  1. exactly!!! We need top heat leaders, not second stings or mascots and, we don’t want riders who throw a wobbler every time the track is wet !!!
  2. Even more reason why “flight difficulties” dies not seem a legitimate excuse for Freddie not riding for Birmingham then.
  3. That does not make sense as surely, for the vast majority of the season, he would be riding in Poland on the Sunday afternoon and there are no shortage of flights from Poland to he UK so, no problem getting to Birmingham or, elsewhere for the vast majority of the Monday night fixture making up the majority of the premier league matches across the uk ?
  4. It just says that we mentioned that we would pay the wages if he was available and that he once did four races for us but whilst zmarzlik is not available, his team mates, lindgren snd laguta, are available.
  5. Very healthy and more than enough to see us through next season
  6. The only news possible that would be more important than our racing in the premier league, would be the news that he had secured the land ( and that planning permission looks likely ), to secure our long term future. He told me several times last season that he had several possible sites lined up so, let’s hope .
  7. JJ predicted two announcements which we have now had, one last Wednesday one on Monday , the second one came earlier than predicted. What’s the problem?
  8. I’m not prepared to watch the dross we had to put up with last season. After over 45 years of watching the Brummies, I lost my love for the team towards the end of last season, for the first time ever, I was on the verge of going home before the end if the meeting, several times. There were far too many times when the result was a forgone conclusion by heat five. It was embarrassing and humiliating The way they have watered down the championship yet again. I definitely would not have attended if we had stayed in the championship the thought of watching some of the best riders in the world, does excited me but, not if our team is so weak, we are thrashed every week. If that’s the case, then I will not be attending. I have to use a days holiday from work to attend every match and I’m no longer prepared to give up 80% of my annual leave to watch us getting thrashed every week. my next decision then , would be wether to give up Speedway all together or to watch somewhere else which, would be very hard because my heart belongs to and , is with the Brummies
  9. The three signings already made, are a great start. We have two of the best young British talents in Flint and Brennan and Worrall is a reliable middle order rider who would be an ideal third heat leader. If we sign Zac Cook, then that fits my bill for an upcoming rider with great potential for the future every other team has at least two world class riders and we must match that, to have any hope of having a successful season. That means finding a way of affording the likes of lindgren, lambert or laguta. It means adding riders like jan kvech to complete a solid, competitive top five. I know we negotiated with lindgren but it never came to fruition. I hope the management have looked at the team they had in mind snd have realised they needed to add more fire power so , we await the news with great anticipation snd bated breath.
  10. I respect your right to have different opinion and to express that opinion. That is what forums are for and after all, we all want the team to be the best it can be and for the efforts of the management to be rewarded. I just get miffed when people bang on about not having a team of “has beens “ then get all excited about signing the likes of Zagar or Schlein. I’m not saying Schlein is finished but, he’s well past his best and personally, I’d prefer we sign someone who can progress snd grow with the club over the next few seasons, such as Mateus cuerniak, two times world under 21 champion and future works champion . There are countless young Polish/ Scandinavian riders who would excite me more than Schlein
  11. Yes, club hype. What else do you expect them to put? They understandably chose to ignore the comment I highlighted. first part you quote from my post was about Sam being dull, my opinion , others are entitled to their own opinion. listen to the interview again, Sam clearly states he’s got a lot to learn and again, you can’t expect the club to highlight this comment. you’ve been around long enough to know how the game is played snd to see the bigger picture, not just listen to the hype or maybe , those rose tinted glasses so many people wear, are restricting your vision. i hope Sam is an outstanding manager and guides the Brummies to unbridled success. . Personally, I think we needed someone with much more team managerial experience, such as Alun Rossiter for instance.
