  1. It’s unlike Glasgow to stick with a misfiring team. Rumour was they were trying to get a rider in on a 4 who should have been a 5 and not sure why they didn’t just accept him on a five as they have the points to play with. Unless there’s a bigger plan? The Tigers have so many apparent weaknesses this year and yet are one spot away from the play offs with matches in hand. On current form, there have to be four if not five out of the seven who are at risk so I’m expecting big changes soon. It makes a change the big boys wondering what moves Glasgow are about to pull off rather than it being Poole. But you can bet your socks that Poole and Oxford for two will be ready to counter any move that Glasgow make.
  2. Few surprises there though I didn’t know Lahti had moved from Finland to Sweden. That must reduce his chance of selection
  3. I accept that would be a perfect situation but where is the money coming from? With riders desperate to scurry off to Poland in search of the big money, what is the incentive on teams to invest in young riders? As with football, there needs to be a trickle down of cash from top to bottom to help fund the future. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem there’s any spare cash at the top so this isn’t going to happen. Rider development will therefore continue to be a selfish activity with those willing and able to provide training facilities expecting to be rewarded either through using the riders they “develop” or signing them up then selling or loaning them.
  4. I hope Dan and Matt have a replacement lined up for 2025 as, on that showing, Ben isn’t going to be going Championship next year
  5. It’ll be interesting to see the July green sheets which should be out today (?) At present, the Comets have the highest collective average so they can only do a one for one change. At one point, I thought they might swap Worrall for Vissing when Glasgow make their expected big changes but I doubt that will work - Steve’s average is likely to be too high
  6. Eh? He was a SPEEDWAY rider. Committed s crime and was released on license. Was back riding SPEEDWAY at Scunthorpe in amateur meetings. How is that not relevant to a SPEEDWAY discussion?
  7. There’s a HUGE rumour circulating that Garritty has been recalled. Is it just a rumour or is there some truth?
  8. You are absolutely right and I apologise for my shocking error. Incomprehensible and unforgivable. I blame the time difference from NZ but that’s no excuse. I will now stand in a corner, facing the wall, shamed and corrected. But technically, I was right as he didn’t ride at Sheffield yesterday….
  9. Not for the first time, I’ve got lost with all of this. Has Brady said he won’t ride at Sheffield tomorrow? Or is it all speculation?
  10. I thought there would have been comments on here about Sam’s commentary. Or are people just used to his name mangling? I remember when Andreas Andersen used to ride for Glasgow…..under a different name. As did another Danish rider who seems to have changed his name to Rasmussen.
  11. With this looking like one of the most unsettled and least able Glasgow teams for many years, will the promotion - and supporters - accept a mediocre season or will changes be made? I rather suspect the latter. The Tigers are the only team whose 1 June collective averages are lower than they were on 1 May. There are no stand out fails, just, with few exceptions, collective under performance. Alan Dick has good contacts across Europe and I’m sure he’ll be looking for alternatives, maybe a young Swede or Dane? I expect some big changes to come. I thought a few weeks back that a swap with a northern team was a possibility but the 1 June averages have messed that up so it’ll be rider(s) out and rider(s) in. And maybe a little more flair when it comes to the 2025 team?

  13. But who would you replace him with? There’s a good group of young lads but none are at Tai’s level. And none of the “older” guys like King, Wright or Ellis are better. IMO
  14. It won’t be Dan T as he’ll be riding for Plymouth on Friday
  15. And the Thompson twins. Dan is flying this year and Joe knows the Poole track well. And then they also have Kyle Newman.
  16. Just up long enough for it to threaten the existence of this forum.
  17. I was trying to be non-sexist and couldn’t think of any other female specific prescription medicine. As you can tell, I know nothing about women
  18. I’m not convinced that riders are compelled to notify SCB if they’re taking prescription medications. My understanding was that they had to notify testers of any prescription meds only if randomly selected and before giving a test. I can’t see that, as a matter of routine, riders being forced to disclose antibiotics, or, nowadays, the contraceptive pill.
  19. Is the 5% uplift for guests for home matches still available?
  20. That depends on who’s riding at number 6 for Glasgow. I can’t see any announcement, or have I missed it?
