  1. Yes it will be hard going for Mroz and Taylor but good experience for them all the same.
  2. As i say id put my neck on the line and have a guess at Wrighty to win but it could be any of these! Id love to see Compton the Comet take the win!!
  3. What a line-up il go for James Wright to come out on top- but it could go anywhere.
  4. Does anyone no or have they heard who the pre-meeting entertainment is this year...? Cheers
  5. I think a year in the PL before stepping into the elite wouldnt harm him also build up his confidence, but we shall see. good luck to the lad anyway.
  6. I shall be Cheering Compton on as i was last night it should be a good meeting for a good cause!
  7. Great meeting and a nice way to start the season! i must start by saying that sheffield look to have a cracking rider in Josh Auty the lad was excellent certainly up that average. I felt abit sorry for Andre Compton he looked in the mix in most of his races but couldnt get in the points ( it was strange cheering for him at sheffield ) Tai woffinden -Again the pressure and build up the lad gets just does not affect him in anyway like it would others, one of the best riders on show that 1st bend in the final with Crump was something else !!! He will set the Elite league alight. I think Spin King is right in saying althougt Ricky wells might be one for the future a year or two in the premier league would do him no harm at all. Took abit of getting used to seeing Stoney in his new colours but he didnt look to bad from the gate in his races just lacked abit of speed but im sure he will do well this year. Happy to have seen Speedway and as usual Sheffield was a great place to visit with top facilities just glad there was no injuries. very sad to hear about the bad ones sustained at Newport hope they werent as bad as first thought. See you in the league Sheffield
  8. Well done Kevin , luck forward to seeing you in that blue and white rce jacket! Very sad news with the injuries
  9. Harsh but true 'diamond@heart' my thought exactly! Lets hope we're both proven wrong.
  10. Although i would love to see Hancock be world champion again. I think Pedersen,Crump and Andersen will be battling for the top spot!
  11. If Ryan Fisher calms down abit i think he could have a good year and we could see him up there in the plrc
  12. Franc and Makovsky will be a decent bet if Berwick get into the pairs this year! Il still go for Rymel/Roynon and Doolan thought
  13. Looking a very strong line-up, hope the weather is kind. Adam Roynon is now confirmed to race in the meeting.
  14. Well Najjer i hope you are right!, and if Rymel carrys on from where he left off last season there will be no stopping him, i will be attending the meeting and it will be my first visit to Somerset hope its half as good as last years pairs, cant wait.
  15. Parker and Greives will be a very strong pairing if they are both firing, but as you say Workington could have Roynon in the pairs if he has a good season he will be kept busy with Comets and the Bees.
  16. Yes i guess your right Tigerblues, could be Rymel or Roynon for us! Mind you Topinka could do well for Lynn?
  17. With any luck by the end of the meeting us Comets fan will have reason for a drink
  18. Cannot take anything any from Keith he has worked hard for the club and from were im standing it looks like he only wants the best from his riders, with him being a lifelong supporter of the Comets my guess is he must have alot of faith in the riders he has signed. As you can tell by my username, im a massive Stoney fan- and nothing or no-one will ever take away what he did for the club and i wish him well and will try to get up to Redcar to watch him, but regarding him leaving workington we dont no what talks were had or what was said between him and the promotion. Nermark and Nemo i cannot argue are great riders and i would have welcomed them back with open arms, but for whatever reason they have moved on and again i wish them luck, but there are in the past now and im sure most teams would give their right arm to have the riders like Rymel and Doolan in there team just ask Berwick or Kings lynn! There are alot of teams worst off then us, we have a very exicting team for 2009 and i cant wait to see them out on track im sure us Comets fans will see some more Silverware this year- C'mon lets get behind our new team!!!!! I have no doubts they will do there best for us. QUOTE ( @ Jan 28 2009, 01:33 PM) I am not a Comics fan, but I still fancy Rymel & Doolan for the pairs. A very honest fan i must say . But you cant ignore talents such as Doolan and Rymel of whom i dont need to tell you about. Well i hope your right 'balderdash&piffle' but it will be a well fought out one, as already said lets hope we are all injury free come the pairs night. And good luck to all.
  19. Ok i admit, of course i fancy our chances . But im not sure what the situation is on qualifying Paulco, i very much doubt the bspa no themselves yet lol!
  20. Yes i think the same thoughts are in the Workington supporters minds after the amount of injuries we've had over the years! But Brum did get there fair share of bad luck last year! Id like to think the Pairs line-up doesnt have any replacements in due to injury. Injury Free Lyons & Piszcz could stir things up. but dont bank on our lads taking it easy
