  1. cant see vissing back started off really well but mid season onwards wasnt that impresive as for tero got a lot of stick from some comets fans last time he was here i actually like and rate tero but coming back from injury maybe too much of a risk
  2. gotta say im really impressed that a team shows such respect and loyalty to there previous team and that all the riders who finished the season were willing to re sign for the following season if more riders/clubs had the same attitude the sport might improve and crowds maybe would improve
  3. ive got to say im sort of impressed looks like rye building a decent team by the three listed so far but the other 4 might be national league standard going by some rye teams recently but i wish them well with what i8s a bit of a gamble mooving leagues but could also be great for the club as there in the right area for the more southern bassed elite leagus that was probably should have jumped leagues a few years ago

  5. the story i was told from someone close to belle vue a month or 2 back was there are also members of the council with questions to answer
  6. and also many stay at home to watch sport now rather than out in the cold wet summer
  7. weve probably all heard rumours about riders being owed money and rent not been paid at belle vue unfortunatly its part of speedway and other clubs are in the same boat not only in britten whats the point of riders going topoland for big points money when they dont get paid
  8. so what happened to the other 1372 as it was reprted as sell out a week or so ago if im not wrong they have a 8000 capacity for rugby
  9. i understand what they all mean when going on and on and on about genuine no1's but every rider is a genuine rider and to disrespect a 7 or 8 point no1 by saying there not a genuine no1 is part of whats wrong with this sport some fans expect 3 point reserves to score 6+ every meeting and genuine number1's get maximums every meeting
  10. every team has a proper no 1 hes the one with the higest average in the team and rides with number 1 on his back granteed some are better than others but makes no difference if there a 10 point average or 7 there all genuine no 1's other wise they would be riding at 3 ,4 or 5
  11. id also herd he was on rickys engine last few meetings now if he can do that for full season then hes a bargin on his average but also why did it take most the season to find the problem ?
  12. nice to see so many rival fans wishing the comets luck and saying how much they enjoy there visits now its time to get some locals to do the same
  13. herad a rumour they all got £50 cash back if they agreed to change name so no brainer most involved in speedway would take the £50
  14. now that garry is paying the wages will he pay the same rate as he expected when being a bit silly acting as courtneys manager but my post was fact ian thomas relessed courtney after havelock demanded a points fee that was claimed to be more than stoney was on at the time it was possibly the year 2 reserves could share 1 reserve place and courtney and tony dart shared the place
  15. will be interesting to see the wage bill next year as when havvy was acting as manager for young courtney his wage demands were that high it lost courtney his team place so im sure garry will be offering good wages for reserves
  16. its not being renovated just tarted up just like when the rugby made a big song and dance over its big make over they got a 2nd hand digital score board that was place at the wrong end of the ground and was tiny compared to the big wodern 1 everybody looks at they got new seats in the grand stand spent a lot of money on paint and money on floodlights that now shine directly on the pitch funny thing when the speedway wanted to upgrade flood lights town claimed they didnt need them so any upgrade was down to speedway but if you went past derwent park on rugby training nights the floodlights were always switched on ?
  17. prem league was a very good product when points limit was 45 the only difference to the cost is the fees teams agree with there riders if the points limit is 36 good riders on 5point averages will demand more money than if the points limit was 45 riders on high averages will have to ride for less as there will be plenty wont get a team place so the higher riders will be compeating for team places
  18. i believe tony rickardsan challanged it before he retired from british speedway his parant club didnt want him to go out on loan and tried to block it untill rickardsan thretend to go to court using the bossmon ruleing that came into football might have a few details wrong as it was a while ago also the reason riders are free to sign for other clubs on loan is the system is that way as there is almost no loyalty in speedway riders changing clubs and clubs not wanting riders back
  19. if redcar made a true profit then i suppose we must congratulate them regardless of any personal feelings for team or management
  20. that wont cover expenssess and provide enough income to live on must have another soarce of income or have good family around them suerly theres no riders still riding that were around riding in 1976 thats 40 years ago would make them mid 50's at best or are you saying they earned 300 to 400 in 1976 thats a lot of money but a totaly different ball game and cant really be compared i know people that earned 300 a week 25 years ago but now earn minimum wage
  21. 24 league meetings say 10 to 15 in other comps guest bookings ? it is possible to bring in £40,000 over the season if there on close to £100 a point but over half that figure would be lost with costs so earning less than most of us earn before tax
  22. you may know the figure the club gives out but they will also get a big chunk from personal sponsers and the bigger the player is in the public eye the more personal sponsership they will have
  23. where i work im on more than most others are on but i dont discuess it that much the same will happen with speedway riders as allready said its not that simple some riders might get part payment from club and a sponser might pay so much aswell then there is other things that could be taken into account like do they just get points money or does the club pay for accomadation or a van its very hard to say whos on the best deal and it deiffers from club to club
  24. this is what ive been telling people but they wont listen im sure a few clubs future will depend on the agm this year
  25. id go for may start the season needs to be compressed and regular meetings no long gaps in home meetings where did you hear this no surprise as he definatly upped his game last week maybe some of the rumours regarding hansan were correct
