  1. Track looks smooth but with plenty of dirt on it. Still tight and everyone’s now had a ride.
  2. Oxford for Premiership with a ‘known” promoter (but not Uncle Len!) But not with Doyley unless there’s been a big change!
  3. That’s not what the article says. He said he was retiring from Kent Speedway, not all of speedway. My guess is he has phrased this carefully to allow him to reappear somewhere else. He’s only 89 after all. Far too young to retire
  4. I gather that the landlords were seeking an unsustainable increase in rent, so nothing to do with failure to run the final fixture. But then, that might also be a rumour. What is not is that Len has said that, as he promoted a meeting to celebrate British speedway’s 50th anniversary, he was planning on promoting one for the 100th. In 2028!
  5. Don’t you worry about Jan Anderson, Steve. He’s an Edinburgh supporter. They’re a cold lot. The Glasgow jocks will give you a warm welcome. But, by the way, it’s Irn Bru
  6. Could it be because only fans get worked up about it? I’m not sure what there is to test. Riders ride where they want to ride and teams holding their registration can’t stop them. It has been challenged within BSPA, one of the times was Adrian Miedinski wanting to ride for Poole when Swindon held his registration. The rider got his way
  7. I’m not sure what I should be seeing. There’s a man booing like a child at the pantomime and Glasgow’s team manager waving a fist at him? Perhaps I should follow Mike Hunter’s lead and say “There’s a man booing like a child at a pantomime and Glasgow’s team manager APPARENTLY waving a fist at him?”!
  8. Give the man a break. There’s nothing better than a bad loser venting his spleen on a website. Maybe someone should feed him a dodgy burger and then see if there’s a lax rule that allows a guest reporter for today.
  9. Shush now. Don’t you be going spoiling a dirty great conspiracy theory with the truth. Next you’ll be saying he was at Armadale last weekend ready to race, only to be thwarted by the rain…..
  10. Marcin needs to reflect on the performance of his fellow Pole, Krzysztof Kasprzak on his only visit (as far as I know) to Armadale on 30 October 2009, riding for Belle Vue. They reckoned neither he (nor indeed Patrick Hougaard) would be able to ride the track. The records tell a different story
  11. At Ashfield? That might be worth watching. Top of the Hungarian league versus a middle of the table Scottish outfit
  12. Perfect for British speedway then Someone must have got their algorithms right.
  13. I agree common sense should prevail. If Leicester can’t get the meeting done tonight, then Scunny should be awarded a 75-0 walkover. But…..the meeting will happen and Leicester will go through
  14. I don’t agree. Rightly or wrongly, the rule is clear. As Wolves, Sheffield, Belle Vue and Peterborough were the teams in the play offs, then none of their riders are allowed to guest for any other play off team. It would be absurd to allow guys like Morris, Schlein, Douglas, Howarth, Batchelor, Becker, Pickering etc to guest for Hans in the final.
  15. I’ve read the stuff from Adam Ellis’s dad and there’s clearly no problem with Adam having a pre-arranged meeting meaning he couldn’t ride on Saturday. That situation is covered by the rules. The problem occurs with it being suggested that Adam would have missed the meeting on Saturday due to illness. Was that ever officially announced? I see that he’s racing tonight so maybe the suggestion that Adam was ill was just an error? Or maybe the Chairman and Vice-chairman have made the peace and decided that they’d both like fudge for tea. A third suggestion is that the VC was happy for Adam to race as it should cut his wage bill Makes no difference really - Leicester should romp this
  16. But he could be right, couldn’t he? Hans has averaged 6.67 in his two meetings at Poole this year with only one win in nine rides. If Leicester go r/r for him, which seems sensible, then every other rider is eligible to take his rides. The only way Leicester would be weaker would be if they use a guest other than Bomber
  17. What would be a “dodgy ruling”? Getting a special dispensation for a replacement for Hans? Has anyone in the team suggested that’s what the Panthers are trying to do or is all of this just fan speculation?
  18. Chris Harris fits for Andersen. That’s one move that would certainly strengthen Leicester
  19. Don’t BV and Leicester use the same paramedics team?
  20. We all have an opinion. Still, you probably don’t need to worry as I gather he’ll likely not be at Wolves next year.
  21. I don’t think anyone is having a go at the duo…….just one half
