Terrible to hear about this, hoping we hear something positive very soon! Speedway the greatest sport in the world but can also be horrendous in a split second. Thinking of Tai and all his family

Fantastic effort on the Go fund me page raising money to help the club after the recent storm damage to the pit area. The running of the club won’t be cheap anyway let alone these setbacks so it’s great to see people helping out financially and going down the track to offer help. Remember Andrew and the promotion own and run this club but it’s the fans club too so let’s support them on and off track! Already excited for the season to start. Give us a C !!!

Another video posted since then of him winning a heat ahead of Jan Kvech, from what I’ve seen of him so far he seems a good gater, looking forward to him getting started with us I’m sure like almost every other rider he will love our track.
-
Impressive ride from Fraser Bowes ( on his Facebook) to beat Chris Holder under a lot of pressure too. Looking forward to him getting stuck into our track.

Welcome to Workington Jacob Hook Happy with how our team looks for 2025, plenty to look forward to and riders who will make for exciting racing around Northside. Well done to the promotion and all involved!

Probably all chasing the same few riders ….
-
Very happy with the team building so far a good scoring reserve and the 2 riders who in my opinion needed to be back after we gave them a start in British Speedway it’s only right we benefit from them in 2025.

Craig Cook announced all signed up for next year (Twitter/X) but who by…..

Great night had by all at the presentation night on Friday just about recovered now, nice to see so many people turning up for it to. On the team front it was quite rare to have the night where no signings were announced ….. obviously we still have the AGM to come yet so we might not be far off hearing some news on our 2025 riders. Based on what Claus said it’s clear he won’t be back but other then that no real big hints from anyone so we will see.

Yeah looking forward to it should be a good night.

Redcar Bears v Workington Comets 2nd August 2024
paul84 replied to A.N.Other's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well done to Redcar on the win however I’ll take our 10 point defeat all considered! Some very close racing tonight with the dirt like right on the air fence towards the end of the meeting making for brave moves. Jenkins certainly done his job as a guest and Ace although wasn’t in the big points wasn’t disgraced even against that level of opposition. Man of the meeting was Troy Batchelor he’s been superb for us all year and tonight he rolled back the years looked great on the bike. My only criticism of Redcar wasn’t the meeting itself it’s a few of their supporters who stand on the home straight stand who now always seem to have a little cry and a sulk (happened on our last few visits now) because we put our Comets flag/banners up, relax we pay to get in and spend money on food bar etc if your that offended cheer louder… We took a beating by Poole who made plenty of noise and had flags etc up it’s nothing to get upset about personally I like to see away support when track visit Workington adds to the atmosphere. So next time don’t get so uptight I can guarantee everyone who stood there is friendly and up for a crack . Well done on your win, here’s to tomorrow! -
Glasgow v Workington - league - 3 May @ 7.30pm
paul84 replied to SharpenRake's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Totally agree takes 2 sets of fans in my book to create an atmosphere. I’m currently sat having a beer waiting for the bus. We have a 50 seater coming your way and plenty in cars so here’s to a cracker night of Speedway and a comets win. Like you say it’s like the old days and that’s only a good thing . See you for a pint Paul! -
Redcar v Workington, 12/ 4/2024 :- BSN Series.

What a night! After some bad luck in the first heat it looked like we were in for a long night but the Comets dug deep and really impressed especially with limited experience around the STMP. Great to have plenty of supporters making lots of noise! -

Can’t wait for this one tomorrow! Big support for our lads and lass ! -
Checked Apple weather and BBC and I think we will be fine. Regarding the meeting it’s going to be a close one Scunthorpe have a decent team with some out and out racers in there. I’m looking forward to our guys getting another meeting to get used to our track and set ups etc hopefully the positives from last weeks meeting continue and we can pull off a win!

I only care when he wears blue and white and so far for me not done that and has had a positive start.
