Kent Vs Birmingham - 18th July
the hobbit replied to lucifer sam's topic in National League Speedway
Just wanted to point out that tonight's Brummies versus Stoke meeting was completed in an hour and three quarters and this included a ten to fifteen minute interval Maybe instead of blaming all things Brummies for falling foul of your curfew YET AGAIN, maybe your promotion at Kent should analyse where they are going wrong and learn from their mistakes as this was by no means the first time and, unless they get their act together more, it will not be the last time the rediculous curfew comes into play -
any chance you could post a link to the article in the local paper PLEASE ?

I think what happens, is that team team is re-declared with the incoming rider being declared as a "temporary / sort term " signing, specfically to cover for injury. what this means is that the average of the injured rider, is "protected" within the team . Tom Perry's average is above that of Josh Bates, so it doesn't matter what average Josh achieves, when Tom is fit to return, he comes back in on the same average he was on before his injury. It would be different if Josh permanently replaced Tom, as Josh would then come in on whatever average he had earned. This would only possible because Josh would have started on a lower average than Tom. If Josh upped his and thus, the teams average, that wouldn't be any different to any team member upping there average during the season

You can keep the Elite League. I don't know a single Brummie's fan who wants to go back there. Many of us would be more than happy to stay in the National League whilst many would prefer the Premier League because of the larger amount of meetings -
Birmingham Brummies 2015
the hobbit replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in National League Speedway
I asked the same question on the Brummies Forum. The reply that came back was that the funds had been raised to assist in the rebirth of the Birmingham Brummies. As Tony Mole has now achievyed this objective, the funds are to be handed over to Tony. The people running the fund have assured us that all the money will go directly into helping the rebirth of the Brummies and that none of it will be used to help Cradley settle into Perry Barr. The people running the fund and, everyone donating to it, deserve the highest degree of praise possible and we can All feel proud that we have helped this great club survive. One major factor in whether or not the 2015 Brmmies survive, will be how many stay away fans return This includes those such as you Martin who sprout off on here and criticise others yet stay away from your supposedly beloved Brummies and choose to spend their time and money watching speedway in Poland and Sweden Many people in Burmingham and its surrounds need to decide if they are speedway fans or maybe football or rugby fans. If you decide you are Speedway fans then put your money where your mouth is snd support the Brummies rather than stay away yet still post on here as if you care about the club and the team Is National League speedway below you Martin or will you be on the terraces with us, supporting our team? -

Get real mate for peeps sake!!! Last year, most National League teams charged £11 per meeting whilst a few charged £12. I don't see any way we'll be paying less than £11 per meeting and having seen plenty of National League meetings, I can assure you that that will be good value for your money. -
I wish some of you would pay attention and get your facts right: firstly, what Mole said was that he'd offered £5,000 for plant and equipment such as the tractors and the air fence secondly, when pushed on whether or not he had actually made an offer to purchase the club, what he ACTUALLY SAID, was that he hadn't made a direct offer to Alan Phillips for the club but, admitted that he had made an offer to the BSPA to buy the club. Mole declined to stipulate just how much he had offered the BSPA, ( knowing Tony, it would have been a cheekily LOW offer). Mole went on to say that the offer was declined by the BSPA who presumably felt he offer was unacceptable. Mole may well prefer to purchase the club and start again next season but, he may well find that he's missed the boat because someone else beats him to it and purchases the club in the very near future . Remember, The BSPA chairman, Harkness, Chris Van Stratten, and Graham Drury have all publicly stated that private and confidential talks are actively taking place with an un named person(s) with the sole intent of keeping the Brummies on track THIS SEAON, Drury confirmed the current talks with someone who is interested in saving it now whilst saying he felt it would be better to leaved it until next season and starting again in the Premier League The BSPA press release on Friday sated the same facts. Add into this that a leading light from the group organising the save our Brummies fund. has stated on our forum that said Harkness is flying down from Edinburgh at his own expense,to meet them. It has been stated that there are talks with the GRA early next week to solve the problem of the unpaid stadium rental money and to try and get the team back on to their home track you don't think all this is being done on a whim do you? Expect the announcement of a new promotional team by the end of next week which will see the Brummies continue THIS SEASON and NO, it will not be led by Tony Mole. Long Live The Brummies. We shall overcome and we shall survive.

