As the NDL rules force the use of RR and multiple 3 point riders in circumstances such as this there can't be a minimum team points total. The six riders programmed have a combined average of 30.62, which I expect exceeds the seven-man total of the infamous S****horpe team of a few years ago. I'm surprised to see Boughen in the line-up as this meeting will give him an MA I believe.

Grand Prix Wildcard Racing Numbers
NeilWatson replied to a4poster's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The Wild Card at each round is always allocated No 16, the Nominated Substitute riders can apply for personal racing numbers. The relevant FIM regulation is as follows: Each Rider accepted for the FIM SGP World Championship will be allocated a GP number between 1 and 15, which will be valid for the SGP World Championship of that year. In general, this GP number will reflect the Final result of the previous year’s FIM SGP World Championship. In each Grand Prix Meeting riding number 16 will be allocated to the Wild Card rider and riding numbers 17 and 18 to the Track Reserve Riders. The allocated GP number will be used to resolve any eventual ties were the lowest riding number is deemed to be the better placed Rider. Additionally, the 15 permanent and 7 substitute SGP Riders may apply to use their own personal racing numbers on their race jacket and bikes. They may choose any riding number with a maximum of 3 digits provided that it has not previously been used by another SGP Rider over the past 2 seasons, the number cannot start with a 0. Riding numbers 1 to 22 are reserved for the use of FIM only. To request a specific personal racing number the Rider must send an application to FIM within a set deadline. Should more than one Rider request the same number, preference will be given to either the Rider who has a clear history of adopting that number, or if this is not the case for either Rider, then the higher ranked Rider will be allocated this number. Other riders will then need to select an alternative number. Riders who have not requested a specific personal riding number within the deadline will be required to use their allocated GP number. The FIM SGP Promoter will supply the riding number jackets and it is compulsory for each Rider to wear this riding number jacket at all times during TV Interviews, Draws, Qualifying Practice, Parade, Press Conferences, Racing, Prize-Giving Ceremony and in the pits area. The covering of any part of the riding number jacket in any way is not permitted. Shoulder lapels are permitted but cannot cover any logos or adverts. Where a rider wears a neck brace, the neck brace must be free of any advertisements. All Riding Number Jackets will need to be signed out when received and signed back in when returned by the Riders mechanic or representative to a collection point to be confirmed by the Race Director at each event. The Rider is responsible for his riding number jackets and the cost of any riding number jacket not returned will be charged to the Rider and deducted from the Prize Monies. -
Thanks Mike for making me laugh out loud this morning :-)

Wouldn’t SR 13.6.1.d apply? 013.6.1 Guest Rider (G) ( in the NDL) Replaces an absent regular team member subject to the following: - a) assumes the position and MA of the missing rider b) must be in a current NDL team declaration or any unattached rider eligible to race in the NDL c) a rider may ride as a guest (in an official meeting) at a track only once in an 8-day (within that league) period, unless he is replacing the home teams #1 d) a guest rider in a double header shall count as one meeting only e) the guests own MA must be the same or lower than that of the missing rider f) no rider, whose team is in the play offs may appear as a guest in the play offs, in that league -
A situation that also applied to the Championship.

Quite, but it was a good opportunity to post a classic race from a memorable night!

Belle Vue v Ipswich Play off semi 2nd leg 3 Oct
NeilWatson replied to Rob B's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
That’s not the case if the rider concerned is a Rising Star rider. There are other circumstances where a guest is available for the rider 5th in the averages but not a Rising Star. Agreed SR12.4: [Absence of Premiership Rising Star] If riding in positions #1 - #5 the options are: #8, RR or G from the Rising Star list. If the G option is chosen, the replacement rider must have an MA lower or equivalent to the missing rider and can be in another Premiership 1-8. -
It has always been the case at the Showground that fixtures are fitted in around the major shows and events - even when speedway was in its pomp.
-
Such a gap at Peterborough is because of stadium (un)availability rather than any failure by the BSPL
-
Where the Premiership is concerned the play-off dates are I believe dictated by the sport's broadcast partners, as other summer sports come to a close leaving space in their schedule. For the Championship I see no reason why the league couldn't be completed by the end of July with the play-offs in August.

2023 GP line up/wildcards
NeilWatson replied to eric i's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The FIM regulations state: The current year’s final overall SGP classification after removing any rider having finished in the top 6, but having withdrawn from the SGP for the following year before the following year’s line-up has been published shall determine the rider’s qualifications for next year’s SGP championship as follows: • The top 6 riders of the final overall 2022 SGP classification (including any qualified nominated substitute rider) will be directly qualified for the following year’s SGP series. • The top 3 riders from the 2022 FIM SGP World championship qualification meetings (art. 71a) will be directly qualified for the following year’s SGP series. Should a rider who has qualified from these qualification meetings also be in the top 6 of the final overall SGP classification of that year, and then the next available rider from the FIM SGP World championship qualification meetings will be selected. • The winner of the 2022 FIME Speedway European championship will be directly qualified for the following years SGP series. • Should a rider who has qualified from the FIME Speedway European championship also be in the top 6 of the final overall SGP classification of that year, or the top 3 riders from the FIM SGP World championship qualification meetings (art. 71a) then an extra additional rider will be nominated by the SGP commission. • 5 additional riders will be nominated by the SGP commission. • 1 wild card rider per event decided in accordance with art. 3.5. • Should a rider withdraw after the publication of the official rider Line- up for the following year’s SGP season, then the first rider available on the official SGP nominated substitute list shall replace him. • 7 riders will be nominated by the SGP commission for the official SGP nominated substitute list. -
Witches v Panthers - 8th Sept
NeilWatson replied to 2ndbend's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The number of matches used to calculate the MA has reduced month by month over the season. The most recent achieved MA is the one used which would be the CL average in this case. -
SR 012.4.2 Guest Rider Replaces an absent regular team member subject to the following: - a) if the absent rider, with an established MA, is in the top 1-5 of the team, then the missing rider’s MA will be enhanced by +5% at a home meeting to determine the allowance for the guest rider b) a rider may ride as a guest (in an official meeting) at a track only once in an 8 day period (within that league) unless he is replacing the home teams #1 or is an NDL rider guesting for the home team c) the guest must be in a current team declaration and have an MA that is the same or lower than that of the absent rider. If a rider has an established MA in both Premiership and Championship leagues the MA for the league for which the rider is guesting, will Speedway Control Bureau Regulations 115 be used. If the rider does not have an established MA in that particular league then the conversion factor of 1.5 will apply d) the guest assumes the position and MA of the missing rider. A guest rider in a ‘double header’ shall count as one meeting only e) no rider, whose team is in the play offs may appear as a guest in the play offs, in that league.
