  1. It's never the wrong decision at the time we make it - but occasionally hindsight may make it seem so..... No promoter postpones a meeting willingly, not only do we incur costs for today but also have to find a suitable re-staging date.
  2. Bach makes his debut for Glasgow on Thursday at Ipswich.
  3. Adam will be at reserve Bjarne will be at reserve from Monday
  4. Lakeside ride at Belle Vue tonight with priority for Lewis' services, Ben Barker remains in Glasgow's team until after tomorrow's meeting. Nothing to see here
  5. A new Green Sheet, edition 14, issued yesterday isn't on the BSPA site yet. Lewis Rose has a new average of 4.46.
  6. SR 18.7.1 refers to the 'initial declaration' Rob, no reason why the Cat 4 rider can't move up the 1-7 during the season.
  7. COVENTRY Storm suffered two further injury setbacks on a disastrous Sunday afternoon at Mildenhall. The City Gearboxes Storm went down to a 29-61 defeat in their latest Travel Plus National League fixture, but their main concern is over two more riders who are now on the sidelines. Captain Martin Knuckey suffered a compound right leg fracture in a heavy first bend accident in Heat 7 when he tangled with the Fen Tigers’ Jon Armstrong. The meeting was subject to a lengthy delay whilst Knuckey was attended to and then taken to Bury St Edmunds hospital for further treatment. And then in Heat 10 reserve Jamie Halder came to grief when he suffered a snapped chain, having initially been holding home duo Alfie Bowtell and Connor Mountain at bay. Halder managed to get up from the crash but has a suspected broken left wrist – making it three Storm riders out, with Liam Carr still missing from his accident at Brandon earlier in the month. Not surprisingly, the Fen Tigers dominated against depleted opposition, with Dan Greenwood and Callum Walker battling hard for the Storm. Greenwood picked up 12 points from six rides, whilst Walker scored a best-yet eight, winning Heat 2 and later taking the scalp of the more experienced Chris Widman from the back. Storm manager Laurence Rogers said: “I don’t know how many black cats we’ve run over, but it must be a lot – we came here with six riders and went home with four. “Martin has a compound fracture so that’s going to take a bit of getting back from, and it looks like a fractured wrist for Jamie so it’s not a good day at all. “Our next meeting isn’t until June 10, so I’ve got ten days to try and patch up the side before that. “It was a tremendous performance from Callum Walker, and also Jamie – the two reserves did us proud.” MILDENHALL 61: Dan Halsey 15, Jon Armstrong 13+1, Connor Mountain 9+1, Alfie Bowtell 8+2, Connor Coles 8+2, Chris Widman 6, Lee Springthorpe 2+1. CITY GEARBOXES STORM 29: Dan Greenwood 12, Callum Walker 8, Ryan Terry-Daley 4, Jamie Halder 3+1, Conor Dwyer 1+1, Martin Knuckey 1, Kyle Roberts (no.8) 0, Liam Carr r/r.
  8. Tom went up to 4th in the Peterborough averages in the 9th issue Green Sheets, before the team changes.
  9. RR is not an option, but a guest under the specific EDR rules is.
  10. I can understand why the question was asked, as a guest for a missing EDR rider can now be either another rider from the EDR list (below the rider being replaced) or a rider with a lesser PL average not in an EL 1-5. If the latter is used the guest must be a British rider. We are utilising the former on Friday and the latter on Saturday.
  11. The facility for Josh is exactly as if he was still in a reserve slot, that is a guest under the EDR rules.
  12. Saturday May 07, 2016 COVENTRY Speedway are pleased to announce Monday's Elite League clash with Wolverhampton has now been designated a £10-admission meeting for all adults. And the Buildbase Bees will also return to a seven-man team for the meeting as Polish youngster Kacper Woryna has been declared fit to return. Bees bosses have taken the decision to slash prices for the meeting down from the regular £17 adult price, during what has been a busy run of fixtures at both Elite and National League levels. Wolves took an away win at Brandon back in early April and the Bees are keen to gain revenge for that result against a team who have only lost once so far this season. Woryna crashed out of the 44-46 defeat at King's Lynn just under a month ago, and makes his comeback from a hand injury ahead of schedule. Under-16 admission on Monday is free as normal, with student rates remaining at £5 on proof of status. The admission offer is naturally extended to all supporters, including those who will be backing our visitors. No previous match tickets or booking in advance will be required.
  13. That's correct, for all riders once they get an established rather than assessed average it is recalculated two-weekly. No, as if two averages are identical the order of those two riders remains as per the previous line-up.
  14. The walkway is in fact the fire escape from the hospitality suites, and the stadium have instructed that it be kept clear. This is a similar situation I guess to standing at the back of the stand at Peterborough - it's gone on for many years, but has now changed to meet current requirements . As for the car-park, I have no idea why the second exit wasn't opened and the entrance was throttled, I'll check with the stadium management about this.
  15. We were at the stadium way before you, and probably after you too - beavering away as ever!
  16. The facility for an absent No 6 (by riding number) is a guest if not an EDR, and an EDR guest if an EDR SR Art 17.6
  17. New green sheets are issued fortnightly for riders with an established MA. Once an EDR has completed 2 home and 2 away he gets an established MA which will be recalculated fortnightly. Riders with an assessed average will get an established MA after 4 home and 4 away, and will then be reassessed two-weekly. There will be numerous Green sheets in the early weeks of the season, but this will settle down as the reserves and assessed riders pass their milestone.
  18. The facility available for a missing rider 4th or 5th in the averages is rider replacement only.
  19. Wrong, twice, on the same point. Our team is built with three riders from the 'heatleader list', two EDR riders from the 'EDR list' and two other riders, with a maximum of two double-up riders in the 1-5 and a maximum of three from the HL list. Edit - total for 1-7 is 40.5 points Our team will line up for the first meeting with the three highest averaged riders at 1,3 and 5, and the next two highest averages at 2 & 4. In our case the two will be the same, but that is not necessarily the case.
  20. I apologise, my choice of words wasn't the best.
  21. Your humorous, positive support will be greatly missed.
  22. We missed an opportunity to choose a rider in the EDR draft who wasn't even part of the process? How stupid of us......
  23. If you were at the NSSC meeting last week you would know what was said, if you're relying on second-hand gossip you're pretty much guaranteed to be misled........