There's a Wetherstones pub just over the road from the track at the One Stop Shopping Centre where you will probably be parking your car 2 mins from car park to W/spoons 3 mins from W/spoons to track

Gd has always worked well with Tony Mole. Wouldn't be surprised to see Phil Morris work with them.

According to Graham Drury at our recent management / fans meeting, your three heat leaders have to ride at 1, 3 & 5 BUT, there is no rule as to which one rides where. The team manager chooses. This sounds find but is barking mad IF the new race format is bring structured to paid the top average rider against the tip average rider etc etc !!! Simply won't work if each team deploys it's three heat leaders in different positions. Drury also said that should your number one rider get hurt in his first ride, then each rider in the main body if the team who by definition therefore, has lower average than said number one, can take ONE ride each to cover the number ones rides. This prevents the new reserves having to cover the number one and things becoming farcical If this us his it's going to work , I can only assume that the team managers can also put the two second strings at either number two or four, regardless of which of them has the higher average. Again, I don't see how this firs in with the talk about the new race format pitting equal levels of riders against each other. No wonder it's taking an eternity for the new race formula to be finalised and ratified Drury also said it might be wise for teams not to go slide their lineups until Ll promoters and managers knew the race format. I'm hoping this us what the a tummies are doing as opposed to putting together a dirt cheap team with every boy doses unwanted riders. Can hear you all laughing your heads off. Wooden spoon looms for the a dummies.

Worrall needs to do one more official away match before he attains an official average which will be nearer six than his assessed three
-
in the case of a double up rider, he obviously has an average in both leagues. When he is uavailable for his Elite League club, you convert his Elite League average into a Premier League average by the formula set up last closed season. You can then book a Premier League guest having an average up to the converted average. The premier league average the said unavailable Elite League double upper has, is totally irrelevant. For example, lets say Ritchie Worrall starts in the Elite League with say 3.00 and say 6.10 in the Premier League. Worrall completes his required away meeting and gets a new Elite League average of say 5.95, still having a Prmier average of 6.10 Worrall becomes unavailable for a Lakeside meeting. His 5.95 Elite avarage converts to say 7.50 as a a premiier league average. Lakeside can now book any premier league guest having a premier league average up to 7.50, despite Woralls premier league average being only 6.10 Think back to last season. there were many examples of when the "senior" double up partner increased his average, this meant that his equivalent premier league converted average became higher and consequently, his double up partner was then changed to someone with a higher premier league average, supposedly a better rider than his previous partner. Our two double uppers at Birmingham, Barker and Auty, remained constant throughout the season but, as their averages increased, (josh's in partticular), then their double up partner changed accordingly. So much so that it became difficult keeping track of just who their partners were!!! Hope that clears up any confusion. !!!! Why would Lakeside sign up one of Britains hottest young prospects as a FULL asset, only to dump him immediately he gets his new improved, higher average? Relax and enjoy his entertaining speedway progress.

