Do you mean the land midland sports stadiums sold to developers , the Midlands sports stadium that the promoter only owned 10% of the shares to ? and what would you do with his 10 % . invest it into making Coventry the best stadium in the country .,or piss it down the drain trying to run a team without hardly any support ,that had already closed 3 times previously ?

Bradford bulls didn't pay that much in rent , they paid out too much in wages to make it viable , and they were less than keen to let anybody else share even when times got hard .

They would if speedway was in a stadium they wanted to take over , If i won Euromiilions I would build a stadium for the Bulls ,let them move in at cheap rent , then chuck them out mid season

Sadly speedway sold it's media rights to Dick Turpin , the reinvestment rate of Turpin via advertising is zero , but the legal threats to anyone wanting to promote the sport using media are top priority . shame that all the sky dosh found its way into Dicks pockets , there, was an opportuinity to reinvest in some advertising to attract people who don't already follow speedway rather than constantly preaching to the converted

The old local derbies are a memory I shall cherish forever , The old corporation buses used to stop in Hinckley and pick up , one of the great things about speedway back then was of course the banter between supporters , and the journey was often more fun than some of the meetings . Those hot dogs were cooked the week before in MRs O's kitchen and kept warm in silver foil I used to love the trips to Swindon for the Heinz soup myself .

No idea about financing TBH , you have to speculate to accumulate though , IMHO BSI have made more than enough and largely crippled league speedway in the process ,so maybe time to dig deep and invest some of it back in ,

Perhaps . if there were 2 meetings for every gp . 24 riders in total , top 8 from last gp straight to the next GP , bottom 8 + 8 others race for a gp spot on friday , no more home country wildcards diluting the quality . wonder how many riders would miss the friday qualifiers ridng in Poland then ?
