  1. Personally I would bring in milik for kylmakorpi , it may not make up for losing out in the playoffs but he is exciting / wild to watch and has been banging some big scores abroad lately
  2. next season there is talk of the FIM introducing a minimum bike and rider weight instead of just bike to address that exact issue
  3. while all these ideas have a valid point they all have the same end result , the rider spends money on parts with the tuner to get round this , it has to be regulated parts/engine only then the tuner can only play with settings
  4. while i agree about the principle of tyres the reality is it won't achieve anything cause tuners will just try to get the best out of their engines to suit the tyre so riders will be buying new softer cams ,flywheels etc and paying for experimenting with the tuners so basically winner winner for the tuner , the sport needs to eliminate the tuner , regulated parts in a regulated engine ,find a set of springs , valves , piston ,rod , cam that works and lasts and everybody has to use them , is that so hard ?
  5. on the subject of engine tuning ,it is become obvious that peter johns engine tuning has got a big edge over any of his rivals this season and riders not using his service are struggling, now that's great business for him but it is doing speedway no favours at all and now more than ever this issue of tuners needs to be addressed, the tuner is not what fans care about, they care about the rider, the need for the tuner has got to be reduced to just a servicer , it can be done with good leadership and strict rules ,has anybody in the current set up got the balls to take the challenge on, they will need balls to because riders and tuners will kick and scream before they agree to any change
  6. I do wonder though if their is more to this than riders form or talent
  7. I agree but even so they are getting battered on the road and for the quality that they were/are that shouldn't be happening , yesterday their reserves were their best riders and sayfutinov was awful for the quality that he is
  8. A team with pedersen sayfutinov zengota pawlicki and kildermand in the wings and the money they get paid should not be being beat by so many points ,for the quality of the riders they have got to be one of the most unperfoming team in the history of speedway , they are uncompetitive away and scraping wins at home
  9. Bizarre thing to say I know but I don't think Hancock spends enough time on his backside , when it happens like yesterday he gets really wound up and over reacts like his reaction to pedersen in Sweden last season , kk was rightly excluded but was more a crossing of paths than a deliberate move to have Hancock off and Hancock's mechanic was looking for a fight too ,
  10. while I agree a lot of the rules are stupid ,complicated, confusing and often unnecessary and do need addressing they are not the priority , because you have to get the fans into the stadiums first for them to find the rules are crap , that's where the priority should lie , you have to make people want to attend and be apart of that club, make it attractive both as a place to be and a price to pay, the whole pay structure has to be addressed, with the end result being the fan gets a good deal , if you sat in a crowd of 10,000 fans and watched the most boring sport ever but your team won you would still attend again cause the feel good factor generated by the people around you , that's what speedway needs to get back but we have to start at the bottom and price accordingly cause at the moment we are trying to start half way up but pricing it at the top and its not working, its not an attractive proposition for any potential fan , the product can still be the greatest sport in the world (SWC FINAL) and can still be a drab affair (SWC RACE OFF) but infront of small attendances the product becomes less attractive, its the fans that make the difference ,they are speedway ,they are the important ones ,we have to start running the sport for them and not for the riders as it is at the moment , does any of this makes sense?
  11. The bond between teams and their fans , for various reasons like doubling up/down , over use of guests and the mercenary attitude of some rides the bond has been lost and without it team speedway is pointless Strict regulations of engines with the ultimate goal of a stock engine and the elimination of the tuner dictating the sport. The reduction of admission for fans , make any excuse you like about the reason you can't drop the price but the fact is it's too expensive and there are some folk who can't afford it every week and there are some newbies who are put off by the price , it can happen and it must happen to move forward but it won't
  12. the issue of machinery can be dealt with by the ACU or a committee made up of ex riders like for instance Jan staechmann who can see the wood for the trees and has nothing to gain by it , there are plenty of ex riders who can see where it's all heading , it wouldn't be hard to get them in a room and come up with a plan
  13. a limiter of any sufficient measure say 10,000 revs would make the current bike even more unpredictable than it is now , the tuners would have to find more low down power and that's just more money for them , any answer is going to be a short term finacial pain but after a year a new slower less Reving engine that is less half the price of a current GM and has the fancy tuning parts banned is going to be a benifit to riders pockets . Whatever the answer is the sport has got to take its destiny out of the tuners hands , Peter johns current hold over the sport at the moment doing nothing for speedway , good for him but where is the good for the sport ? At the top of the sport now we are getting to the stage where you have to use Peter johns to win , isn't that like F1 where good drivers can't win cause they don't have the best car , do we really want that ?
  14. The answer is the 2 valve 570cc engine that jawa produce , with strict control on parts and what can be done to them this is the sensible way forward for cost and safety , I posted this over a year ago on another topic , in return for the engine's exclusive use jawa sponsor all 3 leagues , I have told various party's including buster , someone someday will listen to me but in the meantime we can bury our head in the sand, to the people who say what about all the GM engines currently in use ? Well what happened to the japs when jawa 2v came along , what happened to all the 2 valve when weslake came along , what happened to all the weslakes when GM came along etc
  15. I've brought a rotax jap speedway bike today , just wondering if I would be good enough for NL ? 👍🏻
  16. Good to see the sponsors have no bias , monster Doris celebrating with the Aussies
  17. I think we should move tomorrow's final to Buxton , yes it's a bit rough sometimes but it sorts out the men from the boys
  18. Never mind the top draw the racing is out of the sock draw tonight
  19. Dreadful decision , fricke was 2 wheeling into corner to avoid running into mjj , his fault
  20. I've said many times it boils my piss when I see tuners taking the credit for riders , it shouldn't be like that, in speedway fans don't care about what bikes and who tunes them ,it's about the rider , it is not a bike sport it's a team sport on bikes , tuners and riders are dictating the direction and the cost of the sport and if you let the tail wag the dog for long enough the dog will fall over , the lesson is there to see and it's been there for long enough but will anything change ? I doubt it
  21. could also be a bag of spanners that is dreadfull round belle vue
  22. For me it's everything , always has been always will , no other sport even comes remotely close , the noise of a speedway bike is a pure music to me , I have done pretty much everything in this sport and it has broke my heart a few times , broke bones a few times and wiped my bank balance too many times but it has been worth it and although it winds me up now and again I love it as much as ever and really couldn't imagine life without it
  23. then when mjj was excluded the guy off one should of been excluded too as he shoved mjj going into first corner causing him to run into other rider and don't forget bjerres miss timed elbow when he was off gate one
  24. Iversen would of missed the corner even without the elbow , his bike was still driving forward with his wheel off the ground at the point where he should of been turning , a deliberate elbow yes but never an exclusion
