  1. Just gets a firestick, sod Eurosport or whatever shambolic name it calls itself these days
  2. Slight change of track but I went to Somerset on Friday and went on to the oak tree arena site, they have a greggs, McDonald’s, screwfix and ford to the right as you drive in off the main road now and the old bar on the first bend is an energy company’s office now but they havent touched where the track was,you can still see the outline on google earth, so why couldn’t they have kept the speedway there ?
  3. Perry Barr are moving this year, I believe monmore will follow in next 2 years
  4. Has the speedway star ever done an honest few pages on the people who run the sport track record? that would make a really interesting reading, speedway’s demise is 90% self inflicted, Osbourne as immoral as he may be is a business man and his business is in a far better state than ours
  5. Said it before, Clarke Osbourne is a business man and he does what business men do, if speedway got its act together and actually turned round some sort of profit Clarke Osbourne would be on our side, you may not like his methods and he certainly knows how to manipulate councils etc for his own gain but he is a business man and his priorities are to make money, he doesn’t break the law, too many fans have faith in councils, they are just as deceitful as Osbourne but ultimately the sport itself has to take the blame for the state that it’s currently in
  6. The answer is just buy BSN and forget about Eurosport, BSN is a far superior product anyway
  7. Just a little post to say wolves fan Tania fellows (tubsy tubs)has passed away last Thursday, she was a massive wolves fan and sponsored quite a few riders from me, Adam skornicki, Adam Ellis, Ryan Douglas, Ashley morris to Kyle howarth and others and was well known around the wolves pits giving the riders haribo sweets before meetings,Tania was a good friend to not only me but a good friend to speedway . RIP mate 💔
  8. Good signing, really brought out the best of him last year when he was brought in to replace Doyle
  9. Yes it possibly should be Phil Morris’s job but he seems to be in the dark as everyone else, as I understand it the lease goes up to £150,000 after the dogs move out, which is ok if you have a free reign on the use of the stadium but apparently you don’t, it comes with major restrictions, which as I said earlier sounds like they want the speedway out to sell off the stadium but getting the speedway to make the decision themselves by making the lease unworkable, putting 2 and 2 together I believe there were plans to move the Cardiff GP to Alexandra stadium and when the track is installed maybe Bham would move there but that didn’t work out
  10. I have spoken about this before but speedway needs to consider becoming an amateur charity like sport and it would then get tracks built like althletics, bmx, cycling etc built for free as part of projects like this commonwealth games left over money, with good accountants riders could still earn a living from the sport,we have to start thinking out the box, at the moment from the very top we have a shoddy at best working organisation running the sport, there should be a go to manual/protocol for any new potential promotion to turn to for when they meet professional planners who have questions they need answering, there isn’t one, how amateurish is that ? The bspl/scb don’t answer calls or emails and when you finally get a reply they don’t have answers like what’s the decibel reading at 150yards from the bikes, these are questions planners ask and the sport doesn’t have them, there is no go to person and quite frankly it’s pathetic for what is supposed to be a professional sport and this is why you get residents turning up a planning meetings saying “I’m not having hells angels riding up and down my road all hours of the day” we know it’s not like that but people outside the sport don’t and this is why there should be go to protocol for these planning meetings
  11. Yes and they can’t sell because they don’t have bathrooms, they were built for commonwealth games and had communal bathrooms, the games were allocated £millions of which £50 million was never spent and is now supposedly being proposed for a velodrome in Bridgnorth Shropshire but that has gone very quiet lately and one of my customers who is a big player in Bridgnorth with the council said he knew nothing about it so sounds like some iffy dealings going on somewhere, there were 2 other locations in the running for the velodrome too both in the Black Country, what do you think was the answer when speedway asked to be part of the plans ?
  12. Yes cradley at wolves and to a lesser extent cradley at stoke wasn’t a complete fail
  13. There are many uses, from stock car to go karts to car boots and anything in between but as I understand it the council are basically saying no to other ways of making revenue and uses for the stadium, in a roundabout way they are forcing the speedway out but making so as the speedway make the decision
  14. That’s my point, wolves temporally at Bham would double the rent usage and get closer to the £150,000 needed for Bham to take over a lease holders, it’s still a shortfall but what’s really needed is Birmingham council to open up the lease for other uses
  15. Maybe but it could be the thing that gets a lifeline at the end of the season for Birmingham when the dogs move out
  16. While I agree largely with that, I find it strange that entain have never said a word about the situation at monmore, regarding the speedway or it future, we can all speculate about their intentions but we have heard nothing directly from them, as a stadium it’s in the financial interest to use the stadium as much as possible, they still doing the functions there as well as greyhounds and the speedway is of no inconvenience to their greyhound operation and with the rent and the bar/Resturant takings for what was 5 hours a week I would of thought it was a nice little earner for the stadium, however I’ve read that the people who made the decision are no longer there ? Entain are a huge company but are not exactly clean when it comes to finance, hence the huge fines they got last year for wrong doings, we as a club have done nothing to try to get us back at monmore and something doesn’t feel right to me about the whole thing
  17. I don’t believe they would lose money short term but that’s the point it’s a short term solution, the track has completely gone at monmore, only the pits and the changing room remains but while the stadium is still there people change, plans change, entain have never once said why we are out, what’s their plans? What’s behind their thinking ? We can all speculate but the fact is we don’t know, they could argue it’s none of our business what their plans are but we could argue with the council this is our city and we deserve to know
  18. Well at last a statement from wolves and it’s as predicted not a positive one, so what’s the next move because as we stand wolves are finished with no prospects on the horizon, is there a short term fix until a longer term solution is reached somewhere, track sharing with Birmingham, alternate Mondays ? A move to Buxton?(60miles ) the track is still there unused, would attract former stoke and Buxton fans too, not ideal solution by any stretch but something cause at the moment that something isn’t there, one other thing I would like to see is entain actually state the door is firmly shut at monmore because until now they have said nothing and even when it was announced that wolves were out that statement came via wolves not from entain themselves, as we stand we don’t know anything about entains intentions for the stadium, something that grates on me is the lack of fight for monmore, it has from day one and I know I’m not the only one
  19. Again it’s not the point the guy was making, I understand and I’m sure everyone understands the pitfalls etc of booking something but that’s not why he doesn’t have sympathy for people who have booked
  20. I sort of got that, I don’t agree but hey each to their own
