  1. Appearances as No 8 (who can only take the RR rides) do not count towards a rider's average. (Art 16.2.1)
  2. That's Josh Marsh, who's been helping out with the music for a while now.
  3. You're not wrong Gemini, Henry wasn't at the meeting.
  4. I was there, we aren't both always able to attend every meeting - the day job and families sometimes get in the way That's one reason why each Club has a minimum of two promoters.
  5. Correct, but only for the play-off ties, not for the remaining league fixture.
  6. That's correct - http://www.fim-live.com/en/library/download/57331/no_cache/1/ (see Page 25 of the regulations). If Freddie Lindgren finishes in the top 8 for 2016 then Kenneth Bjerre would step up into the 2017 series.
  7. They both started on assessed averages as they had established MAs from previous seasons. http://www.speedwaygb.co/files/downloads/el16_issue_2.pdf See the top right panel
  8. They both started with an assessed average.
  9. When the averages are identical the order remains as per the previous Green Sheet, so I woułd assume Bjarne remains at reserve. (Art 16.3.1).
  10. SR 16.3.4 No Team changes will be allowed after 28th August with the effective date being 31st August, except for riders returning to the Team after injury.
  11. COVENTRY are pleased to announce admission prices for Fridays double header at Brandon have now been set at ELITE LEAGUE PRICES ONLY. The Buildbase Bees host Lakeside in a re-arranged EL fixture, which will be immediately followed by the National League clash between the City Gearboxes Storm and Mildenhall which was initially scheduled for that date. The club have now confirmed admission for the full schedule, which gets underway at 7.30pm, will be £17 for all adults, with no additional charge to cover the Storm fixture. The Elite League match holds much significance for Lakeside, who almost certainly require away points to reach the play-offs, but a major boost for the Bees is that No.1 Krzysztof Kasprzak will be available for the clash. Kasprzak is Wild Card for the Grand Prix of Poland at Gorzow in Saturday, and has elected not to practice on his home league circuit in favour of racing for the Bees against the Hammers. Kasprzak has unavoidably missed recent away matches at Leicester and Lakeside due to his participation in the Speedway Euro Championship series, but has already twice raced for Coventry on the day before those meetings when they would otherwise have had no guest or rider-replacement facility. Such a facility would be available on Friday to cover the Grand Prix event, but naturally all at the club are delighted to have their No.1 available for the meeting. Coventry promoter Mick Horton said: Its been a pleasure to have KK riding for us this season, and this is another real show of commitment from him to the club which I know our fans will be pleased to hear. Hes been an excellent No.1 for us and right from our talks last winter it was clear that he was keen to re-establish himself as one of the top men in the sport, which he has very much achieved. Kasprzak therefore lines up at No.1 as usual for the Bees, who will operate rider-replacement for GP regular Chris Harris. For Lakeside, Andreas Jonsson is missing for the same reason and is replaced by former Coventry skipper Scott Nicholls, whilst rider-replacement operates for Richard Lawson whose fixture for Glasgow takes priority. Supporters attending the National League match ONLY on Friday should note that this meeting will be charged at regular NL prices - £12 for adults, with entry available during the brief interval between EL and NL matches.

  13. The meeting preview for Friday was posted before Kacper was declared unfit, the postponement rendered a team update superfluous on race-day.
  14. Coventry Bees Speedway Fans Facebook page, my post from yesterday: I can assure you that postponing a meeting on race day is done with the utmost thought and the greatest reluctance. We incur significant cost on every postponement, cost which increases as tapes-up approaches. We also have to take into account the prevailing weather all around the stadium - running with a minimal crowd because everyone assumes it is going to be off does us no good at all! We had prepared the track for rain, and as I said at 8.30am we intended the meeting to go ahead. Over the next 3 hours or so it became apparent that racing tonight was becoming less likely, and at some point a decision has to be made that inconveniences the fewest people and costs the Club as little money as possible. This decision is made by Mick or me, and once it is made that decision has to be final, whatever else may then happen with the weather. As David rightly points out, tonight's postponement means that we have to use a date that we had previously left unused for EL fixtures. As the league cut-off point approaches, with restricted stadium availability due to the prestigious Stock Car World Cup meeting, the GP programme resuming and any rearranged fixture losing rider priority to the Premier League; next Friday is not ideal but better than the alternatives. I hope you will all continue to support the Bees as we move towards the end of the season, although results haven't been as we hoped, we have certainly provided excellent entertainment - and surely that's what most speedway fans want?
