  1. Why would I be happy? I have no direct interest in the meeting concerned. I was however aware of the rule, having successfully requested exactly the same ruling for a Coventry Storm meeting in 2015. (Edited for typo)
  2. Good points, and I agree that this season is unusual, as it has been in a number of ways as we move back from the fast-track system to pure averages as we know them from the 2018 season. This isn't only a Championship issue, Kings Lynn have also been able to make a team change based on 'mixed averages' that wouldn't have been possible otherwise. 'Nothing to see here' referred to the veiled(or not so veiled) accusations here that Peterborough had in some way cheated, when in fact they have simply used the rules as written to their best effect.
  3. This particular aspect of averages and team-building has always been part of the sport, and choosing the right timing of team-changes to take advantage of changes in average is a sign of shrewd management. There's really nothing to see here......
  4. And their new averages will come into effect once their seven competitor teams have completed 4h and 4a!
  5. This is also incorrect. National Development Teams are permitted to retain assets that are already registered to them, but are no longer permitted to register new assets.
  6. Your understanding of the Coventry asset situation is totally incorrect.
  7. It would only be the case that new averages cannot be used for the next home meeting if that meeting fell in the seven-day 'window' after being achieved. Art 16.2.6.1 Updated MAs will be calculated on all eligible meetings, up to and including Mondays meetings each fortnight for issue on Thursday to become effective from the next Monday. Art 16.2.7 A SGB Premiership or Championship League rider will establish an MA after 4 Home and 4 Away fixtures, becoming effective 7 days after the last qualifying Meeting.... As far as I can see Ellis completed his 4th away meeting on 27/5 so will have a new average from Sat 3rd June
  8. Art 16.5.1(i) shows that a facility is available if a rider 'is on FIM Longtrack Championship duty (for the day of the Meeting only; no facility is permitted for practice day).'
  9. Ridiculous comment to make. Meetings are abandoned by the referee, not the home promotion. No promotion wants a mid-meeting abandonment, they are inconvenient for all and very expensive.
  10. An extremely experienced promoter, who understands all the complexities of the process, is prepared to draw up a draft list for consultation and amendment. What can possibly be farcical about that?
  11. For any grown-ups still following this thread - the track is perfect, no rain here (although there is around the stadium). Workington won toss and took 1&3.
  12. Leicester 31 Rye House 29 after 10 heats, so he may well be needed - and would need permission to leave the meeting early anyway. Barring an absolute disaster in the last five heats or on the 40 mile journey there's no problem here. Worse case is a Panthers reserve in Heat 1, Chris not out again until Heat 6. Weather looking OK too
  13. I doubt that Steve, there's no way Wolverhampton/Cradley would want to lose two plum Bank Holiday fixtures - and certainly not this close to start time. RR at No 1 for Wolverhampton wouldn't have been the end of the world.
  14. Wolves v Poole and Cradley v Belle Vue both now confirmed as postponed on www.speedwaygb.co
  15. Perfect example of pointless speculation on here - any meeting is ON until officially postponed.
  16. That's a bit pessimistic at this stage Rob, Leicester to Peterborough is only an hour's journey. Wolverhampton for 6.00pm looks tight though. Option 3 in extremis is to use a reserve in Heat 1.....
