  1. if vissing is signed suppose it makes a bit of sense to have a little humour in announcing today
  2. auty was involved in a few incidents over the years at derwent park he did mellow a little later on andre compton was held in same regard as auty untill he signed for workington
  3. wonder if santa will have something for us tomorrow
  4. he rode workington 2 or 3 times last season maybe had 1 good ride each night rest were poor
  5. moran brothers were the same bikes got pulled out still covered in dirt from last race
  6. im sure something was said last year adam did not have the money to spend on bikes to make them reliable
  7. adam roynon on his day around old workington track was fantastic sadly now hes a shadow of the rider he once was and very injury prone
  8. And another assetfor the club which could be important for the future Who holds Sam's contract Not sure how it works now but junior or old national league contrCts never passed over to higher leagues
  9. after weeks of no news they are coming fast now looking forward to the new season and to see what the next level of racing brings yes there will be faster riders and track record will be lowered byt will the racing be as good ??? higher level does not always bring better racing as we found out last year some real good entertaining meetings
  10. if he has a average season can see him pushing 10pt average
  11. too much focus on heat leaders teams are more successful with strong reserves and 2nd strings that improve rather than strong heat leader who mins every race but his partner only picks up points if others dont finish race
  12. sometimes riders need to wait for there parent club to say they are not returning before they can say where they are going do agree its draging on a little since sam was announced
  13. It was also said ace signed for comets on less money that he had been offered from other teams Sometimes riders can earn more buy taking a lower offer as the can score higher at a certain track or gain more local sponsorship and of coarse travel is a big issue its not all about signing fee or x per point
  14. Aslong as racing is good that should be enough People who only go to watch a winning team are not fans of the sport
  15. wasnt aware of any riders living in workington that could fill a no.1 birth
  16. not sure how much truth in it heard craig wanting too much to ride at workington craig is still a good rider but very unpredictable had the ability to go a lot further than he has done if a team signs him its a gamble not sure if its possible but if it is needs to be something in contract that money is held back if he goes awol
  17. and that is bickleys problem was too good for the oposition and had equipment far better when he was a junior he never had the chance to learn to race the change was too big for him to adjust too im sure kyle with the right backing did have it to be good but think he was a superstar before he started at higher level (no fault of his own )
  18. personaly i think 3pm dust bowl meetings @£20 will turn a few away i feel spedway is best under floodlights but others do prefer afternoon meetings
  19. think Tero has had his day now too up and down and not know for looking after his equipment very well good rider on his day but they are getting less often
  20. needs flood lights and switch to later start time its the only way they will keep the dust down enough to allow spectators to watch the racing
  21. id love to see a fully on song rasmus or kilderman round north side
  22. not so sure about that there has been plenty riders over the years who have the signs of drug users or heavy drinkers and never been caught
  23. no real point trying to build team untill regs are finalised but i see tom brennan not wanted at glasgow could be good round northside also sam gotta be of interest the lad never gives up and rides his heart out and luke harrison all depends on cost and building a team that works
  24. not followed the forum regularly since comets closed last time but remember you and always found your posts fairly unbiassed and you come across well as a speedway fan who knows the crack not just post towards your own track
  25. crowds will always drop from the inital buzz from opening nights id say tyhe dust has been a big part of some dropping away hopefully if the flood lights rumours are correct then switiching to night time meets will improve the racing and crowds
