A rider uses his most recent average, which in this case would be a converted CL average attained in 2018 rather than a 2017 average.
-
If we follow that path we will be ‘reverting’ not ‘redeclaring’ which is quite legitimate and doesn’t have the restrictions you suggest. Should Emil have already appeared in another 1-7 the option to revert would simply have not been available.
-
That’s not correct, Pijper was not in the Redcar 1-7 once he was replaced by THJ - hence why he was free to be declared elsewhere.
-
Agreed, my point was that Pijper was already declared elsewhere, so Redcar couldn’t revert had they wished to. Their use of an NDL guest WAS a facility (albeit the no-facility facility) - no other facility was available as Jorgensen hadn’t completed a meeting.
-
That situation arose just a few days ago with Redcar, Thomas Jorgenson and Theo Pijper. (and no, a rider cannot appear in two 1-7s)
-
I fear you misunderstand the principle and practice of team declarations. I can assure you however that there is not a ‘fast one’ here (except the riders involved.....).

PETERBOROUGH’S injury jinx has struck again – with new signing Edward Kennett ruled out before even turning a wheel for the club. Kennett agreed a deal with the T.Balfe Construction Panthers last week to replace Emil Grondal, but he has now suffered a broken arm during his World Longtrack semi-final in the Czech Republic. The Great Britain star has been in touch with Panthers bosses, and has had a double fracture which is to be operated on when he returns to the UK. With Kennett yet to appear for the Panthers, they will revert to their previous team declaration whilst considering their next move. Promoter Ged Rathbone said: “It’s absolutely devastating news, we were very much looking forward to having Edward in the team, and naturally we wish him all the best. “With him not having ridden for us yet there would be no facility for him, so we have to revert to our declaration including Emil Grondal and look at our options again. “The management are already in talks over what to do next, hopefully we’ll be able to pull another rabbit out of the hat, but our thoughts are very much with Edward and the other injured lads.” ENDS

The continuing decline of Speedway
NeilWatson replied to wealdstone's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
As I said, it is not the BSPA Rule Book - see page 1 of this document http://www.britishspeedway.co/2018_speedway_regulations_online.pdf -

Each of those decisions complies with the Rule Book (which incidentally is produced and implemented by the SCB not the BSPA). Whether you think the rules need amending is a different matter entirely. Its worth noting that the seven-day suspension for sickness/non-speedway injury is a new addition to the Rule Book this year. I see Tsunami posted while I was typing, he explains the reasoning behind the rules very clearly. -
World Championship Pairs
NeilWatson replied to Mark's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
To add to this, if there’s a tie for qualification for the semi-final, the tie is determined initially by ‘who beat who’, if that heat was a 3-3 then the team taking second and third will be considered the better placed team. -

Would you care to explain exactly what the BSPA have ‘done’ with Redcar? -
If Workington beat Glasgow, semi-final qualification is in our own hands. If Glasgow win at Workington tomorrow, Workington could then still push us out of the reckoning by taking a four-point win at Edinburgh.

Brummies v Bee's Wed 30th May NT
NeilWatson replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in National League Speedway
It seems self evident that when lobbying for a return of speedway to Coventry (at Brandon or elsewhere) it will carry more weight that the Bees are having to race elsewhere as there is no suitable stadium in Coventry than that the Club is defunct but could be reformed in the right circumstances. -

Thanks, I was doing it on my phone from Birmingham and didn't notice that option.

No idea what happened there :-)

GREAT Britain international Edward Kennett has become Peterborough’s second mid-season signing as they look to avert their injury crisis.Kennett comes in for the T.Balfe Construction Panthers as a replacement for Emil Grondal, who crashed heavily in Denmark last week with his recovery time unclear at this stage. And with Bradley Wilson-Dean also on board to replace Nike Lunna, it means there will be something of a new look to the Panthers when they visit Glasgow in their next Championship fixture a week on Friday (June 8).Promoter Ged Rathbone said: “Once again, this is a case of us needing to act due to injuries, and we weren’t looking to make changes prior to Nike and then Emil getting hurt.“But having been in touch with Emil since his crash, it’s clear that he could be looking at longer than five or six weeks out, and we just can’t afford to run with rider-replacement given the number of matches over that period.“We have six matches in June and as we keep saying it’s such a short season this year that if you have a bad run when you’re not at full strength, it can virtually be season over.“Edward is an experienced rider who had been looking for a Championship team place, and the opportunity was there to bring him in without disrupting the rest of the side, which is also important for us.“I’ve explained the situation to Emil, who’s done absolutely nothing wrong – it’s simply a case of us feeling that a full team is very much the stronger option than doing at least six or seven matches, and possibly more than that, with rider-replacement.“We’ll continue to work with both Nike and Emil, and should they regain fitness prior to the transfer deadline then they have a chance of being put back in – and that should also keep everyone else on their toes.“We wish them both all the best for their recoveries and we look forward to seeing them back at the East of England Arena soon.”Kennett’s home debut will come up against Glasgow on Sunday June 10, which is the first of three Alwalton fixtures in the month – also including the potentially vital Shield clash with Ipswich on June 17.

Wolverhampton v Poole Prem B. 28/5/18
NeilWatson replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes -
Because no rider (other than a rider eligible to ride in the NDL) can have an effective average lower than 4.00. (See Art 16.2.6)
-
Not sure if that’s a compliment or not!
