  1. my poor mate jenga is a poor example of anything apart from a good mate and a wind up merchant sorry Mr t
  2. its more of a way of making sure there is enough credit there to pay the bills if it all goes ** up thats what i was told years ago from a co promotor
  3. i always found it strange and funny that if a foreign rider wanted to ride speedway in uk he had to pass a english test but footballers takeaway workers and such like can find work much easier than home grown uk residents who do speak the native tounge
  4. but the posts were talking about end of season not a rider deliberatly dropping average at start of season in order to strengthen team for reat of yeat
  5. its not about how high any riders average is at end of season its about how much the riders improve there average over the season that makes a succsesful season
  6. so will this mean scotty will finaly ride workington he was booked years ago to do a few match races with a couple of comets riders he never rode the offical reason given was it was a very cold night and they just wanted to get the meeting over and scott promised to return to earn his fee hasnt happened so far lets see if he returns with a team or they use r/r if he does actually sign for a championship team
  7. as it wasnt a offical comets event you wont get the sheep saying anything on here incase the puppet master gets upset
  8. a happy motivated matt williamsan will be a decent reserve and if he gets to grips with the track he will gain confidence and improve his average
  9. i understood what you ment but i was just pointing out a power cut will stop a traditonal meeting just as easy as a futuristic electric 1 ive spoke to a few trials riders and watch them perform with electric trials bikes and i can only say i was very impressed obviously speedway is slightly different as the lack of noise would play a big part in things most people wont undersatand the actual power and torque of a electric motor they are that powerfull they need geared down or soft start otherwise they could shear a solid shaft on start up
  10. exactly the same as in meetings as there run today the meeting will be abandoned no power means no start or red stop lights no floodlights and no automatic tape release and no pa systems
  11. ive heard similar tales not 100% the same but there is a possibility anthony cant do the track due to the amount of fridays anthony has told a close friend of mine something lets just see what happens this is what happens when plans are made without talking to all involved not really having a go at anyone at workington speedway by that just a general comment and more to do with my own work place than workington speedway
  12. was brent werner the same while he was at newcastle he wasnt that shy but did sit outside in the van after the meeting but he did have a young child at the time if i remember right a lot of the workington fans didnt really like the fact he "didnt socialise " like some of the others
  13. who else is on the bspa comittee any one know full list
  14. hey thats every day situation in the league that stoll our name but they still think there the ones with a better quality product
  15. well you never know you might not be too far from the truth there jenga once over played a big part in saving speedway in a certain area
  16. too many warnings last year so now jump starts arnt always pulled back not sure exactly how its gonna work if its jump but dont touch tapes your ok or if its at refs descression like it was in the past
  17. agree with the points you make but this is the bspa were talking about who change the rules at will usually to the advantage of 1 off there members teams this is why they rules and everything should be policed by independent pannel
  18. its easier to keep fans by improving things before they get so bad once fans have stopped coming its hard to get them to return they get out of the routine and find it hard to justify paying the money again as they will have found another outlet for the money they saved from speedway
  19. i can remember walking into sheffield for a plrc meeting and the track looked like that
  20. but YOU were saying you should back your promotion at all cost which i would never advise for anything always use your own judgement and dont be afraid to speak your mind have i hit a nerve
  21. yet another forum english teacher some ar puppets and some are hangers on because they cant think for themselves they just follow like little sheep