  12. Then they are changing their minds and, their plans. As one of the directors said… things constantly change . Let’s hope so as we need genuine top end strength. lindgren and laguta please. Better still… can someone persuade Robert Lambert to sign ✍️
  13. Believe it or don’t believe it, that’s up to you. Team was sorted weeks ago
  14. Yes, I do. that’s what I’m hearing why, if true, I will not be attending next season
  15. The team has been signed for ages now, just not released to the fans yet. i don’t know if Sam had any input on the team but I do know who did have a big say and that name was neither Sam or, Laurence. Sam may have been involved but to what level, I don’t know. the last four riders in my opinion will be the two Pawlicki brothers, Viktor lamoart and Zac cook Zagar or Jan Kvech could replace one of the pawlicki brothers
  16. I don’t know how you get any optimism from that interview….. he clearly stated he was going to be making it up snd learning as he went along. He has no ooomph about him. Dull as dishwater. Did you listen to the Worrall into? Steve clearly stated … Sam is from a different era when speedway was totally different, if he thinks he’s going to tell me how to set my bike up, that’s not going to work. %
  17. I will let the club make the announcements then I will let you know if I was anywhere near Look to Poland …..
  18. I’m glad someone else has said that!! couldn’t agree more. everyone knows my feelings about Laurence Rogers but I fear we are in exactly the same position with Ermolenko. That interview was as dull and uninspiring as could be which, sums up my opinion of Ermolrnko. I’m sad to say that I am running out of patience with our club hiararchy. When all the other teams feature at least two world class stars, what do we get ? two second strings and a reserve plus Ermolenko. the fans are not daft, they can see the writing on the wall ( yet again), they want to see what we have at the top end of the team , if we are going to be competitive or, cannon fodder. The team was signed ages ago so, no excuse for dribbling things out like this. With directors who have been fans for decades, surely they understand what the fans want to hear so, why are they doing things so arse about face ? I’m concerned this is because deep down, they know the team isn’t good enough ( may be the best they can afford), and are putting off the inevitable reaction , maybe it’s just that they haven’t got any idea about public relations snd how to sell the club to the fans. I have a pretty good idea who the remaining riders are and it’s looking highly unlikely that I will be attending next year , I was embarrassed snd humiliated enough last year. we seem to be putting together a team capable of getting to the payoffs snd competing for the title in the championship but, not remembering that we are now in the top league. !!!
  19. Listen to the podcast introducing Brennan snd it’s blatantly obvious, he repeatedly mentions one name in connection with who negotiated his arrival ….., Laurence rogers
  20. Really…. ? so, you didn’t believe my earlier post about Laurence Rogers then!!!! Thought you’d been around the Brummies long enough to be able to read the signs by now. has all the signs of being yet another disastrous team , destined for abject failure yet again. Will Nigel Tolley never learn ? Seems not
  21. so, just who do you think is carrying out the current rider negotiations, if it is not Rogers ? Apparently we have several riders already signed. . Hope they aren’t Rogers’ signings. We sacked him last year because he was incompetent and the fans and owners had had enough of him. he attended the AGM , has still got his hands on matters he should be no where near. If Rogers picks the team, and God forbid, is named as team manager then I will not be attending next season, after being a fan since the ‘70’s !!!! I agree, the first announcement should have been the new team manager snd, it should have been announced ages ago. For all the good this promotion have done, they still seem to be making the same rookie mistakes, the biggest being their dismal communication with the fans. I’ve read in the Brummies forum that apparently, Nigel has said the first two signings will be announced at the Xmas party on December the 8th. After NOTHING being announced on the club website for an eternity, keeping the fans in the dark, how stupid is it to keep the signings back so long snd keep all the fans in the dark? They should be banging out as much news snd social media stuff as possible , not treating the fans like mushrooms!!! We desperately need a damn good team this year to attract the fans back snd we never have had snd, never will have anything other than a CRAP team when Rogers has picked it. Sadly, unless the promotion announce otherwise, it seems we are in for more of the same. Nigel Tolley continually promised us teams capable of challenging for honours but it seems his view of a great team, is very naive!!! Time to get someone in that CAN and DOES know how to put together a good team. sadly, it seems we are in for more I the same naive management snd I fear, more hot air snd empty promises. Nigel needs to walk the walk snd that starts it’s much better communication, appointing a proper team manager, and minimising Roges’ involvement sadly, I think I am living in dream land , that I am in cuckoo land. I hope Nigel proves me wrong but, I doubt it
  22. Only for the normal time slot for shoppers which isn’t sufficient time for you to attend the speedway without getting a fine so effectively, no you can’t
