Stars V Wolves - Wed 13 May
magnificentseven replied to pointsmeanplayoffs's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Spot on with the analysis of the track. The final score flattered a bit with the last heat 5-1 - although Wells scored a lot of points he was not very impressive for me. Wolfie -
Poole V Wolves 6th May 2015
magnificentseven replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes the track must have been good as it is the first time I haven't seen the blue groove develop on bend one for many a year The crowd was the lowest I've seen at Poole for sometime so maybe the Poole fans have begun voting with their feet over their team and their poor run at home up until tonight. No doubt they will come flooding back when Ward returns Wolfie -

Lakeside V Wolves (24/4)
magnificentseven replied to T.N.T.'s topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Just got in from Lakeside - what a result !! As the riders lined up me and two others of the total 6 Wolves fans there were just hoping PK could win heat 14 and give us a good chance of a point. The track came to us at the right time - we gated in the last two heats and Lakeside didn't when the track was at its slickest. Nevertheless a great performance by PK and Freddie in the last gave us the points. I can't remember the last time we came from 6 points down with 2 heats left to win away, and it was great being there to experience it. PK, Freddie and Lewis were great, Josh tried hard and scored vital points, Musielak came good when it mattered, but Ricky and Jacob struggled. At one stage it was looking like a hefty defeat but turned into a most unexpected win. Wolfie -
Having endured the farce of the Warsaw GP at least we can look forward to the next GP. That is until you realise it is at Tampere - another rubbish track with rubbish follow the leader racing. If any new fans who watched tonight's debacle on TV do tune in for the next one they will certainly give up after that. Wolfie

Wolves Vs Belle Vue Tues 7th April
magnificentseven replied to lino wolf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No matter how strong they look Belle Vue never seem able to deliver on away tracks so I think it will be a home win. -
Swindon Robins Vs Poole Pirates 3/4/15
magnificentseven replied to Steve0's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
What a farce - the Swindon twitter feed has been bleating on all day about there not being a problem with the weather and then Hey Presto its called off. No finer way to alienate travelling fans in one easy move. -
B/vue V's Wolves El 03/04/15
magnificentseven replied to hyderd's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
On his facebook page Musielak has said that he is looking forward to now making his debut for Wolves next Tuesday. Does that mean he is missing on Friday? Wolfie -
Squad system wouldn't work as the riders sharing spots would want to miss the same meetings. Wolfie
-
Perhaps the question should be how to make the Elite League Better rather than stronger because any dreams of top riders flocking back are simply dreams and it ain't gonna happen. Drastic action is needed to make it better - we need a bigger league with more teams and therefore more variety - that would involve a lower strength overall of each team to start with but given the choice I would rather watch a league of more teams at a lower strength than a league of 4 or 5 teams including top riders. Lowering the strength of teams doesn't necessarily lower the standard of racing. Wolfie

Only the ones who can't see the reality of the situation. Wolfie

Pedersen tweeted last night - Been badly let down tonight - wonder if that is something to do with Wolves? Wolfie
-
In the 2014 season Pedersen's average was split as follows: Home 8.47 with bonus points/ 9.11 with bonus points Away 5.92 without bonus points / 6.31 with bonus points. This shows what a home biased rider he was, and he isn't going to get to ride at Eastbourne this year !! Those figures don't bode well for us and PK would be a far better option. Wolfie

No chance of beating Poole if Bjarney signs

On the official site CVS says Musielak will be using the mechanic that Piotr used last year so I think that probably rules out a return for Pawlicki. Wolfie

At the talk in CVS was still talking in terms of Ricky having to make the choice between PL and EL so perhaps he doesn't have a British Passport. Wolfie

Tai Woffinden Misses Next Years El
magnificentseven replied to phillipsr's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
After his performances in 2014 I have to admit that I'm not too disappointed about Tai giving England a miss. I'd rather him give it a miss than approach it half heartedly as he did last year. Wolfie -
You have got to be joking TNT - or has the calendar skipped forward 4 and a half months to April 1st? Wolfie

More Tinkering At The Agm
magnificentseven replied to Steve0's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'd have to disagree with your point about Eastbourne. The promotion are one of the few who did try to actually promote their track locally and regularly had special offers connected with the local press. They always set their team up to be good at home as their fan base seems only to want to watch the team at home. The home crowds have always been quite reasonable when I have visited the track but the spiralling costs of EL speedway has taken its toll eventually. Wolfie -
That team looks good - the only doubt I would have is Cook who seems to rely too much on his gating for me - having said that I can't think of an alternative at the moment. Wolfie

Leicester Lions 2015
magnificentseven replied to Skodaman's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
An Under 21 Polish rider and a Saturday night track is a recipe for disaster. It will almost certainly be spot the meeting he rides in. Wolfie -
There are many Wolves fans that agree with you.

Like a lot of people the stadium owners seem to have lost interest in speedway - the track has been awful for the last couple of months at least. I think the only chance the stadium has of survival may ironically lie with the Stock Car people. Brandon seems to be held in high regard with the Stock Cars - as I recall the World Championship is regularly held there - and I can't see the Stock Cars letting go of the stadium without a big fuss. Speedway in Britain does seem to be in need of a major overhaul - Birmingham have gone, followed by Eastbourne dropping down and the mess we appear to be seeing at Brandon. Wolfie

When Wolves rode the B match at Coventry Peter Yorke said that he had interviewed Garrity and Garrity had told him he doesn't want to leave Coventry. Wolfie
