Redcar Vs Plymouth 23rd June league
the hobbit replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
He is. Much as I loathed him as a team manager, no one, even me, can deny the vast amount of very good work he does in all other areas. Laurence was not only instrumental in getting the current consortium together, thus ensuring we are still in existence but, is a key cog in helping the directors keep the ship afloat. having said that, my views on him as a team manager, are well documented.. the phrase I’ve often used, is .. “he’s tactically an inept Buffon”. he’s in the background now. Let’s hope he stays there -

Gary May is one of the best. Would have gladly had him at Birmingham. glad to say, we have put our house in order.,,,, rogers is no longer team manager. -

I went to Kent yesterday. I’ve never seen such sn unusual arrangement with different start snd finish lines. with the refs box in line with the start line, how does he judge close finishes like the one you referred to from yesterday? I was sat mid way between the start snd finish line snd I had absolutely no idea who had won that race so how on earth did the ref call it from even further back!
-
Correct. Just purely numbers, James leaving not Joe
-
Not seen those two in the flesh yet this season so hard to judge but up to now, joe has been dreadful since signing snd young hagon isn’t there to score points, he’s there to free up the points to bring in Batchelor. I hope we stick with young hagon for the rest if the season now, even if he doesn’t trouble the scorers. Ablitt barely scored all season last year but he’s really coming on snd starting to blossom now. Let’s hope hagon gets the same patience. James. Pearson had been give more time snd opportunity st Birmingham then he would have had anywhere else. Yes, he has improved a bit this season but has not at any time achieved his assessed four point average snd did not look like doing so. 24 races this year. No heat wins, four seconds snd the rest, minor placings I snd most other Brummies fans really like James snd wanted to see him do well but, he ‘s the sacrificial lamb needed , in order to be able to bring in a heat leader. just emphasises the lack of the third heat leader in the original team at the start of the season

Weakest reserve pairing in the league now. Joe Thompson has been very poor since signing., on current form, the only point they will score will be in heat two !! joe needs to rapidly improve or he will be out when the new averages come out on the 23rd. Same goes for Dan or he won’t be far behind Joe out of the door
-
First thing we need to go now, is change the riding order : 1: Morris 2: Dan Thompson 3: Sedgemen 4: Bowtell 5: Batchelor 6: Hagon 7: Joe Thompson
-
Gutted just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse ….
-
I hope not. I can’t stand mardy/ moody gits who regularly throw tantrums, throw their toys out of the pram and worst of all, stop trying and give up at the back when things aren’t going their way.

Please God, NO NO. NO NO
-
Where is the information about Howarth leaving Plymouth coming from please ?
-
I’d agree about Sam Hagon where have you seen it stated that Howarth has left Plymouth? howarth blotted his copybook at Brum last season when he refused to come out for heat 15, we conceded a 1-5 and lost by two points Not sure if the management have forgiven him yet let’s hope so
-
Have you got a link to the podcast please
-
Sam Hagon at reserve ?
-
Troy batchellor ( now we really are scraping the barrel),
-
Keynan rew dillon ruml

No , but by giving him the tac sub ride in heat five, it kept the better riders for the remaining rider rep rides snd got your number one another rider what does it say to your number one when you don’t use him , especially against the opposition number one. this is just one of a multitude of tactical errors we’ve been subjected to
-
No one expects results to magic improve overnight with this current team but, at least the team manager won’t be making s bad situation worse, now
-
He used sedgemen as a tac sub in the rider rep spot in heat 5 sedgemrn could have ridden as the rider rep when sedgemen had fallen off on the second bend of his first ride. Should have used Morris ad the rider rep, thus keeping sedgemen for a rider rep ride later in the meeting. This would then have meant you could cover the rider rep rides with Morris sedgemen, Bowtell snd mountain, snd not use the reserves who were way, way off the pace then came out with a ridiculous story to justify his actions which only served to make him look even dafter it would have also preserved the tac sub tide ( which were obviously going to be able to use later), thus giving Morris or maybe sedgemen another extra ride for the first time ever, the match report on the official club website called him out over this and was clearly critical. That says it all !!! Never seen that before and I’ve been a fan sine the 70’s
-
That will be Dan Thompson back in the team after him clearing the concussion protocols
-
No, it won’t with this particular team but as they say, if you pay peanuts you get monkeys if you pay nothing, you get Laurence rogers Replacing rogers would give more leadership snd reduce the points thrown away by inept team management thus lessening our current thrashing’s to hopefully something approaching respectability last weeks debacle in heat five last Wednesday snd his ridiculous attempts to justify his actions, were the last straw for me. He’s absolutely clueless
