Peterborough Panthers 2015
scaramanga replied to mudflaps's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
workington fans know all about ulrich's moves around the outside when theres no room when hes riding like that hes worth the entrance fee on his own -
it cant have been easy coming up with this team or it was maybe just luck lot of studding the averages to get a team that looks as strong in depth all with similar averages could be a year when the no1 chages everytime the new averages come out
-
andre compton was once a enemy off workington fans but soon become a crowd pleaser when he signed for the comets
-
in other words loan deal but well say you bought him to get first choice when dates clash

im sure a few teams would like simon lambertt on a 3pt avereage final averages on bspa website from 2014 list simon as 3.73 -
pleased about that
-
surely riders are not forced to ride in the elite league they would have a choice of riding just for 1 team or doubling up if they have ambition to go futher in the sport you can understand why they would take there place in a elite league side on paper looks impressive if roynon takes time to gain his form he would drop to reserve which should help him out a little with the team we have and the points left theres still plenty of options be interesting to see which way the team goes

hope you get the news your looking for great shame if a track like peterborough is lost to the sport -
would have liked rob branford at workington in his early days can remember him riding after the meeting looked really good some riders look promosing at a young/early stage then go backwards slightly before finding there adult feet
-
i couldnt care less if rene has thick skin he dosnt care about his team mates (or didnt last year) hes a great rider at times but how often did he through a tantrum last year the reserves were rubish when the beat him the track was rubish when he came last he couldnt ride with wells he couldnt ride with howarth really hope he ups his game this year and rides for workington comets instead of riding for rene bach grajzonek at the start off the season yes he wasnt too good from midway till the end didnt look the same rider that started the season did ok for poole mind
-
i agree with you on this and lets be honest do we go and tell everyone how much or little we earn
-
ive heard poole mentioned for cookie in the elite league
-
im not a fan of the bspe im a speedway fan but i was adressing the post direct and the poster took for granted that because hanson is danish he was more expensive than british bassed riders we just dont know the ins and outs of riders fees im sure some brits are on better deals than some foreign riders
-
do you know hes expensive ? might actually be willing to ride for less than some of the british bassed riders you have in mind he maybe actually wants to ride for workington unlike the riders you listed

New Conversion Rate For Riders....
scaramanga replied to Panthers89's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
riders going up will still be the same the reduction is for riders dropping down -
hansons average has been reported as el 5.5 and prem as 7.70 if i multiply 5.50 by 1.4 i get 7.70 thats the figure quoted so i take that to be the correct way of working it out old conversion rate would be el 5.50 muliply by 1.6 = old prem average of 8.80

surprised to see nick morris back at glasgow and also jan gravasen back at redcar

New Conversion Rate For Riders....
scaramanga replied to Panthers89's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
copy of the post on workington forum below Right, there seems to be confusion everywhere on the change in conversion rate so I will explain the logic. (could someone share this with the BSF). At the Pre-AGM the "weakening" of the Elite League in 2014 with use of fast track and the change in race format meant that the old conversion rate (1.6 x EL average = PL assessed average) was outdated and needed looked at. We looked at all the data available from the EL stats and tried to correlate between averages achieved by the PL riders in the EL and their performances in the PL, the issue was that riders in a second string position in the EL got somewhat "easier" rides. After reviewing the figures it was noted that the overall standard of the EL was closer than previous and to keep the 1.6 conversion would exclude some riders from riding in the PL. The data indicated the conversion should actually be between 1.3 and 1.4 At the AGM the proposal was therefore made to reduce the conversion from 1.6 to 1.4 of any rider who wanted to "drop" into the Premier League. This of course caused an issue from the top end of the EL as well who in theory had "harder" rides due to the race format and we needed to make sure that this was not an issue. IT was therefore proposed and accepted that only riders with a current EL average of 6 or less could drop into the PL. I don't like using the word drop as it indicates a different level and standard between the 2 leagues and for several reasons I believe the 2 leagues to be closer in standard than ever now, in fact, in my opinion we no longer have two tears of professional speedway but 2 different leagues. All these riders who now want to ride in the PL have had the opportunity in the past and have not seen it as the "right thing to do", their chance may have gone or they may have to wait to get a less than 6 average!. The whole thing is about ensuring going forward the PL remains a strong product as well as ensuring that PL teams bring talent through. The conversion rates from PL to EL did not change as this was not discussed by the EL promoters so anyone moving from PL to EL will still be converted at the old rate. Hope this clarifies. its clear to see the elite league was a easy option for most prem league riders last year most of them scored more in the elite than they did for there prem leagu clubs even prem league reserves could easily score 10 points in the eliete league at times proberbly 1 off the most sensible rule changes they have made in years good post and very sensibly worked out obviously different people will have different views regarding on if its a good rider signing for there team or a opposing team the eliete leagus is very poor in my opinion and some riders are scoring more points than they should so its only right the conversion is looked at your figures prove theyve done this and are not too far away from how it should be -
depends what methord you use to work things out im sure the offial figures for signed riders will become clear unless somerset are bringing in more riders from danish league

coppied from a post made on workington forum from 1 of the management team hope it shuts a few of the know it alls up who actually dont know as much as they think Right, there seems to be confusion everywhere on the change in conversion rate so I will explain the logic. cant see it happening but if all rode like they can cracking team dont think josh will be back but stranger things happen everyday in speedway and i also agree all them riders can improve there average if things click
-
for me almost all the riders listed cant ride to there potential week in week out they have too many poor weeks for the whole team to perform to the standard needed to win trophys on there day all the riders are good enough but just how often would they all ride to taht level at the same time
-
some riders i would have but must agree it dosnt look a trophy winning team
-
but other teams havnt got away with what somerset got away with and they almost got away with even more until other teams voiced there opinion but still somerset got a reduction on what the rider should have come in on rules are rules but some teams are allowed to fiddle the rules
