little things which might go unnoticed to us because we are use to it but to a newbie or potential sponsor it stands out like a sore thumb and I hope in the not to distant future Dickson little odd job is nipped in the bud

You’re not that stupid that I need to explain,but here goes it’s doubling up, it 2 teams in the same sport,it’s conflict of interest, it’s a joke in a team sport that this is even a thing, sport teams are supposed to be territorial,it has no credibility whatsoever to the outside world looking in on our sport, is that good enough for you ?

I’ve already started on those years ago and doubling up, if you don’t see the damage then sorry to say but you are part of the problem, it starts with a small crack and through people saying oh it’s only a little crack no harm done

Yes good old Stewart Dickson reassuring the fans that his 2 jobs are safe for 2026, another situation that damages the credibility of the sport

I won’t name the ex promoter but he told me in the main they don’t really like each other which is actually healthy for the sport when they are just following the rules but not when they are the ones who are expected to make the rules

Ultimately you have got to have the want to race, there are a few out there who didnt retire because they didn’t want to race anymore but maybe struggled financially and a couple of years later finances have changed for them and they could be tempted again but British speedway needs someone to take charge of the bike side of the sport because we are spending money needlessly on engines to achieve the same results, you give the riders and tuners almost free reign and you get what we have,,engines revving a lot more faster than they actually need to with no gain for the sport

They are the current premier,they are so desperate they have been ringing round trying to find a 6th team ,the help from a championship promoter is getting the track itself up and running, nothing to do with what league they would race in, that situation is so far down the line, they still need planning permission

I haven’t ruled it out infact I’m pretty sure it’s going to happen but I don’t want it, I want 1 league, I want variety and as last year proved to me even 7 teams is not enough

Because they will want cradley in the premier, they have already asked, that’s how desperate they are and one independent championship promotion has helped out with advice and has pledged help with setting up the track if it gets the go ahead

If cradley were to get planning and open in 2027 or whenever the bspl deserve cradley to tell them where to shove their premier league, the bspl have been totally absent in cradley’s quest even when asked for help,a quote from the consultants was they were shocked how far cradley had got in their plans without any help whatsoever from their governing body

Terry Russel had 2 million, the elite had just under 3 million which went mostly on some expensive no1s and about 50,000 went to the premier league (2nd tier) and what was left (£0) went to the buying of umbrellas for the rainy day which was to inevitably going to come

Canal in Poland only got 193,000 viewers for the extraleague final down on previous years, for a bit of comparison they get 500,000 for Real Madrid/barcelona football but only get around 30,000 for Laliga football

Well that’s not strictly true, there are a few 1000 of us independent objective folk who constantly stand back and see the flaws in the bspl decision making but we are not listened too

We are talking about the bspl here, farce is their specialty, just when you think they have took farce to its absolute limit, they suprise us all and they pull a new bigger farce out of the hat, in reality come January we wouldn’t expect anything else really

There is enough riders but the quality might not be as good, there is also plenty of foreign riders willing to come but intern that might push costs up because they know they’re in demand

It’s because they are not sure what they are selling yet, I suppose they could just do a one size pass for x amount of meetings irrespective of how many leagues there are
