Having endured the farce of the Warsaw GP at least we can look forward to the next GP. That is until you realise it is at Tampere - another rubbish track with rubbish follow the leader racing. If any new fans who watched tonight's debacle on TV do tune in for the next one they will certainly give up after that. Wolfie

Wolves Vs Belle Vue Tues 7th April
magnificentseven replied to lino wolf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No matter how strong they look Belle Vue never seem able to deliver on away tracks so I think it will be a home win. -
Swindon Robins Vs Poole Pirates 3/4/15
magnificentseven replied to Steve0's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
What a farce - the Swindon twitter feed has been bleating on all day about there not being a problem with the weather and then Hey Presto its called off. No finer way to alienate travelling fans in one easy move. -

On his facebook page Musielak has said that he is looking forward to now making his debut for Wolves next Tuesday. Does that mean he is missing on Friday? Wolfie -
Perhaps the question should be how to make the Elite League Better rather than stronger because any dreams of top riders flocking back are simply dreams and it ain't gonna happen. Drastic action is needed to make it better - we need a bigger league with more teams and therefore more variety - that would involve a lower strength overall of each team to start with but given the choice I would rather watch a league of more teams at a lower strength than a league of 4 or 5 teams including top riders. Lowering the strength of teams doesn't necessarily lower the standard of racing. Wolfie

Like a lot of people the stadium owners seem to have lost interest in speedway - the track has been awful for the last couple of months at least. I think the only chance the stadium has of survival may ironically lie with the Stock Car people. Brandon seems to be held in high regard with the Stock Cars - as I recall the World Championship is regularly held there - and I can't see the Stock Cars letting go of the stadium without a big fuss. Speedway in Britain does seem to be in need of a major overhaul - Birmingham have gone, followed by Eastbourne dropping down and the mess we appear to be seeing at Brandon. Wolfie

Berwick Vs Edinburgh 12/8 Live On Sky

Really hope Matt Wethers is ok. I have liked Matt ever since he rode for the junior team at Wolves when he first came over. He has always battled hard when he has ridden for Wolves and never let us down. Really hope he makes a speedy recovery from his injuries. Crashes like that really do put into perspective a lot of the stupid arguments that take place on the forum. Wolfie Bob Dugard at Eastbourne has been grading the gates used by the home riders for years - referees always seem to have a blind eye turned when those things happen -
Pearson Defends The Play-off... Desperate

And the play offs don't render the league pointless at all do they? :D -
Pearson Defends The Play-off... Desperate
magnificentseven replied to TheReturn's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Although Wolves have twice been champions after finishing second in the league I have never been a fan of the play offs. The team that finishes top of the league should be declared champions otherwise there is no point to the league - Mr Pearson pointed out a few times last night that the fact that Brummies finished top of the league counted for nothing which decries the season long league. By all means have a play off competition if one is wanted but this should be additional to the league toppers being declared champions. Wolfie -
Lots of people on here never know when they are well off. We have Eurosport prepared to show this series as well as the GP when Sky weren't. This enables people in Britain to see the racing. Yet all some people can do is moan about the commentators. Instead of concentrating on negatives all the while why not concentrate oh the positives - the fact that Eurosport are prepared to bring the coverage to us where Sky weren't and some of the different camera angles are excellent. Personally I think Nicholls is far better than Tatum in explaining the technical side of things and I prefer the Europort commentary to Nige and Kelv's inane screaming Wolfie

Kent Kings V Stoke, N Trophy, July 15,2013
magnificentseven replied to a topic in National League Speedway
Paid a visit to Sittingbourne to complete my set of British Tracks once more. I was very impressed - lovely little stadium and track - would put some EL stadia and tracks to shame - shame the track got a bit dusty towards the end but very understandable given the weather. Very enthusiastic friendly crowd. I hope the Kings manage to find some riders to make them more competitive - you certainly couldn't fault any of the riders for effort - and that the track is able to continue for many years. Wolfie -

Nice to see that Proctor has taken his Wolves form with him to Plymouth :D Wolfie -
The Russia situation is a total farce - if I had bought an advance ticket I would be demanding my money back. It will be interesting to see how Kelvin and Scoop explain this one away on Sky tonight. Surely the Russians should have been replaced by another country to at least guarantee 4 riders in every race - for instance I'm sure that 5 Americans could have been assembled to represent Team USA - they would probably have not scored many but at least there wouldn't have been a blank in their team - or give the last placed team from Saturday another chance to qualify - lack of notice is no excuse as this situation has been common knowledge for a couple of weeks now. The Russian Federation should be banned from this competition for eternity as they have shown utter contempt for it. Wolfie

Hasn't Richardson said in the past that he didn't want to be considered for the GPs as well? Wolfie -

I'm not so sure Nicholls would have wanted it... in his interviews at the GPs towards the end of the year he said a couple of times he was looking forward to a year out of the GPs Wolfie -
Wild Cards For 09
magnificentseven replied to beesbarmyarmy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I thought I had read somewhere that Jonsson had applied for a Polish licence and passport. This would mean that Sweden haven't got a rider in the automatic qualifiers. Hence Lindgren was almost certain to get a pick as the only Swede, and would be in front of Holder, no matter how much he may have deserved a spot, as there are already Aussies in the top 8. Wolfie
