  1. You’re just teasing again, aren’t you?! Tungate seems to have settled into a “ride for a wage rider” only interested in going where the money is good. There’s hardly a clamour for his services. Was there not a rumour that he’d asked for a fixed payment from a PL team in 2022 that would have made him one of the highest paid riders in UK?
  2. Has everyone forgotten Joey Ringwood? Or was he better? Dixie couldn’t half pick them (though he also found Nick Morris and Josh Grajczonek)
  3. My mistake - must be one of the other Davies seeing as there are at least 10 of you. Who am I? I’m Wee Eck. That’s my name on here. Same as yours is davie10
  4. Thank you. To me, it’s a gamble of a team but exciting too. Basso and Brennan are likely to improve, Novak maybe better this time round and Pijper looks a great prospect. Which leaves Harris - was 2022 his swansong year or is there more to come? - Complin - he’s a big lad now for a speedway rider but good to see him back - and Vissing.- anyone know what went wrong for him at Birmingham?
  5. I’m getting lost on the numbers so, if Lee Complin is the sixth signing, how many points are left for the last rider?
  6. You have to ask PC that question…..
  7. First poiny - winning didn’t put Workington out of business. It was years of over trading and late paying that did that. They were going to fail at some point but the winning streak just speeded that up. As far as financial benefits are concerned, ask Poole how much they made from the play off final. Or Leicester how much they expected to make. These are £30,000-£40,000 events with costs the same as a normal league event. And winning teams, promoted well, encourage more support. In my opinion. .
  8. All riders should feel under pressure - from within, from their promoters, their family and their fans. Do you not think Bartosz Zmarzlik feels under pressure? I have been aware of Kyle since his British Youth Championship years when there were three stand out riders - Kyle, Tom Brennan and Leon Flint. When Kyle was 15, he was the best of these three but seems to have lost his way and I don’t know why. I was aware that there was great family pressure on him to succeed so maybe that didn’t help. But then Brennan and Flint were also being pushed by their families. Maybe the difference was these two weren’t being promoted to would be sponsors to the same extent? I would love this to be Kyle’s breakthrough year and for him to put the past behind him. I gather he’s got a job outside speedway which has to help - being a full time rider at his level (indeed, at many levels) isn’t really a proper job. His actual average seems to be under 3 so there’s loads of room for improvement.
  9. That’s going back a bit! They were wunderkinds when they rode NDL for Eastbourne some years ago. Daniel must be 24 or 25 and doesn’t really seem to have got very far. Ethan is a couple of years younger. Or have I missed something?
  10. I’m not sure that follows - Morris is signed as number one and he has a higher average than Harris so still room for him?
  11. Now that would be class. But the last I heard was that he was all settled down back home - new job, new girl and, erm, new hair! But then his Instagram hints at a return
  12. If Schlein can make a comeback, how about Shane Parker? I know he’s over 50 and has had serious heart problems but why let logic get in the way of a BSF post
  13. Where does Tom say he’s leaving BV? All he’s said is he’s no longer a Rising Star. Maybe this is just a pre-announcement (by BV) tease?
  14. This is a competitive sport which means that it’s rare for good riders to be struggling for a team place. The others often seem to have an expectation of payment level which exceeds their worth so have to wait until reality hits them or desperation hits a promoter. In 2022, we had several teams struggling for riders which meant that we had the farce of Birmingham and Plymouth signing riders in short term deals - but omitting to tell the paying public that’s what they’d done. With two less tracks in 2023, here’s hoping that doesn’t happen again. As far as the four riders mentioned are concerned, neither Bailey nor Nicol have made much progress for a couple of years now so do they deserve a place anywhere? They’ll probably get one though. Ruml has been steady if unspectacular so is worth a risk by someone, and Kemp put nearly 2 points on his average, much of it riding at number 4, so don’t write him off. But boy does he need to improve his attitude!
  15. With the sweeping changes at Glasgow - is there anyone other than Basso and (maybe) Brennan left? - it would be a strange move to bring Chris Harris back. He had a very good 2022 and was undoubtedly the king of guests but, at 40 years of age now, was this his last great year? Looking through this forum, it seems very few people want him which has to tell you something. Is it his age? His stated desire to concentrate on the European Grasstrack and, especially Longtrack events? His lacklustre performance for Glasgow last time? And it’s not just Glasgow. Few supporters seem to be clamouring for him. Why?
  16. Top King Jamie post! Have you been saving that one for a while?
