  1. as with all tenants there will have been something in contract about leaving as you found it im also gutted that speedway has been lost to the area especially in the way it has Workington town almost always had a bitter grudge against the speedway jealousy is a very nasty thing im no rugby fan but I do have close friends who are connected to the rugby club aswell as close friends who were involved with the speedway in the past so I do know a thing or two about the goings on behind the scenes in the past (not so much in recent years)
  2. think your on the wrong track there but safe to say speedway or at least the current speedway setup wont be back at Derwent park
  3. if some of the rumours are right speedway was all set for 2019 if only some who claim they wanted speedway were willing to come down from the high chair a little (and for the good of the sport)
  4. totally agree with you on this if good riders are available and you can fit them in no real problem aslong as the riders dropped before even turning a wheel are compensated for any costs they have prepairing for there contracted ride
  5. funny thing with this announcement there was something about kyle and it said he was Glasgow rider over a week before official statement id guess he was Glasgow rider within 48 hours of Workington going under
  6. from what ive been told the vans were probably the unpaid workers tarted up term for what was once known as community service when you been a naughty boy or girl
  7. apparently reds fixtures are finished in april but I can also say after talking to a contact there is talk of things starting to move over to Derwent park in may but my contact has also gave some very bad news that there's talk of some rugby fixtures being at reds ground as the NEW pitch will take 8 weeks to lay and be ready for action so that looks like the end of speedway to me
  8. would he not have to reach a 7 pt average this year to qualify for next year who was it that had to sit out a couple of years ago ryan douglas maybe ?
  9. that's the bspa for you or just general state of british speedway
  10. aint seen masons article but I fully understand and agree with what your saying
  11. don't worry about it maybe Newcastle are interested and wanted it kept quiet
  12. he may be a fan but hes a business man aswell he knows how much money he lost first time round and maybe fancys keeping some cash back for his retirement how much money the company has in the bank has nothing to do with personal savings or income you can only take so much money out of a company before you end up in trouble via the court room
  13. im sure Nathan is a better option but id also say he will already be signed up elsewhere
  14. unless simon is being broadcast as a red herring get use to it the 1 to 7 as its panning out has been rumoured for a while now I was even shown it on a text message a while ago I think simons been around long enough now that hes never gonna be heat leader but on his day can be a good reserve or no2
  15. thankyou for that im sure all Workington fans hope he rides well too especially when we go to Scunthorpe
  16. the ones in the know could tell you from what im told the team is signed
  17. Bradley, mason and tero have all proved they can beat anyone on there day
  18. Funny that. Most said the same about the fantastic treble winners from 2018
  19. Sheffield totals to 38.01 so someone must have a reduction or wrong average listed
  20. until he gets a better offer to ride against us he also tends to spend a fair bit of time on injured list
  21. if we did sign stevie and he got injured we could always make all other teams switch race night
