  1. Every season I was involved at Peterborough free carer admission was available on request.
  2. If pedestrians are using Gate 15 it’s simple to achieve complete segregation. Gate 3 pedestrian access is more awkward and would require a different disabled parking area allocated to the north end of the Grandstand and careful marshalling at the exit. Cars and pedestrians can’t mix for H&S reasons? At supermarkets for example the blue badge spaces are always near the store entrance and require one to drive through the main car park (and hence the flow of pedestrians) to access them. I’ve not hit a pedestrian yet!
  3. It’s unlikely the decision will change, effort would be better spent on persuading the promotion to provide a reliable buggy service.
  4. The riders would normally be in the stadium before the turnstiles open
  5. I was referring to the publicity and PR rather than the vehicle access. By the way, well done in spotting the notice and bringing it to our attention - this is an important change that's hidden away in a sub-menu rather than having a news item attached to it. It should be mentioned on the season ticket application too.
  6. Removal of the concession isn’t a surprise, and brings speedway in line with other events on the Showground. What is needed is for the promotion to lay on a reliable buggy/shuttle service from the car-park, recognising the multiple barriers of rough ground, darkness and distance that blue-badge holders face. Whether they have the vision to do that remains to be seen.It is also important that a similar clampdown is placed on all in-stadium parking, reducing it to the absolute minimum - a disabled person struggling towards the track being passed in a car by a member of track-staff who has no need to be driving in will cause a good deal of discontent.
  7. The other way round! Gate 3 is the first gate you come to when arriving, after passing through the turnstile you walk towards the track with the grandstand to your left face-on. Gate 15 is the hard-standing carpark all the way round the back - after walking through the atrium the grandstand is ahead end-on.

  9. Perhaps the rule has changed for 2020 - the rule I quoted was from the 2019 Speedway Regulations. Any NDL team that signs a 12+ rider is going to be very top-heavy......
  10. The effect of the rule is that any rider with a CL average of over six would have a converted NDL average of over twelve so would be ineligible.
  11. Thank you, and more so as I was Promoter at Coventry when he was our team manager!
  12. 19.6.2 A Rider’s MA will be based upon their latest (attained during the seasons 2013 – 2018 only) NDL or PL/SGBC MA (multiplied by 2 and subject to a minimum / maximum converted MA’s being 2.00 / 12.00. NB. Where a rider has both a previous PL/SGBC and NDL MA, the highest will apply.
  13. Yes it is - my extract is from the latest (2019) regulations from www.scbgb.co.uk
  14. Gary was an excellent team manager for Coventry, popular with the riders and very knowledgable. Good call by Poole
  15. At the discretion of the BSPA Directors
  16. 16.2.6 AMENDED MA’s have been amended with the Approval of the BSPA GC or Directors for: a) Riders who have been absent from British Speedway racing for more than 3 seasons (NB. The MA may be increased or decreased). b) Riders who have been absent for more than 1 full season due to injury. c) Any rider who has been or is eligible to compete in the NDL (and has not represented another FMN, other than the ACU) will receive a 2.5% reduction on their MA. d) a rider who moves between the Premiership and Championship leagues and requires a converted MA, the conversion factor will be 1.5

  18. It's not interpretation, Art 16.2.5 says exactly that...... Let's look again at Brian Bongo who you suggest finished the 2019 Prem season on a 12.00 average. He also finished the Championship season on a 5.00 average. The rule states: 'The most recently established MA will be used. If a rider has an established MA in both the Premiership and Championship Leagues, established in the same season, that leagues MA will apply to that league.' So for team-building at the beginning of the 2020 season Bongo has 2019 established MAs in both leagues. Not surprisingly he doesn't get a PL berth but starts the 2020 CL season on a 5.00 average. Until the first GSAs for 2020 are issued that remains the situation, and should Bongo get an early PL call-up to cover injury he would come in on a 12 point average. As soon as Bongo receives a new 2020 CL GSA that becomes his most recently established MA and he no longer has averages in both leagues established in the same season. At that point, any previous average becomes irrelevant.
  19. The rider would keep his previous PL average UNTIL THE FIRST CL AVERAGE OF THE NEW SEASON when the old PL average becomes irrelevant.
  20. That’s not correct, Art 16.2.5 explains why. No ‘special dispensation’ needed.
  21. 7 home and 3 away apparently: http://www.speedwaygb.co.uk/swindon19
  22. At Peterborough we marched out to the Match of the Day theme tune, led by the starting Marshall (my Dad).