Want to put money on it you smart arse? Sundstrom was signed and annouced BEFORE the AGM. The point is that the rules changed at the AGM meening that a club can only use TWO grade A riders in 2013. I assume P'boro intended to have a top three of Bjerre, Hans or Troy and Sundstrom but now, they can't do so hence a change of plans is needed. At the AGM, clubs had to state which two grade A riders they intended to use, ( this years top twenty and, the designated riders from across Europe etc). This included all riders they owned, NOT JUST those who finished in their team at the end of the season PETERBOROUGH named one of the riders who finished the season with them AND one of either Hans Andersen or Troy Batchelor (wasn't told which one), This is why Swindon haven't as yet named their top two riders Gleening clues from other snippetts I've garnered, I believe it's more likely they named Batchelor than Hans. If Troy is more inclined to ride for Swindon than P'boro, this could explain his unhappiness today Unless you think P'boro are lokely to dump Bjerre in favour of Hans/Troy and Sundstrom, then they would have to backtrack and not have Suindstrom. If my info proves correct, I look forward to your apology but that seems highly unlilely as that might nominate your post as the "stupid post of the day" wouldn't it.

Craig Cook will be staying with Belle Vue as he has turned down other offers, telling his suitors that he feels he owes Belle Vue some loyalty for the faith they have placed in him.

crazy jack, on 25 November 2012 - 08:18 AM, said: . None of the midland clubs opposed it but Panthers said it would affect their business. rubbish horton said he voted against it and so did everybody else Graham Drury said the worst decision of the entire AGM WAS TO NOT. Admit Leicester Peterborough threatened to walk if Leicester came in. Birmingham and. Coventry definitely wanted them in. To admit Leicester, ALL the current promoters had to unanimously agree. Given the choice of seeing O Peterborough walk and a winter like the one two years ago, when they and Coventry threatened to walk, the current promoters opted to keep an established Elite League Club rather than admit a new one. It's possible they were motivated by self interest as most of them probably wanted to keep on the good side of Peterborough as they probably want to sign various of the Peterborough assets. Cynical but highly likely. Whichever way you look at it, PETERBOROUGH were solely and entirely responsible for Leicester being kept out of the Elite League -
Which hopefully indicates that we will have our captain back and that the Panthers will field Kenneth Bjerre and Batchelor in their side. Only if Sundstrom is released, he's already signed but finds himself in the 'top 20'. Graham Drury did say at the meet the supporters night on Thursday, that due to the changes to the rules at the recent AGM, one club had already announced the signing of a rider that they wouldn't be able to use and comply with the new regulations. My money is on that rider being Sundsttom at Peterborough, particularly as they seem set to name Bjerre and either Andersen or, more likely, Batchelor. Any two from those three, are all on the top twenty / category A riders group, meaning no place for Sundstrom.

Leicester Lions 2013
the hobbit replied to Honey Monster's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It has come to light that the reason that Leicester were refused entry to the Elite League was that Peterborough felt that having Leicester in, would have been detremental to their business and, said that if they were admitted, Peterborough would WITHDRAW from the Elite League. The other promoters didn't want to lose an established club and, for Leicester to be admitted, the vote needed to be unanimous. hence there was a unanimous vote against Leicester. Coventry Promoter just confirmed most of thses details on their radio phone in tonight without naming Peterborough but I can assure you, it was Peterborough who threatened to walk away. Can't reveal the source but 1000% correct. I think it's disgusting and yet again Peterborogh throw the toys out of the pram and threatened to walk away. Maybe it's time to tell them to sod off and replace them with a forward thinking, progressive Promotion like Leicester as opposed to a club like Peterborough who openly admit to making heavy lossses and being liable to close or sell up at the promoters whim. Disgusting. -
I am a 1000% Brummies fan BUT, my two favourite Brummies riders last year wer WATTO and, PHIL MORRIS. Both atre absolutely BRILLIANT team men, out and out racers and entertainers. Both are also extremely pleasant blokes who always have time for the fans. Unfortunately. neither has had any luck with injuries of late. Sadly, neither are in our team this season, much to the disapointment of many Brummies fans. I am GUTED about the news of Watto's accident. Get well soon watto and if possible, come up and see us when Newport come to Perry Barr in a few weeks time. I was impressed with the team Newport had put together and felt you were in for a good season. HOPE THIS IS ONLY A BLIP AND NOT THE START OF A SEASON LIKE WE HAD LAST YEAR.
