-
as josh rode last season then yes you should be allowed r/r if he hadnt rode last season then national league guest it should be
-
gotta disagree that its been rubish since keswick caterers finished personaly i didnt like the burgers from keswick caterers but the service was much better it was good at the start last year on back straight on the subject of staff where have all the stewards gone ? i was always led to believe this was a council stadium and had to have a minimum amount of stewrads i was actualy asked years ago to become a steward to allow me free entry which i declined and continued to pay but saturday night id say i only seen 1 steward on all off the steps/back straight with the odd walk round from the new saftey officer
-
who does the van on grandstand side now then i take it its all down to same people as the people doing it last year were told they wernt required this year i was actually refering to the ones who ran it last year (had forgot it has changed) absolute disaster we are going to be the laughing stock off the league if they continue to ruin everything about what was once a great event on a saturday night
-
and none of us has comented on the disaster of the new ticket system thats not a great idea is it for getting anywhere except the grandstand anyone going bends or back straight has to squeeze past the que for food at whats probably a better food outlet from what im told
-
last year the cafe started off good after a few problems and a few supply and demand issues ie not stocking what the punters asked for it went down hill but even at its worst last year it was like a 5 start compared to last night i susspect we wont get any reaction on this forum from anyone at workington speedway which is why the crowds are reducing all the time unfortunatly laura is pasionate but as for the others well best not say what i think of them

scaramanga replied to Robinh88's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
frank smart and danny dird got quiet HIGH during there speedway time didnt they -
id say it was about normal crowd from late but poor for opening night was hard to follow it being first meeting and hard to pick riders out maybe first meeting should have been a team event dan and kyle did ok mixed night for both kyle had perfect start by gateing in his first rid and held on to lead for a lap or 2 before rene bach passed him but he held 2nd place then in his last he swapped places with mason campton a couple of times before mason took the win

the food was awfull last night and the "hot" drinks were even worse absolutly digusting 4 of us went for drinks all got thrrown away and the service was just out of order looks like nothing was learned last year burgers and hot dogs with no onions whats that all about obviously they are running on to low power to get things cooked and hot drinks need boiled water to make them right £1.50 for a coffee made with warm water is not on i hope there public liability insurance is up to date if there gonna carry on like that and its too be hoped the h&s inspector dont pay a visit

Riders demands over the years
scaramanga replied to Robinh88's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
allthough i do agree with everything topsoil says the riders are risking a lot for the sport and they deserve more than what they get and unless they intruduce a controlled bike/engine whatever you will always get them spending money to gain a advantage if its in there interests to do so you will get the od rider who dosnt need to spend as much because they can set the bike up better and ride better than some spending a lot mor to keep up with them -
you never really know which riders wanted to stay and didnt and which were wanted to stay and didnt speedway is a ruthless sport very few are faithfull and loyal to clubs/riders

Rule change - better or worse?
scaramanga replied to 4thbender's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
if im not wrong once upon a time it was instead of the on track making way to tapes its been last few years -
Rule change - better or worse?
scaramanga replied to 4thbender's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
sometimes they are genuinely working on bikes and are pushed but its the ones who sit at pits gate until 15 seconds and then potter round and still want to prep gate that anooy me paul thorpe was a master at it its all mind games -
Rule change - better or worse?
scaramanga replied to 4thbender's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
im all for the allow prep if at gate early enough the ones who arive as the 2 minutes are about to end deserve to have to line up with no prep of the start grid ive always said the 2 mins time allowence should mean rider in a sort of holding area at tapes(say within 5 metre behind tapes) ready to be pulled up by start marshal -
didnt workington town recently renew or extend there lease ? i could see a possibility of it happening sometime but it would be at 1 off the 2 grounds as theres no way there is enough money to build a new purpose built stadium its just some council talk you know the type 1 that opens there mouth while what brain they have is in sleep mode all 3 rugby football and speedway at the moment are not cost efective clubs/teams none of them can pay the bills on gate money alone

Simon Stead Farewell Meeting
scaramanga replied to 4thbender's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
both pritty valed reasons in my book id never expect bomber to pull out of anything without a good reason -
you see thats the thing most people on this forum all they shout about is genuine no1 how many teams have won the league with a balanced team rather than big "genuine no1" id far rather have a balanced team where you dont know whos going to win the haet or come last thats what sport is all about theres nothing entertaining about watching a race where you know 1 rider is gonna clear of out front and another is gonna trail around half a lap behind
-
theres a few old riders in there that on there day were match winners for teams in the past they might be past there best and on there way out but they might just get a 2nd wind and have a good season 1 thing for sure theres a lot of experience in that team and a few riders i enjoyed watching when they were on form
-
personally I think the best set up was back when it was 45 point team average
-
for me the way 2 go is discounted tickets rather than freebies even if its a fiver if you get someone to pay a small fee it shows theres a slight interest there to start with freebies you never know what your getting in
-
i actually agree to most the changes (i think) but the one where riders arnt allowed to get of there bikes to do the gardening thing now come on they tried this 2 or 3 years ago and soon reverted back so why is it any different now or will it stand till 1 of the promotors who must be have there own way start getting too many riders pulled up for it
-
id say that it looks like theres 4 or 5 clubs at the moment who look strong but we all know in speedway its more often the ones who dont look clear favourites at the start of season that are up there at the end
-
jenga dont have a sofa he uses old woden crates but he does have a good biscuit barrell
-
might be plenty oif brits signed to polish clubs but how many will actually get a ride
-
why should they give up on life outside speedway speedway is a bit of a mugs game too be honest the risks involved are not rewarded by wealth you cant expect riders to wrap themselves up in cotton wool outside of speedway we all deserve a decent out of work life regardless of what job/sport we do
