2010 Grand Prix wildcards
paul84 replied to gaztrotter's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Finally some sense at last great news that Tai Woffinden is now in the GPs we now have young blood in there and it will be a good experience for him. Hans and Freddie also deserve thier places as they are exicting riders with alot to offer the GPs Bomber im happy for him as he is a tryer but unless he makes the top 8 this year it will be his last and im sure he knows that. Good news all round thought well done to those concerned who made the selections. -
I stayed in the Etap in Newport this year and it made our weekend we couldnt stop laughing at the room which we were staying in so for that reason alone i recommend it The room is basic in every sense of the word -metal bunkbed (double on the bottom , single on the top) which only just fits into the "cell sized" room, small telly in the corner. Airconditioning in the room we had was broken and with it being a small room nearly gave me and my dad heat stroke. Onto the en-suite bathroom- very small sink located about 3 foot away from the bed with a walk-in shower next to that with no privacy at all. The toilet is a small cupboard. Complimentary "Etap" soap is in your room prior to your arrival. In your room you will also find 1 towel and 1 toilet roll for the duration of your stay. Breakfast (Which is £3.50 each,we didnt pay as we eat it and walked off laughing ) consists of - toast, tea/coffee and milk if there is any left, and in some cases there are no mugs left but the kind lady behind the desk gave us some staff mugs. Saying all that the rooms and hotel in general are clean enough but very very basic, and i would imagine extra oxygen in the small rooms would come at an extra cost!! All these things together as funny as it may sound made the weekend as it was "an experience" What a laugh we had id go back again but perhaps not everyone shares my sense of humour Honestly you have to try it. Id really like to think your right, a bit of fresh blood riding for Britain in the Gps would be nice. As said before im sure it will help them as riders! But it is hard to see a real serious contender for the next British world champion..... The Gps are so hard and With riders like Emil,Ward,Woffy,Holder and even who Andreas Jonsson (Just to name a few) who in my eyes have a World title in them.

Its fairly clear that Scotty and Bomber aint going to make it into the top 8 in this years GP series. So the question is Who if anyone do you think will be seeded through to the 2010 Gp series? Lets hope Bomber can do the buisness at Coventry in the challenge, If he fails to do so and we dont get any British riders seeded it will be a sad day watching the Gps without a British representative. I think Nicholls is clearly in his last year of Grand Prix racing and with him not being in the challenge either i think we can safely say after 2009 we wont see him on the world stage again. I think the Rob Lyon approach must be taken if there are to be any Brits seeded through to next years series, im sure given time and experience on the Gp circuit the likes of Eddie Kennett, Tai woffinden and even Lewis Bridger will make the grade in the next couple of years (I hope). Some may be of the opinion that if a rider doesnt make it to the GP off there own back then they shouldnt be there... I agree to a certain extent but i look forward to the day the likes of Holder and Ward hit the big time just hope we've got a Brit or two up to challenge them

Nicholls V Sayfutdinov
paul84 replied to Cornishman's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
from what i seen Scott didnt want any fighting he just tryed to keep Emil away from him. And yes like i say on that occassion Scott was better then Emil who came last and scored 0 points in that particular race. And dont worry Snyper you will be used to disagreeing with people thats what you seem to do alot on here, But hey its your opinion it maybe different but its yours -

paul84 replied to DarrenCook's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
correct im not saying we're going to win the world cup or anything like that, but our lads will gain valuble experience which will certainly help the future of british riders, Good start to the team GB job from Mr.Lyon. -
Nicholls V Sayfutdinov
paul84 replied to Cornishman's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Of course im going to be slightly biased being "British" and all but it was clear that scott Nicholls didnty want any trouble. After the race he put his hand up to tell Emil to "Leave it " then to defend himself pushed him away- after that Emil lost his temper and to me Scotty was trying to defend himself, fare enough he maybe shouldnt of reacted but it wasnt Scottys fault Also Scott Nicholls did nothing wrong during the race, the young Emil just got rode high and didnt like being beaten by the better rider on that occassion. -

Everyone has their favourite gp riders and are entitled to support them! -
Etap hotels are superb, all the mod cons!
-
Agree- First time a gp didnt go his way and he seemed to strugggle mentally.

Enjoyed Cardiff the track was the best yet id say! didnt seem to have any ruts and held up well. Jason Crump was superb and deserved winner on the night. Good to see Scott Nicholls having a better night and really done well with his heat win. Bomber was unlucky to be excluded in the semi -final id of really liked to have seen him in the final but never mind. The referee made some terrible calls and again it makes me think that anyone can be a ref . But a good night of speedway top atmosphere cant wait to see it on sky now!

The whole experience from the build up on the day, the entertainment and of course the racing. This meeting is the show case event of our sport, a chance to see all the worlds stars in the same meeting all going for it, this meeting does alot for british speedway in my view and long may it continue! Cant wait -
Id love to see Eddie Kennett have a good GP and get in the final. sadly Nicholls will struggle. and you never no with Bomber we can hope.

Il go for Greg "Monster" Hancock!