  15. 3 1/2 hours is hardly 'just before', but as you say, our good intentions have been beaten by the weather.
  16. The Brandon track has been prepared with rain in mind, we intend the meeting to go ahead as scheduled.
  17. For the three riders you mentioned, did they go above 3.00 at any time?
  18. A rider retains an assessed average if he fails to meet the minimum 3.00 average, is that the situation here?
  19. The cut-off date is the 20th of the month for the following month's GSAs.
  20. KING'S Lynn Young Stars have been forced to withdraw from Sunday's National League Fours at Coventry. The Stebbings Car Superstore side have been reduced to just two available riders for the showpiece event and therefore have been left with no option but to pull out of the meeting. Team manager Dale Allitt explained: "We're very disappointed to have to withdraw from Sunday's meeting and we can only apologise to our supporters. "Josh Bailey picked up a knock to his ankle racing for Scunthorpe at Ipswich on Thursday and he needs to rest it for a day or two longer. "Tom Stokes is still under the weather with a virus and he's just not ready to race yet. "Shane Hazelden suffered a broken leg at Kent on Monday so that one speaks for itself. "Ryan Kinsley was hurt in the same incident and was told on Monday to rest for at least seven days. "Nathan Greaves was always scheduled to race for Sheffield at Newcastle in the Premier League so he was never an option anyway. "That leaves us with just Scott Campos and Lewis Whitmore and you don't have to be a genius to work out you can't go to a fours meeting with two available riders! Buxton will be stepping into the vacant place.
  21. That is NOT the case. A glance at the rule-book often assists, in this case Art 19.9.3. The meeting comprises 24 heats, with a longer break between the semi-finals and final. The meeting should be finished by 5.30pm.
  22. EIGHT clubs will be competing at Brandon on Sunday afternoon as Coventry stage the 2016 National League Fours (2.30pm). Its the third year in succession that the meeting, one of the top events on the NL calendar, has been hosted by the Storm, and the past history of the Fours includes plenty of drama and close finishes. In 2014, Cradley made it back-to-back victories in the competition with a dominant display in the Final, but 2015 saw a thrilling three-way scrap between Birmingham, Coventry and Kent, with a tie between the Brummies and the Storm at the end of the Final. Birminghams Adam Ellis then defeated Coventrys Dan Greenwood in a run-off for the silverware to give the Perry Barr club their first silverware since they were re-launched at National League level. Ellis has now switched to Eastbourne and is one of several top NL riders to be in action in Sunday indeed, he won a World Cup silver medal as Great Britains Under-21 reserve at Belle Vue last week. The Storm who were also runners-up in 2014 - have been drawn in a tough-looking Group B where they go up against Belle Vue, Eastbourne and Birmingham, whilst Group A features Mildenhall, Kings Lynn, Rye House and Cradley. With Greenwood on the sidelines due to a broken collarbone, the Storm will be represented by Liam Carr, Mitchell Davey, Ryan Terry-Daley and Conor Dwyer. Manager Laurence Rogers said: We had a couple of knocks at Birmingham on Wednesday, so fingers crossed everyone will be okay for Sunday. Its going to be very hard in the group weve been drawn in, but well be giving it a good go. Mitchell is flying at the moment and would have had a 15-point maximum at Birmingham but for his engine failure, and Conor seemed to have no power there but Im sure hell have a better day at home. The two groups are each run over eight races, with an eight-heat Final for the top two teams in each group to give a 24-race schedule in total. Admission prices are £15 for all adults with under-16s free as usual, and programmes will be on sale for £2. GROUP A: MILDENHALL: Jon Armstrong, Dan Halsey, Alfie Bowtell, Connor Coles. KINGS LYNN: Josh Bailey, Scott Campos, Ryan Kinsley, Tom Stokes. RYE HOUSE: Rob Branford, Ben Morley, Luke Priest, Sam Woods. CRADLEY: Luke Chessell, Max Clegg, Richard Andrews, Ashley Morris. GROUP B: BELLE VUE: Dan Bewley, Matt Williamson, Rob Shuttleworth, Lee Payne. COVENTRY: Ryan Terry-Daley, Mitchell Davey, Liam Carr, Conor Dwyer. EASTBOURNE: Georgie Wood, Ellis Perks, Adam Ellis, Jake Knight. BIRMINGHAM: Jack Smith, Tom Perry, Jack Parkinson-Blackburn, Tom Bacon.
